"Damn it."
Ursula sucked in a breath through her teeth as she leaned closer to her vanity mirror, her finger gingerly massaging the skin under her left eye. It was painful to the touch, and the swelling only made the purplish yellow coloring even more gruesome to behold.
It was beginning to become more dangerous, pulling the stunts she'd been getting away with for the past week. When she'd begun, most people never expected short little girly girls to run up and terrorize them, but now it seemed that everyone was on the lookout. Now, more than ever, people were alert and attentive to their surroundings, which meant it was Ursula who had to watch out in case she was in the presence of the goddamn hero-wannabe type.
Scowling, she moved her hand away from her face and took a step back from the vanity. Wearing nothing but the towel she'd wrapped on after leaving the shower, she examined herself.
Bruises, welts, and even minor cuts were scattered up and down her arms and legs. Her smooth, soft skin had taken so much damage over her escapades that it was painful to simply look at how banged up she'd become.
How long would it be before she slipped up and did some real damage to herself? She'd been lucky when it came to some of these return attacks, and luck had a tendency to run out at the worst of times. Both senshi and humans were on patrol for her, and while that proved her plan was a success, it was also frightening at the same time. Already she'd had at least one near-miss, the paralyzing effects of Sailor Nemesis nearly causing her death as the senshi had found her to be a favored punching bag. Nea had been forced to lie there, unable to move, until by some miraculous force of nature she was rescued by a nearby Obsidian. She'd been ganged up upon by angry mobs, nearly hit by speeding cars, and the worst had to have been when a woman whipped out a handgun and attempted to take care of Nea when she'd tried to snatch the woman's purse.
She shuddered, recalling that brief horrifying moment before she'd realized the woman couldn't shoot to save her life. Just because that woman couldn't shoot, though, didn't mean she was out of danger of becoming a target for other guns. One shot in the right spot would mean the end of everything, and Ursula was not about to leave this world, not when she'd finally been cut a break like this.
Letting out a sigh, she returned to her stool and cracked open her lotion, beginning to apply it liberally over her exposed bruises and sores. Soft fingers began to rub the cream into her skin, and the young woman shook her head.
There was no doubt that she would continue to parade around the city, posing as Sailor Nea. The plan was too good not to continue, the senshi's reputation nearly destroyed thanks to her interference. How long before it would end, however, was still a mystery. Would Charonite tell her to cease and desist when running around as a senshi became too dangerous? Or would he continue to let her get away with it, until her days ran out? Or, god forbid, something else, be it gun or senshi, cut her life short?
One day, she would discover that answer. She could only hope, for her sake, that it would take place in the very very distant future.
