Alihi stood at the city's gates, staring ahead. Hanging from her belt was her rapier, returned to her after a short, painless interrogation of her brother and a much more painful climbing of a tree. At the thought of the not-so-fun experience, she plucked yet another leaf out of her hair, holding it between her thumb and pointer finger before releasing it. The leaf drifted off with a sudden breeze, her cloak swaying with the wind. A quiet sigh escaped her lips and she chomped down on the piece of bread in her hand, the first real thing she ate the whole day, unless one counted the few bites of cake she had.

It was almost an hour since she made the announcement. Her heart pounded with nervousness as she glanced around the area. "Who will actually come...?" She asked aloud, despite the fact that there were little people around her. Not even Akihi was here yet, even though he assured her that he would be there. Her expression filled with worry as she nervously ate the bread in her hand, waiting for someone to arrive. "Amara..."

The news had spread fast and without a second thought. Ephraim already decided he would be joining the Tactician in her journey to find her daughter. The last thing he needed was his trusty spear, Reginlief which hung on his wall ever since he got here. This may be a good time to use it anyhow. Ephraim plucked it off the wall and flung it over his shoulder before leaving his room. The hat which Amara wore earlier was in his left hand which he put on before leaving.

"The gate...That's where they're meeting" he recalled from the news that Alihi was looking for people to go with her.

It didn't take him that long to walk from the town down to the gate. About a five minute walk to be more accurate. He arrived a little after Alihi did and spotted her standing out with the green cloak she wore.

Ephraim breathed, taking a deep breath and approached her. "I hope you don't mind my company" quietly asking, standing a little behind her while leaning against his spear.

An hour was less time than Blossom had thought, especially when she picked Lysander up from its spot against her wall and found that the blade was horribly dull. It seemed that enough training with Chickenwire and Clang without thinking to re-sharpen the blade had eventually caught up to her. Blossom had no idea if there was enough time to sit down and sharpen it back to proper working order. Her eyes at that point landed on Vezra in its resting place, and Blossom mused for just a second. The weapon was hers, after all; no one on the Crew had tried to take it from her. So why not use it?

A few minutes later, Blossom was running for the gates, the gigantic sword strapped onto her back and her pack slung over one shoulder, banging into her hip with each step. She hadn't even bothered changing into normal clothes. Should I have? Is it a bad thing that I'm off to go on a reconnaissance mission and I'm wearing a pirate costume? Then again, it'd make me less recognizable... wouldn't it? Maybe it's a good thing. Oh, nevermind.

Blossom skidded to a halt next to Alihi, her smile hesitant. "Hey," she panted, adjusting her bandanna. She drew Alihi into a hug again, then adjusted the strap that attached Vezra to her back. "Only Ephraim's arrived so far..." she said to herself, offering the lancer a wave.

Deborah was leaning against the left side of the city gates, with her arms folded. Resting beside her was her wooden spear from her homeland of Kafti, back in Elibe. It was uncertain how long she had been there, but she looked well equipped, and she was clearly ready to leave.

She straightened up and walked over to where Alihi was standing, acknowledging that the time for departure must be at hand. "I been chosen tah guide ya trough teh desert. Name's Deborah. Dat's all ya need to know for now." Deborah wasn't intending on getting close to anybody in this group. She was here to do a job, and get the reward of success. She turned and looked into the city. "...Looks like ya company is on its way."

Alihi smiled at Ephraim, shaking her head slowly. "I don't mind! The more, the better..." Upon hearing Blossom's voice, she turned around, grinning. "Blossom!" She hugged her friend in return. "I'm glad you're here..."

Next, the tactician turned to Deborah as she heard her approach. "Yes, I'm the tactician. My name's Alihi." Her head tilted to the side slightly, the smile on her face having yet to fade. "You're our guide? I'm glad..." She turned back towards the city. This is turning better than I expected...

Supplies had been gathered. Clothes had been washed and packed (what, did they honestly believe it would take a day to reach the destination? Of course clothes were needed for this many day journey). The inn had its pay for the room he was staying in. Once again, his ties to Eyris had been severed for more wandering. This time, it was for a rogue operation into Sentria, the desert lands. Perhaps he could find his answer there as to the whereabouts of the elusive figure he had been searching for the past year now. But first things first, there was a child to find.

Dressed in a traveling cloak, light colored clothing, and his usual armor (he had the shoulder guards removed to wear the cloak a little more easily. After all, they were headed into the desert. It would be smart to dress lightly when they got there), the young lord had arrived at the gate. His faithful weapon, the SoS, was on his person this time (it had proven to be very useful during his time alone in the wilderness, serving as a light to start campfires, to light torches to see at night, to rid pursuers that tried to rob him, to deal with wild animals that tried to eat him, etc.), as was a rapier, both sheathed in their usual spots on his waist. Odd, considering he preferred magical swords over regular ones, but this would make it easier for him, not to mention it had many more uses than a Wind Blade would give him.

