Ow, ow owoww. Why were her ankles so sore? She and her family had barely traveled so far, and already she was wearing down? Nonsense! She could handle a simple walking, so what was it?
These were the thoughts that gathered in the girl's mind as she rested, reclined against a grassy slope while her herd of brothers napped beside her mother at the base of a nearby tree. As usual, Hinei found it in herself to wanna make watch over her family, even if they could well take care of themselves. A natural instinct perhaps, gathered from her mother. Sighing, she glanced down as she continued massaging her left paw. Hmm, maybe it was from her tumble earlier while they were rough housing? Mother had told them to be careful, though the girl hadn't expected to be sent flying at one of her brother's strong swing. Not that she blamed him....she should have known better than jumping in that mess of brown furs that were her brothers. Still, it had been fun even if it did cause her a rough landing!
Glancing up at the midday sun, the lioness sighed once again. True she wasn't bored...but she hated waiting around for too long, despite her patience. Blinking and remaining quite, she decided to spend her time looking down in amusement at a grazing herd of antelope. The mix of colors and movement was enough to keep her awake and focused in the otherwise silent calm...

Usi had once more found some time to wander away for a bit. He loved the chances that he found to just get up and walk. He loved these kinds of days, they were his favorite. He grinned slightly as he trotted toward one of his favorite places where he could wander. It was a place that his step-sister Miw showed him Miw was one that always wanted to wander, it was just the way that he was. He always thought that it was amusing how she always wanted to wander around and of course him loving his family he liked to tag along. With the big family that he had there was always some one to hang out with and spend time with. So that's then he took his chances to go and play around, even if one of his family wasn't there to join him.
He let out a small yawn before he looked around, he kind of wanted to find some one to hang out with or some one to spend some time with, he always liked ot have some one to play with or hang out with. He trotted a little faster as he looked around for a place for him to go to. There had to be some one around here also looking for something to do. So thats what he was doing today wandering around to find some one to play with.
He looked around before pausing some one catching his eyes, they had a darker coat... Stripes. And they looked the same age as himself. He wandered over to the female with a grin on his face before nodding toward her. "Hi there!" He smirked before wigging around a bit as he looked at her.

Oh?
Eyes widened slightly as some of the herd seemed to jolt into alert, their long necks craning up to look around. It wasn't long before the whole herd was searching and in groups of three began to prance away from the scene. Did they smell her and think her a threat? It was then that she thought to focus on her own nose, sniffing the air. Well...it did smell slightly different but she couldn't tell how. And that's when she heard a voice.
Dotted ears cocked back as the lioness realized just how close the voice was. Still lounging, Hinei tilted her chin to look to her far side at the source. Why, it was another cub. "Hello there." She tossed a grin before looking back to the retreating antelope. She felt no dangerous intent from the other youth, and found it almost funny. To think that prey could be scared of two small felines.
"Just look how fast they move, without even trying." And to think, someday she'd be taught how to hunt such creatures on her own. But for now that sort of speed and agility was beyond her abilities. Shaking her head, the girl faced the other once again. "Heh, I'm sorry. My name is Shina'nohinei. Or....rather just Hinei."

Usi looked at the other lioness with the grin on his face expanding more and more. He was glad to have found company. He moved closer to her a bit before bowing his head slightly to her acknowledgement. "Sorry if I scared them away from you!" He squeaked slightly pawing at her before turning toward them and laughing a bit. She had a pretty good point, he was surprised to see them run so easily. His ears and nose twitched at the sounds and smells they left with. He just ate not that long ago, yet the smell of a meal was always good to him. It was always something that he enjoyed.
He flicked his tail out before he flopped down on the ground his eyes bright with excitement. He flicked some of the dirt off of his tail, brushing off his rump a bit before turning toward her with a grin on his face. "It's alright Hinei!" He smirked a bit before nodding toward her. "My name is Usi." He looked around before looking at her again. "Do you have a mommy around here?" He asked curiously. It was always odd for him to see others his age around with out their parents not that far away... There were very few that were brave enough to wander away from their parents in the fashion that he did.

"Hah, they were nowhere near me." But she nodded to his apology all the same, even if she leaned away with a blink to his pawing. Not that she was offended, she just didn't have anymore energy to spend on another cub. Her brothers already proved to be enough for energy wasting. Smiling, Hinei watched as the herd grew smaller and smaller in the distance. All that was left was the small dust storm from their hooves.
Catching sight of the others tail flicking, the girl couldn't help but do the same. A feline habit that was hard to break or even be aware of. "Usi?" She blinked and tilted her head. "That's a really odd sound...er, name. Does it mean anything in specific?"
A nod came from the lioness as she glanced to her far left, where the thin tree stood. "Yes, my mother is always nearby." Then she gave a chiming laugh while shaking her head. "If not her then always one of my brothers." It really could be a pain, when she stopped to think of it. No freedom to have with so many eyes guarding her.
"Are your parents nearby too?"

