Jin Tian tried not to roll his eyes and bare his teeth at the disgusting display Forney was currently giving. The full grown man was singing at the top of his voice and dashing around on the sidewalk in high spirits with no care for the strange looks that people were giving him. Tian had a feeling the redhead was doing it on purpose.

"Could you please cease your idiotic singing." Tian said lowly for the millionth time. Forney just grinned toothily and continued on his merry, ignorant way. Now, Tian knew for sure that the man was doing it on purpose. The Herald supposed he'd just have to not say anything, knowing Forney probably just wanted to get a rise of out him. To bad no one ever really got a rise out of Jin Tian.

"Where are we going again?" The antlered male asked politely, hands behind his back as he followed the wriggling Forney.

"Host club." Forney replied in a sing-song voice that put Tian's teeth on edge. He looked into the man's freckled face to see if he was kidding. He wasn't. "I want to pick up a new recipe from my friend in the kitchens." He added, frolicking down a nearby alleyway to the back entrance of the high end club.

Jin Tian sighed silently to himself, following his companion and resigning himself to a very long and embarrassing day. He had to wonder though. What was a host club?

His shift had been busy. That brought both good and bad things with it. Good, more tips, actually get to do something other than stand around and try and look awake. Bad, there were even a larger amount of the creepy sort out today, which was...unsettling, at least.

Along with the token spilled drinks and food and just downright bitchy customers, it was an all too long couple of shifts. The last trayful of dishes were dropped into the sink with a sigh, the apron untied from around his waist and draped over his arm. A quick glance at the clock proved that he had enough time to grab something to eat before he needed to be back home. Not that there really was a set time for him to be back, he would just like to get some sleep tonight and take a shower before going to his other job and getting dirty again.

Isn't working great?

A takeout box already full of food was taken from....somewhere, hidden behind stacks of plates and such. And so he found an out of the way corner in the kitchen and began to eat, occasionally trading jibes with the other waiters and kitchen workers between bites.

And such was the glamorous day of a waiter.

Though, as he was rather close to the kitchen door, he could hear the rather offkey singing and the sound of an exasperated person. Well. That was...interesting.

Forney burst into the kitchens through the back door, red hair much to brilliant for his too pale face. "Donovan!" He jingled, looking about for one of the head chefs, happy to bother the man on his cooking shift.

The patisserie glanced behind him as if just remembering that Jin Tian was still following him. "Here Tian." Forney said offhandedly, pushing the male into the very same secluded corner that a bunch of waiters were lounging at. "Just stand here and don't touch anything. I'll be right back." Tian shot Forney an acidic look after having been made to stumble and bump against the waiter sitting closest to the door.

"Pardon me." Tian murmured, voice barely audible through all the sounds in the kitchen. The antlered male's lips were pursed as he turned to watch Forney disappear into a mob of white coats. He crossed his arms, put out after having been treated like some child and looking very out of place in his silk robes.

Lind quickly moved out of the way as the door nearly hit him when it opened, and then had to shuffle over some more as a rather conspicuous looking person was shoved in his general direction. Well. That was...strange. And the person who had been shoved was strange as well. Not that he really had any room to talk himself, but still. There was a mumbled apology from Lind anyways as he had to shuffle around a bit more, finding the space more than a bit awkward what with the wings and all.

Lind watched the new person from the corner of his eye as he finished up the rest of his hurried dinner, noting the horns, the rather odd choice of attire, the hair and the ears that were, well. Those were just adorable and fuzzy, weren't they?

His gaze flickered from the taller person next to him to the person who had shoved him over, eyebrows raising slightly. Wasn't he a bit too old to be bossed around and talked to like that?

If Tian knew any part of him was being seen as adorable, the person thinking said thoughts would be on the floor. It was a good thing that he wasn't a mind reader.

His deer-like ears flickered back and fourth in irritation, trying to convey a loud sigh that would never be uttered. "You did not get hit by that door too, did you?" Jin Tian asked of the hurriedly eating waiter, an almost hopeful tone in his voice.

Well. They're tiny and fuzzy, what else could you call them? But fiiine, if it made him feel better, they're very rugged and manly.