Roy could already see a small group forming at the gate. There was Ephraim, Blossom, and Alihi. There was a sniper and a dark-skinned woman he didn't recognize, but had a feeling he'd get to know their names later on. The others would be arriving shortly, so he approached the tactician.

"Hey. Let's hope everything works out." he told Alihi with a small smile.

He had his reasons for coming, but then again, he also wanted to help out. After all, Alihi was a mother, and the young lord knew all too well that his own Mother would pull something like this if he were the one kidnapped instead of the small girl. He had a feeling the dancer would show up here, so all the more reason to come along. After all, his Mother was injured. Someone had to look after her to make sure she didn't push herself. This was probably the best option after all. Just kill three birds with one stone: explore outside Eyris for the elusive figure he had been searching for for so long, spend time with his Mother, and help the tactician find her daughter.

He sighed before he leaned against the gate itself, waiting for the others.

xxxxx"If you're worried about surviving, xxxxxxxyou can worry about it after you're dead!"
"The wyvern riders of Bern sit atop the heap of all other forces on the continent!" xxxxx "You will see our power soon!"

"W-what do you mean sever ties?! I'm... I'm out of the guard...?" Mihira's face grew cold, and became red in certain places. "I'm sorry I disobeyed.... Please, don't kick me out!"

"Pipe down!" Vaida scolded, in response. "You're not being kicked out of anything. All who are going cannot show that they are a part of Learania. You have to go, because you're the only one who knows where the tower is. It's temporary."

Mihira sniffed. "Oh..." she was relieved that her fears weren't true. She had no idea what she would do, if she actually was kicked out. She had nowhere to go, nobody to confide in. She would be lost in all sense of the word. "..I understand. I'll do my best!"

"Yes. You will." Vaida approached her, and put her hand on top of the pendant that signified Mihira's position in the Guard. "...I'll have to take this for now. And here, this is for you." Vaida begrudgingly took off the pendant and put it away, after giving her a cloak to wear. She then turned around and took a few steps away. "Now go! Remember that your honor is on the line! Be successful! ...Be safe." She left the room.

Mihira grew sad as her pendant was taken from her. She knew it was necessary, but it still hurt. Still, there was no time for sorrow. She had to get ready and get to the city gates, as soon as possible. Her wyvern had already been prepped, and all she needed was her lance and a few essentials. She put on the cloak and hurried off. "..I can do this. I can!"

Once she was ready, it was practically no time at all before her wyvern was in the air, and on its way to the city gates, where it arrived shortly after takeoff. Mihira dismounted, and approached the ones who had already shown up. She recognized Alihi and smiled. "H-hello.. I'm Mihira... The scout who found out where the kidnapper went." She bowed her head out of respect for the tactician."I will make sure we get to our intended location!"

Joshua had reached the gates not long after stopping by his home (Much different then the palace thankfully) and picked up two very special items. Reaching the gate he nodded at the women whom had asked them all to come. "I'm Joshua. I came from the desert so I figured you could use my expertise." He looked over her shoulder and started as he saw a familer blue head. "Ephraim?" He asked surprised. "Whos running Renais if your here is your sister alone?" Joshua was surprised he had met Ephraim during the war of the stones and had enjoyed the mans company they really were alike when you got down to it. He just hoped the man didn't blow Joshua's secret about being royal.. well not that it really was a secret just... not need to know his fears went unfound for five seconds later... "Oof!" Joshua grunted as something blasted into him knocking him off balance and causing his hat to slid down over his eyes.

"Ahh sorry!" Jaren said to the tall man he had hit before rounding on Alihi. "You! I found you! You're Alihi right? I-I have a question for you! Its----..... Oh... umm what was it?" The green haired man put his hand on his chin as he turned his back on the taction "Oh right whats your favorite food!... No! Thats wrong! Ummm your daughter! Did she have any realtionship with the man who was stabbed." Before he could get an answer he noticed all the serious looking armed people. "Arrrem? Whats going on here? Oh! Hi Roy!"

"Agh, Charice, there ye be, come in. Wha's wrong? Ye look mare serious tha' usual." Ghis, the Co-Captain of the Watch, looked up as Charice walked in, dressed in... loose white cloth robes and a white cloth mask, hiding most of her face from view.

They didn't happen often, but a recollection in Ghis' head revealed that she was from Sentria, the bordering desert nation. He knew very little about that place--Sentria was perhaps the last place in the world a General wanted to be, save perhaps a vast body of water--but he recalled the first time Charice had joined the Watch. She'd joined in... well, these robes looked a little longer--maybe she'd grown a bit and needed a new pair--but they were remarkably similar to the robes she'd had when she'd first joined.