"Alright then that makes me feel better."
Usi nodded at the female with a smile. "Usi means smoke." He was glad to see he wasn't the only one interested in other's names. He always loved to find out what they ment. "It's a really simple name but i like it. My mom says I kind of look like smoke." He beamed at the idea, he was proud at his idea. At first he was a little jealous that he didn't have that long name like many of the others that he had. "What does yours mean... If you know?" He asked as he wiggled around a little bit.
He then looked around a bit before shrugging. "Thats not fun, having some one watch you." He then shook his head. "No I wandered a way for a little bit." He smiled slightly once more. He knew his mother didn't like it when he wandered away but some times he couldn't help it. He loved wandering away from his family not matter how much he loved them. He always loved his family, however he had to make new friends some times.

"Really?" The girl tilted her head to his relief. Maybe he enjoyed the comfort of adults nearby as a sort of guard system.
Ah, smoke then. A quick glance to his dark coat made it an accurate name, that was for sure. "Your mother is right. And it really is simple to remember, that must be nice for you." Sometimes it was a mouthful to meet new lions and try to pronounce their longer names. But to each their own.
"My name? Well, Shinda is part of my fathers name. And the rest means 'only one', since I'm the only girl in the family." At this she puffed her cheeks almost in frustration. It wasn't always fun, being stuck with a bunch of brothers and having no sister to chatter with. But she'd get by; after all she still had mother. Blinking, Hinei flicked her tail as Usi spoke. "Wandering eh? I don't think my mother would like that stress! But it does sound like fun to learn things your own way..."

He leaned back and lifted his back leg, scratching behind his ear before nodding at her. "Of course your name silly." He chuckled a bit then listened to her and blinked a bit. "Your the only girl? Wow. I have..." He thought for a moment doing a count in his head. "I have two sisters and... Five brothers." He flashed a large grin at her and nodded a few times. He flicked his tail around a few times then nodded toward her.
"Yeah, I love wandering, and so does my sister." He chuckled a bit before smiling softly to her. "She was the one who taught me how to start wander away with out getting caught. My mom didn't like it at first but after a while she didn't mind." He laughed again before nipping at her slightly. "It doesn't hurt to wander some times. You should try it some times... You might get into trouble but it's worth it. Just keep track of you paths and stuff." He laughed slightly before licking his lips.

The girl chuckled and shook her head as she sat upright. "Seems it's normal to have big families, eh? Sooo many siblings to care for." She sighed softly and stretched out her front legs, wriggling her tiny claws as she did so. "Haha, hey you wouldn't be up for trading a sister with one of my brothers, would you?" Hinei grinned as she listened to some of Usi's story. "Hm, so long as no one gets hurt while exploring. Mother says there are some mighty strong and mean predators out there. You haven't ever bumped into one?" She 'eeped' lightly as he nipped at her, lifting a paw and fwapping at him harmlessly. "Stop that, it tickles!" xD

Usi made a bit of a small face before shaking his head. "Normally I would say yes, but I don't think you would want them. One of the would be really grumpy all the time and the other one never wants to do anything." He huffed then swiped at the ground. "And I hate to say it but I love them anyway." He sighed before looking at her again. "Oh! I'm really used to big family, I have two other sisters and two brothers that don't live with us." He nodded but then shrugged. "But The ones that are around now is enough." He sat back and started to think for a moment. "You should join my family!" He giggled slightly but then sat back on his haunches.
"There are some big predators around... But I make sure to stay away from them." He nodded again before shaking his mane out of his eyes. "If you are careful enough you can find places that are safe from others. There are plenty around here that you can go to and be safe." He chuckled slightly before flashing a slightly bigger grin. "But it's fun!" He nipped at her again before bouncing back and wiggling his rump and tail in the air offering for her to play with him.

"Wow, they sound like siblings." She chuckled, almost able to see some of those traits in her own brothers. But then she blinked with a tilt of her head, confused by Usi's sudden attitude. "Oh? Why would you hate to say that? Is it an embarrassing thing to talk about?" Wouldn't the family be happy and eager to hear such things? Come to think of it....did she say it enough to her own family?
"Oh?" Hinei laughed and wriggled her tail at the idea. "I can't join your family silly! We have different parents and homelands. But it'd be cool to visit someday perhaps?" Though the mention of predators had her mind focused on her surrounding as the girl sent a cautionary glance left and right. "I guess this place is safe enough, since the herds look calm too." And she nodded towards the herds grazing down the hill once more.
"Ohr, hey!" She fwapped a paw through the air but was too slow as Usi jumped back. And at that she leaped up to try to pounce at the cub.
