At our competition Saturday I discovered how close all the band members are.
Materason (Sax) and Dakota (drumline) were sitting on the chairs in the bleachers. Nathan (pit) was sitting in Materason's lap, I (guard) was sitting in Dakota's lap. Dakota was holding Materason's hand to keep her warm and had his other arm around me keeping me warm. Then, during awards, we all held hands intertwined. And no one in that group is dating.
Is your band like that?

lol yes, my band is alot like that.
before a football game, all the people in the stands look at us like we're stupid because we have a dance, and we hug eachother before halftime.
its pretty hilarious.

Technically, we have a PDA rule as well, we just choose to ignore it when the BD isn't around. :]

My band has a PDA rule too, but my director does NOT enforce it unless he has to XD
I mean he does enforce it to the obvious point of no sex, and no kissing/making out. But that's...probably about it. I see couples holding hands all the time. Then again, I see friends holding hands all the time too, so I think it's more cluelessness than anything else. xD

We don't really have a big sex problem in my band, so my bD never tells of a rule about it if we even have one.
As for personaly space, no, we have noneXD Sad thing is we are a smaller band. At our festvial on saturday I realized this>.> One kid kept hitting my knee because he was goofing off with his girlfriend. I got him back quite easily though. He was borrowing a seat-cushion thing from a band parent, and it had two clips to hold it up like a chair and a handle in back for carriage when folded. Well, I was sitting behind him to his right(though apparently not far enough not to get hit by his v icious elbow) and one of the freshman clarinets(Seamus, not sure if I spelt that right) was sitting behind him to his left. Then, yet another freshman clarinet(Manny) was sitting one row above between me and the other freshman carinet. Before I start my story, Manny started itXD We started taking turns pulling on the handle, which made him fall between us. He kept blaming Manny too, wich made it even mre fun. By the time we were slightly bored of it(he had covered the clips with his arms, because me and seamus kept unclipping them so he fell back if he leaned backXD and he had tucked the hanle behind his back) he had told manny he would kill his firstborn childXD Before the host band played I pulled it again, which was funnier because he didn't expect it. Hey, i told him to stop bumping me and leaning on my leg. ninja
Oh, and drill spots at a 1 step interval, n a block, is not fun eitherXD

ours don't have a huge rule on PDA, only hen it interfears with practice or is just like total make out, little pecks and holding hands is ok though. But year, our band is A LOT like that. Some of the guys give little kisses to the girls on their cheeks before practice, and they're just friends.

We are! On the buses were all very close, we like sleeping on each other when were tried and hugging if were cold too. None of us are dating but were very close, its a band thing.

well yeah we're close! i mean, we all change in front of each other into our uniforms, we all spend hours in bus rides to competitions and performances together, we practice and play in stands all week with each other. it's impossible not to be close to other band geeks.
what's creepy, though, is that even at lunch, all the band geeks (or at least each section) sits by each other. it's like we HAVE to be together at all times. haha.

Ha-ha, well me still being in middle school band, we can't really get that close. Plus people consider me a loner, and I don't cuddle with mean people!

yeah our pit tech is a stickler about pda but usually its to be funny. haha we sit on each others laps, we march elbow to elbow sometimes, before every performance, we gather like football players if not closer, every last day of band camp, we tackle the band director....yeah oh and band nerds are always dating each other XD