"Hmmmh?" Oh, talking to him. Right, right. The bite of food that was in his mouth was swallowed before he shook his head. "Nah, 's fine." he said, sticking the fork back in his mouth to lick off any remaining food on it. There was a slight pause as he continued to look between the two newcomers. "So," the fork was pulled from his mouth and tossed in the sink, the styrofoam container put in a similar matter into the trash can nearby. "What's with...?" A jerk of his head indicated Forney.

Those "manly" ears flick again. Damn, Tian thought internally. If the waiter had been hit by the door, he would have had a perfect excuse to rat out Forney to Basil. As the case was, he still had nothing legitimate to complain about. He hoped Basil kicked the man out of the house soon anyhow, without his added accusations.

The Herald's pink-ish gaze slid to where the waiter jerked his head at Forney, who was currently talking animatedly with Donovan. Tian couldn't hear what the two were talking about, but he thought it looked like a boring conversation. He glanced back at the scaly waiter, watching him lick at that fork.

"Thinks it is funny." Tian replied with an elegant shrug, turning away again. "He hopes I will explode one of these days and punch him, making him right about me having a temper. He is still waiting." Of course he had a temper, but he wasn't so flippant as to toss it around. Secretly, he was amused by Forney's failed attempts to rile him.

Well. If he kept up with the slamming about, something was bound to go wrong somewhere. Never a good thing to do in a crowded kitchen. What with pointy things and hot things and droppy things.

"Well," he said with a snort, crossing his arms and shifting his weight to one foot. "You know, you can just...not tag along with him if he's just trying to piss you off all the time." Lind shrugged a shrug of his own, though a more teenageish and less than elegant one. He seemed old and competent enough to just go somewhere on his own, at least.

"I've thought of it many time." Tian sighed, hoping that Forney's flailing knocked over a pot of boiling water or something. Uncharitable though, yes, however, it would have made him a very happy male. "However, the fool has no sense of direction and needs someone to lead him. Unfortunately it was my turn to play nurse maid today." Tian didn't snort but looked like he was about to.

"Have you ever had this sort of problem?" He asked.

Well. There is what Lind would do (which would be to tell him to go screw himself), buuuut this person didn't really seem like the type of person to do something like that. "You could just say that you're going to go somewhere else and you can come pick him back up later?"

Lind wrinkled his nose slightly at the question. "Had to babysit a few times, yeah." Not very fond of doing it either. Which might be why he tried to make himself as absent as he could at home, didn't want to get roped into doing that very often.

The last comment had Jin Tian chuckling quietly behind the sleeve of his robe, the action unwittingly coquettish. At least the strange waiter could relate to him. "I suppose I could leave him and come back, but I have no where to go nor anyone to meet. So, it seems rather pointless to do so."

"I am afraid I did not introduce myself properly. My name is Jin Tian." He bowed slightly. "What is your name?"
PostPosted: Wed Oct 21, 2009 8:04 pm

Oh yes. With younger 'siblings', none really related to him (obviously), but still meant that someone had to watch them when Subo and Faras were gone. And that was usually him. Which kinda sucked. "You could go and, yenno," a hand waved vaguely towards the door. "Explore or something."

"Oh, Lind," A brief wave replaced the usual handshake, but seeing as one wasn't offered, and seemed as if it wasn't going to be, so. Wave it will be.

Tian looked rather vexed at the prospect of going off and exploring. He still didn't know very much about the world around him and was often startled by all the new things. He wasn't sure if he would do well by himself.

"It is a pleasure to meet you Lind." Jin Tian replied. He blinked at the offered hand and then the wave, feeling as if he had made a faux paux. "Should I have done something...with my hand?" He asked seriously, wanting to know proper procedure.

That's why you find someone to go with you and explain it all to him, someone that...yenno, didn't try and piss him off. Would help him get more acquainted with this world, as he seemed to be rather...not at the moment.

And...that was an odd question. Though seeing as the rest of his actions were rather odd, it wasn't too out of place. "Shake it," but the response was paired with a shrug, indicating that he didn't find it something too terribly important.

Jin Tian thought the handshaking was very, very important. With a serious face, he held out his hand towards Lind. "Let us shake in greeting then." The male said. He wanted to learn and experience everything, mostly because he hoped that by doing so he would be able to remember a little but about himself.
