Lonan sat still, almost too still to be lving. It was something of a talent of his. To sit still, go unnoticed and just observe teh sounds around him until he could perfectly map where each and everything, every heartbeat, every breath, came from. Dark wings folded against his back as he sat a little straighter. The staff was held loosely in pale hands. A deceptive stance.

Asrafel was late! Late! For a very important - .. well all right, perhaps not so important. Would Alania have killed him if he had waited until tomorrow to buy the groceries? Of course not. Unfortunately, they had no milk, and no bread, and even if they could have dealt with it for one day, Asrafel felt guilty for waiting so long on his errands. So here he was, zooming through the air with a hummingbirds beat of his wings, zipping to and fro at some distraction or another. It was easy to get lost on a night like this, especially when he felt the need to try and take a shortcut through a more rural area - but he felt confident that eventually the city lights would burst into his view once more.
So far, however, he was just a little lost. Not much. Just a little.
It was getting darker, and silently he hoped Shauna was getting home all right herself. He darted upward for a moment to get a better vantage point with which to see his path, and changed direction to head toward the city. The sharp turn led downward and right into a large black shape. From the back, Asrafel couldn't tell if this creature was friendly or not, so his wings slowed to a silent beat while he hovered nearby.
He never was good at sneaking around. He was sure that whatever it was knew he was there already, after all the noise he made. He touched down on the ground, though only one foot rested tentatively upon it, knee bent in a stance ready to spring upward at a heartbeat's notice. Several feet away, he figured the best way to figure out if he was in danger was to try and catch it's attention.
"Psst, hello~?"

"Yes?" It would have been hard to miss that racket. At least it was a racket to his sensitive ears. He didn't budge, seeming completely relaxed.
The other boy was to his back. A small smirk lit his face. This could get a bit interesting. The sense he got off him was hyper, sugary high-strung. Definately wired.

"Oh!" He breathed out, letting out a half-smile. It was sentient, it could talk, it probably wasn't a big bear ready to devour him! How lovely! He dropped his other foot and stepped lightly toward the boy, delicate steps tiptoeing around so that he could see Lonan from a better angle. He still remained a few feet away, much like a wary deer. Just cautious.
Suddenly a gust of wind caught his ribbons and his wings, and with it came a feeling. It was familiar, and it struck him like a slap in the face. His eyes widened and he stopped breathing for a moment.
No, there was no danger here.
"Why hello! I'm sorry to intrude if you're busy, I just happened to be going through here on my way back into the city and noticed you there. My name is Asrafel! I don't believe we've ever met."

"No, we haven't." The voice was soft and calm, an tenor to nearly match his if subtler.
White eyes opened as a he turned to face Asrafel. "I'm Lonan."

Knowing another name to fit into the puzzle made Asrafel smile wide. He closed the gap and moved to settle down a foot or so before Lonan, flopping down and resting back while his hands supported him.
"Lonan! I must say I'm surprised to meet you like this so suddenly. Tell me, have you been.. ah.. around long?" The question came out awkward, and he laughed a bit nervously at the end of it.

"Not that long." A soft tug at the corner of his mouth. It was as close as he'd ever get to a smile.
"Asrafel? Odd. Then again, I should be one to talk. Are there... others? I've met Shauna, I think her name was. And now you."

Asrafel's face lit up at the name. "Shauna! I was just with her, what a small world! Oh, oh yes there are many. Dozens, as far as I'm aware of! There could be more.. I can only speak from what I've seen. And I've seen dozens!"
He took the time to inspect his new kin, making note of how imposing his wings made him. In contrast, he seemed like a gentle soul, and for that Asrafel was thankful.
"I'm sure you'll meet more soon. We have get togethers every once in a while.. here, let me give you a card for the Center! That's where I work, and oddly enough our kin keep popping out of nowhere! Something must attract them to it." He ran his finger across a ribbon and a moment later held out a small shimmering card to Lonan, clearly unaware that the boy was blind.

"The card will do me little good. I cannot see." Black wings shifted a bit before folding lightly against his scarred back. Moving so he was in a more relaxed possition the staff rose, tip planted in the ground as it should have been. He didn't seem concerned at all.

It took far too long for Asrafel to process what he had said. He continued to hold the card out between two fingers, but he blinked, and his smile twitched before ever so slowly fading. Finally, he pulled his arm back, and took notice of how Lonan's eyes weren't exactly focused on him. They probably never had been. No, they definitely hadn't. "Oh, I didn't mean.. that is.. I didn't know.. oh. Oh dear." He slid the card back against his ribbon and it disappeared. "Well, don't I feel sheepish." He placed his hand against his cheek and shook his head. "Nevertheless, Shauna knows where it is, and even if you didn't know any of us my guess is you would somehow find your way there anyway. Everyone does. It's just fate." Asrafel didn't believe in fate anymore. He believed in Halexei's powers of intervention, however.

"I do appretiate the offer. And don't stare at me, please. I may be blind but I'm not dumb." His mouth twitched in another attempt at a grin.
"If it's discomforting I could just close my eyes if they disturb you." Wouldn't be the first time and it wouldn't be the last, he assumed.

Asrafel blushed deeply from the end of his nose to the tip of his toes. "Oh no, I'm so sorry! Ohhh, I can't do anything right, this is awful.." He turned away quickly and shuffled back a pace, drowning his face in his hands. "Honestly, I don't know what's wrong with me today. This is awful, it is, you'll get such a bad first impression. I should probably leave. Yes, perhaps that is best." He felt as though he would only make matters worse without even trying. He had never had this much bad luck in his entire life! ..as short as that might have been.

"Sooo you're going to run just because I asked you not to stare? That's a bit new. Usually people either just stare or just run. Never had someone do both before."
The twitch at the corner of his mouth was gone, leaning a bit more of his weight against the staff. He was still folded on the ground, but looked as though he might move. Figured another person was scared of him because of how he looked.

Asrafel pouted heavily, and looked up at Lonan for a moment, before his brow furrowed. "Stop that! Just.. stop. Apparently today is not the day for me to make a good impression. I'm not running anywhere, I just .. just .. " He let out a frustrated sigh and buried his face in one hand again. "Just forget it. There's no point in dwelling."

Lonan sat there passively, eyes half lidded. "I didn't realize this was a problem. If you care to talk I'm good at listening." There was something bothering the other teen. It was obvious.
