It was a rare day when Madeline let her charge out of her sight, but today was one of them. She had gone on a rant about not wanting the Thuk to end up with "sissy influences" or something just this morning, but Francine had obviously not been paying attention. Dakin was dressed in his usual thigh-length toga, and on his bottom half he had added a pair of what looked like plaid clown pants. Truthfully, it didn't matter much. Dakin and his aunt were off to the fair!

This particular fair was located on a vacant field in Barton. It was a bit small, but there were still rides to ride and cotton candy to eat. Franny and Dakin had been there for a couple of hours already and were taking a break at the moment, sitting on a bench peoplewatching.

"Look," the Thuk said, pointing at a brightly-dressed man on stilts. "Can I do that?"

"Maybe someday," Francine answered, her usual smile spread across her lips. She passed the boy a small square of chocolate. "Madi would kill me if you did it now."

He wondered if a place like this was the best of his ideas. It was a bit crowded, at least more so then either Rong or Rhydderch were used too. The minotaur seemed to tower over everyone there as he was nearing eight foot tall and Rong was perched on his shoulder feeling much taller. The boy's expression was one that was set in the same manner that it always was, he was just watching from his high up perch and was saying nothing... not that he ever had as of yet and Rhydderch was still wondering why that was. He gave his boy a glance and then a smile, "What do you think? Do you see anything you want to do?"

Rides, food, people, and he could smell animals out there somewhere as well. Surely there had to be something that would interest his boy in more of a manner then he seemed normally be interested. He would watched things, poke at them, inspect them, and that seemed about it. He had yet to show any real interest in one thing above others, everything even people seemed to be seen on the same level as everything else. Much to his disappointment the expression on Rong's face didn't change in the least even when he was faced with something as interesting as this fair. He really had to bring him back to meet with Wylde, worried there was something wrong with his son.

Rong looked back and forth, watching the many beings as they scurried about, some in costume though he didn't know why, watched the moving rides, and he seemed to find himself wondering what this strange place was. He didn't make any move to climb down from his father's shoulder but he did lean forward ever so slightly to try to get a better look at some of the fanfare.

Somewhere beyond the stilt man and a spiky girl barely wearing any clothing at all, Dakin spotted the giant minotaur and his comparatively tiny shoulder-riding boy.

"Do you want to try Whack-A-Mole?" Francine asked. Receiving no response, she turned, surprised to find that she had been addressing open air.

Moments ago, Dakin had hopped off of the bench, making a beeline for Rong and his guardian. He stopped at the man's feet. "Are you dressed up?" He had seen so many people who were today that he couldn't be sure if the bull man was too or if he was just like that all the time.

Finally seeing where her nephew had gotten off to, Franny gasped, jumped to her feet and raced after him. "I'm sorry sir! He doesn't usually run off." Francine's eyes were close to saucer-sized. She had never been face to face with anyone so huge!

Ryhdderch was very aware of his surroundings, he had to be given how enormous he was, it helped in keeping him from stepping on anyone or anything. It was something that came in handy when he found someone quite small suddenly approaching him, stopping at his feet. The minotaur took a step back so he could get a better look at Dakin before smiling at him, "Dressed up?" He asked, looking himself over then shook his head, "No more or less then usual." It wasn't often that he dressed up aside from celebrations back home.

The minotaur's gaze then fell upon Francine and he gave a smile, "Its quite alright, "I am sure I am an interesting sight." If any of the other meetings he'd had since leaving his village were to be believed.

Rong leaned forward slightly to get a better look at the one that was standing far belong him on the ground and his eyes, after giving Dakin a once over, paused his on his wings. Now those he found interesting since thus far he hadn't met anyone with wings he thought to himself. He wondered for a moment what wings felt like... despite his curiosity over such things he didn't change his expression in the least, just seemed to be starring.