"C-Captain. I..." How to find the words? "...You know what happened. The abduction, surrounded by the Watch and the Guard. At the time, I felt disgraced. I was right there, and still let her escape.

"Charice... ye said yerself, the wench took a hostage," Ghis responded grimly. Ah doon't know if ah would've stayed m' hand anyway, but--ach, tha's why ah wasn' there. "There'd been nothin' ye coulda done."

"Maybe not at the time. But now I hear the kidnapper's been spotted in Sentria, and the mother is recruiting a rescue team for her. But Sentria is all desert sand--mostly magic users and fliers do well there. She'll need someone who can both fly and resist magical power. Wyverns can fly, but they're largely garbage against magic. She'll need me. I'm sure of it."

Ye sure tha's no' jus' yer pride talkin'? But regardless of whether Charice was acting out of concern for the mother or merely out of her own wounded pride, it seemed...
"Well. Yer aready dressed n' rarin' tae go. Th' blazes ye doin' i' here? Go on. Get out of here! Jus' doon't expect tae be paid while yer gone."
As she thanked him and ran out, he added after her, "An' fer goodness' sakes, return alive, will ya!?"

Gosh, there are a lot of people already gathered... but no magicians, by the look of them. And only one flier. I hope this tower of theirs isn't far. Her pegasus circled around, landing a bit more swiftly than Charice cared for, taking a few seconds at a trot before bringing it to a stop at Alihi's right side. "Sorry about the landing," she said to the group at large, glad nobody had been run over in the process. "I'm Charice of the Eyris Watch. If it's acceptable, I'd like to assist in this rescue," she said to Alihi, glad she hadn't been too late to (hopefully) take part in this mission.

Ephraim could tell that Alihi was trying to hide bits and pieces of her emotions down inside, but it was understandable. He returned he wave to Blossom and gave Roy a small nod, kind gesture of greeting really.

He spotted Joshua talking to Alihi then suddenly, his attention turned o he prince himself.

"Whos running Renais? If your here, is your sister alone?"

Those words came outta the Jehanna king himself. "Surprised you finally noticed me" Ephraim commened, pushing the tip of his hat upwards a little. "I should say the same about you. Whose running Jehanna?" Sure, he had been with Joshua during the war. It was the same with Amelia, though Ephraim hadn't really seen her since the anniversery.

Ephraim pushed off his spear and walked up to the left of Joshua. He placed a hand on his shoulder and whispered "Its no secret by the way" he commented "They know I'm a prince and they know you are as well. No point in hiding it" with that comment "But I'm not saying blurt it out. Just no need to be tense" Ephraim patted the red-headed king on his shoulder then suddenly turned his attention to the boy accompanying Joshua. A bit irritated at his..rather..cheery attitude and he fact that he was SPEAKING of Amara in front of an already vengeful mother was beyond him. Ephraim raised his spear and suddenly whacked him over the head. "Hey!" he called, annoyance written all over his face. "I suggest you tone it down a notch if you want to live" course that didn't mean he was goign to kill him. No sir, something like that was no Ephraim's style to do. But for his sake, he might annoy or already have annoyed others ha already want his head.

((Bugger, I forgot abou Elly lol ))

OOH! Great! She had followed that tactician earlier and in a matter of seconds she was gone! Where was this place anyways?? Elly questioned, looking around her surroundings. Though if the sniper recalled, Alihi metioned to..gather a the..gate? Wherever that meant. Perhaps she'll find a bunch of people gathere and

"Ah!" She perked up, spotting the group slowly starting to gather. Roy was already here, go figure. There were others she couldn't name either but that the cow pers-WAIT, WHY WAS HE HERE. Nevermind! Elly was going to avoid him anyhow. Slowly, she moved her way to approach Alihi, giving her a rather..quiet and shy greeting. "Um...M-Miss..Alihi? I-I'm Elhaym Grants..Elly..will do" Girl, calm yourself. It wasn't like this tactician was going to bite her head off. "I...do not know..the entire situation..b-but! I-if I can be of help..th-then my bow is yours to command" Now was that so hard? Apparanly to Elly it was like talking to a commanding officer and quite truthfully, this would be her 2nd official battle...one with company!

I shall now demonstrate the Law of Sacae
Tribesmen fighting with all they have for the sake of one another!

~)Sue(~

Sue was another to join Alihi's call to arms, going towards Sentria. So far, they had a good amount of people, so being outnumbered wasn't likely. Even if most horses detested the sands, Andre was nomadic and could go a little further then them. Trudging through rough terrain was a specialty of Nomadic Troopers and their steeds, for they lived one with nature.

