For those who are ambitious fighters, wanting to climb the ladder and take a place on the top rungs so that others can envy them: this is the ladder. The Arena Rankings are here to encourage the spirit of the warrior within you, and it is also good training for those of you who wish to become better at RP battling and roleplaying.

The Arena Rankings are a point-based system that rewards effort with cold, hard rank. Points earned are cumulative and will not be reset at the end of the month or even the end of the year. An earned rank is an earned rank, and the only thing that will take it away is no longer fighting.

• Rank Points are only earned for fights taking place in Leviathan Stadium Major and The Original Leviathan Stadium thread. To ensure that your fight is ranked, notify a Ranking Overseer (Kraun, Maximos, TMJ).
  
  
• Arena Rankings assign a rank to a character, not an account. If you have three characters: Joe, Lou, and Ben, but only Ben does any arena fighting, only Ben will be ranked.
  
  
• To qualify for Arena Ranking, your character must have a registration bio posted in the Leviathan Stadium Character Database.
  
  
• Arena Rankings are directly related to the amount of public recognition your character's fighting abilities have IC in the Leviathan Stadium environment.
  
  
• The most efficient way to gain ranking points is by winning fights. However, simply being in a fight will always end in at least 1 point gained (barring certain circumstances) even in an embarrassing loss.
  
  
• Foot in a** Week = Double Points.
  
  
• Arena Ranking will be a factor in HoH entry.

Points -
Points gained through battles will be based upon your rank and the rank of your opponent.

Fighting an opponent 2 or more ranks lower - 0 Points
Fighting an opponent 1 rank lower - 1 Point
Fighting an opponent of equal rank - 2 Points
Fighting an opponent 1 rank higher - 3 Points
Fighting an opponent 2 ranks higher - 4 Points
Fighting an opponent 3 ranks higher - 5 Points
Fighting an opponent 4 ranks higher - 6 Points

A tie awards half the points that a win would (rounded up).
A loss awards 1 point, unless the opponent was of lower rank.

Members of S rank gain only 1 point in combat and only if the opponent is of A or S rank.

Points awarded will be doubled during Foot in a** Week, which will usually be announced as the last week of every month.

Ranks -
Each fighter that does not fight at least once per month loses 10 points for each inactive month.

Rank S - 200 Points
Rank A - 100 Points
Rank B - 60 Points
Rank C - 20 Points
Unranked - 0 Points

Judging -
Fights can be reviewed by the Ranking Overseer staff (Kraun, Maximos, TMJ) for additional points based upon skill. The Overseers rank a fight and give each fighter a score, whoever wins by means of score gets 1 point. If all the judges unanimously agree that one fighter wins by means of skill they receive 3 points. Also, to protect against ze n00bs or abuse of the system, if the Overseers think that one fighter's skill was atrocious that fighter will lose 1 point. If all the judges unanimously agree that one fighter showed a complete lack of skill, that fighter loses all points they would have gained for that fight.

Arena Rankings and HoH -
Placing within a ranked slot is a requirement for entry to the annual Heaven or Hell tournament. Further details will be divulged when the yearly HoH details are released.

Last month's champion was one Ryugi Kazamaru, the reigning champion. And as we now have a champion, the defense rule is now in effect. Each victorious fight against the champion will score an extra bonus point to the challenger, thus the champion is made to stand against the competition.

End result: I'm not even going to bother looking over old fights or anything because I dont have time. No bonusses will be included this month. Tie between Vahn and Ryugi. Either they can fight it out, leave it as that, or something else. Whatever they decide. As a result, the prize letter of March 2005 will be kept by me unless they decide to settle it somehow.

Yeah, I know, I'm late, but whatever, nothing was missed with the wholre place gone...

Well, after an unproductive month, who's up to bleed their blood all over the place?

Why do I say 'all over the place' you ask? Well, because of all the areas thats now around, points count for every battle everywhere, except for in the Etherial Void, because thats more like non-linear fights where a person would be able to use the same chareacter in 2 places at once, so that doesnt count.

However, I'll only point for those who are 'registered' fighters. By 'registered', I mean those who are catagorized and listed in the first post in fighting level categories. Side note: Read the first post for registration information.

With this new change, no longer are non-registered fighters automatically classed as B class. And non-combatant classification has been scrapped as well as anyone not registered will be considered non-combatant. Everyone anywhere (Except for the etherial void) is fair game.

Oh yeah, and about this month's sealed letter... well, y'know, I'm poor. So like, if/when I get enough money to buy a letter, I will so that we have a prize for this month. However, if anyone wants to fund this month by donating a prize, then that would be much appreciated.

And because this doesnt seem like its going anywhere fast, I'm just going to award one sealed letter as a prize for this month and I'm going to save the rest of the pot prizes for the following months. That way, I wont really have to worry about prizes in the future if I can keep a pot up for awards... kinda like credit.

September 2005

Well look at that, a month went by and pretty much nothing happened. Oh well, whatever. Theres always this month... only I'd have to sell that donation letter and buy a new one or something... or maybe I wont even bother with prizes this month, since fighting between characters arent really happening as everyone's doing some story arc thing and I'm saving up prize funds for the upcoming tournament anyways.

Its that time again! Only I'm saving up HoH still. But if I get enough to buy a donation letter for this month, I guess I will and give it to the champ. Boo-ya.

Alright, now that HoH has finished, Rankings are back up. Which means I'll go off and get a sealed envelope for the prize this month.

To promote use of the stadium thread, pointing will only be awarded to fights in the stadium.

As usual, only characters registered into the rankings database are eligible for pointing, also, kep in mind that only characters registered in the arena database may fight in the stadium, and all fights in the stadium are canon.

Final results and a link to the fight should be PMed to a moderator to be added to this thread and counted to keep track of points until the end of the month.
