Which is really better?
So I have played every final fantasy ever made... no really I have!
now when someone asks me what my favorite is
I always pick Final Fantasy X
The story line of Tidus & Yuna is so much better then VII The gameplay is the same (more or less) I just wanna know what you guys think why does every one think 7 is better then 10 Seven is just so over rated

Let me get one thing straight, VII is not overrated; it is overhyped. It's rated perfectly, the fans just blew it out of proportion. It was first to a lot of teenagers around this time so you here more about it's characters. It's story is great, even if it was slightly mangled through transition to America. I loved it.
After playing more games, the one I like better is IV. I just really loved playing the story and I could connect to the characters.
When it comes to X or Vii? I'd have to choose Vii since I couldn't bare X really. (X-2 I liked for some reason >.>)
It's part nostalgia and part deep story. I don't feel for X as much.

The debate of which ANY FF game is better could go on for ages I think.
I'm biased towards VII because it was the first in the series that I played back a year after it first came out. Had never heard of Final Fantasy before then. The story drew me in, the characters were great, and it was just a memorable game for me overall.
XII was my second FF favorite until I played X rather recently (yeah, the order is off. I thought my game was broken, but now I'm finding it works perfectly). X's storyline is deep and thought-provoking.
In my mind they're equal in terms of greatness, but I'd give the win to VII just because of sentimental value.

i'm sorry but your all wrong DISSIDIA FTW!!!! it has a completely free flow fighting system and you can customise the charicters to new extremes it's just epic man

Sasori Nagashi i'm sorry but your all wrong DISSIDIA FTW!!!! it has a completely free flow fighting system and you can customise the charicters to new extremes it's just epic man i honestly did'nt enjoy Dissidia, the gameplay was too repeditive for me and the cutseans were'nt impressive. as for vii vs X its a hard choice but i like VII better just because X felt a little short to me still LOVED it also IX is very underrated in my oppinion but thats not the topic @ hand is it?

I didn't like X due to all the talking and long scenes. It was more a movie than anything... I liked VIII more than VII because the storyline was great and I liked the characters. Not to mention the side quests. VII kinda lost its glow since everyone seems to freak out about Sephiroth and Cloud. But between the 2... I say VII

VII. I loved X, but I honestly think VII is the better game; I agree wholeheartedly with Kazuma that it's over-hyped, not overrated. Obviously it's personal preference which storyline you like better, but there's so much complexity in VII's plot, and the actual storytelling just made it seem that much more convoluted, which I think is great. How awesome is it that the main character is practically lying to you half the game? Plus there's so much that's hidden in the game; you find it through sidequests, through a random book on a shelf, that kind of thing. A lot of it is never said outright, but you're given enough information to reliable infer what happened, or at least have a lot of fun guessing. biggrin
Gameplay's a tough one, though. I think VII's was better, but in some ways, I did like X's more.

Great points, Raven. While I'll put my money down on VII any day, I will this time defend X by saying that while Cloud lied to himself and everybody else (including us, the players) through half the game, X players find out that Tidus doesn't exist at all and that Auron is the most awesome dead man ever xd And interestingly enough, Tidus took it pretty well that he was just a memory of someone else's existence. I'd imagine most people would go bonkers over the thought.
Then again, maybe they did that to top VII's mindbombs, who knows. Both games are great, but better would be a matter of personal preference.

UGH, tough choice. I'll go with...
X. While I like both stories about the same, I find X's has a smoother feel to it. I love the battle system for X (it's like, one of my favorites ever), and the sphere grid is kinda cool. I like more of the main characters in X too - they were all pretty cool apart from Kimahri, while in VII there are a couple characters I couldn't care less about. Finally, while Cloud certainly is bad-a**, cool, whatever (and NOT emo, or at least not in the original game), Tidus is just more of my kinda main character.

(sorry for th duble post but)
by the way Dissdia will get repeditive like all fighter untill you find another player to play against that is fun to fight since he or she play in a style that chalanges yours just right but doesnt go one sided so yeah its all in the online play if there is any

FFIV and FFV aren't recongnized and are actually very awsome games. I perfer them. Their fault is no side stuff. I think FIV's story runs deeper than either. But i do not hate FFVII or FFX they were both great games and both have tons of fun side stuff....but not much to say about their stories. And their characters are very well known throughout the world but some fans don't know much of their predicessors that lead to them. Besides the only FF i hate is XII.... i mean WTF! that game failed to be a non turn based game, fact the only good none turn based ones are Crisis core and Dissdia.

I say FFX. It is more fantasy then FFVII to me. I liked the storyline and the battle system. The character were also great. I didn't dislike a single one. Everyone where awesome. As for FFVII, I just go for CC and DoC. AC were just to much 'Cloud' *sigh*. The fact they only focused on him was just annoying. The first FFVII was good in a few ways. And the type of main I prefer is an active type, not quiet type.
