 Pollvolution's Halloween Costume ContestFIRST THINGS FIRST
This is a Halloween contest. An avi contest. Not a tektek contest.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE
This is similar to the avatar arena. Dress your avi up for Halloween and give it a title. That's all there is to it :3 You can even include a short description if it so pleases you. That may give you a leg up in this contest. BUT BE SURE that you have BOTH an avi and a title.

Congrats to our first, second, and third places! Please see third post for more details. Prizes will be sent out within a week.

THE OFFICIAL RULES 1. Follow Gaia's ToS. I'm not sure how you can break it with an avi contest submission, but I stuck it in here anyways. Follow the guild rules too.
2. It should go without saying that your submissions should be PG-13.
3. PM an image (i.e. tektek, photobucket, etc., etc.) of your avi to IvyStarling. Label the PM something like "Pollvolution Avi Contest" so that I know it's important and so I won't ignore it for a month. Include the title and/or description in that PM.
4. Make sure that you are wearing your outfit when you PM me your submission so that I know it is your own items on that tektek. If you are not wearing your outfit, I will be forced to assume that your submission is only a tektek and I will not include it in this avi contest. To be on the safe side, don't change your outfit until you receive a reply to your PM from me, verifying your entry.
5. You may only submit one entry.
6. All avi entries are due by October 31, 2009. Voting will begin November 1. Voting will end on November 8, 2009.
7. If you PM your avi entry, then later decide that you want to PM a different avi - say you want to edit your entry or send a whole different one to replace your original submission - that is fine, as long as it is before October 31.
8. I will not post any of the avi submissions until the day of voting.
9. After October 31, I will post all of the submissions into a post in this thread. I will put all of the titles (why you NEED a title for your avi submission) of your entries into a poll.
10. The avi entry with the most votes wins. Simple as that. The poll will be conducted on the honor system. I will expect that no one will use mules or any other sort of method to sabotage the poll.
11. Anyone can enter this contest, seeing as how there are no real "judges".
12. Questions about this contest will be posted in this thread, both for convenience and for the sake of my sanity.

In life, Mary rang her bell and called the changes in shifts in a textile mill. When the mill burned in 1869, most of the adult mill workers got out. Most of the children did not. Their ghosts, Mary's included, still remain though the mill is gone.
Now a hospital has been built on the uneasy ground where the mill once stood, and Mary still rings her bell. But now the bell calls death. For one, or for hundreds.

Mistress of Theorii
The young maiden, whose name has been long forgotten, but is now known as the Mistress of Theorii, had never fit in to her town of strict social classes and perfect children. She was a mischief child, deemed to be ugly all her life, and was traded away as a child. Her story was not one of sorrow though, for shortly after her departure, as fate would have it, the town was flooded. Unfortunately, there were no survivors. Time wore on, and against the odds, she became a beautiful young lady. The towns name was slowly fading from the minds of the simple people of Fedori, but she was happy. She finally found a town full of misfits; a town where she fit in. But something about her was different. She hadn't aged since she left Theorii. Slowly, even in this town of misfits, she was being judged, being outcast yet again. As her friends' eyes began to cloud with confusion, she began to separate herself. She found a lonely home out in the woods, next to a lake, and she amazingly loved it. Once she disappeared, she began to become one of myth and legend, tales of her beauty spreading far. And slowly, her beauty did change. It steadily was increasing, surpassing the descriptions in local lore. The thing that was the most surprising, was her eyes. None had seen any like them. Only around Halloween did she come out to visit the town, when she wouldn't be judged. She still follows this pattern today, lurking until Halloween, when she can freely show herself.