Sue was taking no chances. She remembered the silver sword, Miugre, a Killing Edge and a Killer bow. This campaign was likely to be dangerous, as the enemy raven did slip past Eyris's defenses (that had been getting more fortified upon each holiday). "I'm here... Alihi. If you have a plan, I will hear it, and follow your every order."

Familiar and unfamiliar faces alike were in the group. General Roy, Blossom, and then the woman Deborah were just amongst the ones Sue recognized.

~Ninian~

Of course I haven’t forgotten you, she thought, Eliwood’s words echoing in her head as she packed for the journey. She wore a simple sleeveless blue dress, white boots that were flexible enough for her to dance in, and all four rings on her fingers. Her pack rested on her bed, Briseschal and her own scarf folded and packed tightly inside next to elixirs, bandaging, and food that would not spoil if uneaten for a few days. Tying the pack shut after double checking the contents, she carefully set it about her waist. She had already gone to the healers and had them check on her eye, the last of her wounds yet to heal. Though they had advised against wandering in the Sentrian desert, Ninian would go wherever they needed if it meant they could save Alihi.

Pack in place, Ninian wrapped a cloak around her shoulders. This cloak was shorter than most, but its hood would protect her pale skin from the desert heat, and the fabric of both cloak and dress were light and thin. She knew that—as an ice dragon—it was sheer folly to even think of entering a desert, but if that was where Amara was, she had no choice. She would not let Alihi feel the pain of a mother who’s lost her child any longer. That was a pain no one should feel.

Her fingers fumbled with the catch of her cloak as she thought of her first days in Learania. Knowing that she might never see Eliwood again hurt, but that was nothing compared to the pain of losing her son. Roy’s sudden appearance in this strange land had saved Ninian. Having Nils here was a blessing, but Roy’s presence—even if he was a lot older than the five year old child she had known—was of great comfort to her.

And yet, today she had seen Eliwood. He had spoken to her, called her name, and smiled her favorite smile, the smile she had known so well.

Of course I haven’t forgotten you, Eliwood. How could I, when I see your face in my dreams every night, hear your voice with every breeze, feel your touch every time I hold my scarf or see my ringless finger? The tears continued to fall as she looked down at her left ring finger.

But he hadn’t noticed Roy.

"Of course it's me," he had whispered, his hand reaching for her. But she had fled, not daring to even hope that it was him. And no one else had seemed to see him either.

Who was he? Eliwood? Or some apparition come to haunt her waking hours as well as her sleeping? Was she finally going mad?

He looked like the Eliwood he had been years ago, the day she had met him on the ship sailing to Valor, the Dread Isle. He did not look like the Eliwood she had last seen that night at the party in celebration of their anniversary.

He looked like the Eliwood who haunted her dreams.

She wiped away her tears. She had heard Eliwood calling out to her, but had chosen to ignore him, not daring to hope after all this time. She was just beginning to accept that she might never see him again, and now this? What was she supposed to think? What was she supposed to do?

And yet, the confusion in his voice had hurt her. She felt like she was hurting him.

But what if he’s not real?

And thus she had retreated to her room to prepare herself for the journey, looking back only once. But then she no longer felt his presence, and he was not there when she had looked for him.

Maybe he . . . was never there, she thought, letting the tears overflow. He’s never been there before. Why should he suddenly be here now?

She let herself cry a few moments longer. Then, taking a deep breath and wiping away the tears, she marched out of her room and towards the city gates to meet Alihi and everyone else who would join in the rescue of Amara.

When she arrived, others were already waiting. There was Roy, Ephraim, Blossom, Sue, and Alihi, and also two women and three men Ninian didn’t know. She approached Alihi.

"Alihi, I’m coming with you," she told the tactician. "Do not worry about me. We have to rescue Amara." She moved to stand beside Roy. No way was she going to stay behind if she could help Amara in any way, however small.

She looked at the group, and found that she knew very little of them. She recognized Mihira from the guard, and... wonderful, Rath's daughter. If he sent her to make sure Deborah did her job, she was going to be mad. The rest of the people were a mixture of familiar faces and faces even newer to Learania than hers. She didn't really care, though. She just wanted to get going.

This was annoyingly tedious. It was already around noontime, and they would only make it to the border, before nightfall. Although, that would more than likely be a good thing. The desert was freezing at night, and it was very dangerous for travelers to sleep. If they weren't careful, they would end up waking up buried under five feet of sand... or not wake up at all.

Thinking about it almost made Deborah forget about the tediousness around her. She must have found this all to be especially boring, if she started daydreaming. But, she snapped out of it and addressed the group. "Hey!" She called out. "While you people sit 'ere an talk, dah day passes by. Ya got two legs. Ya can use em' while ya talk." She turned and started walked down the road. "I be makin' my way to Sentria. Anybody who intends to go dere as well, ya better hurry up and hollow." Not the most friendly way of saying they should get going, but it was just as effective.
