 It had been a long night. The longest he had in a long time. The winter months had just ended, all that was once dead was now becoming in bloom. Not even the sight of this beauty could lighten his mood. He had been on his own for a while now, his mother had taken it the hardest but he had promised to visit every now and then which seemed to please her. Now, one he had not heard from was his brother, Auberon or his father but understandable they probably had moved on as well.
He stretched out his wings recalling the past when a flash of memory struck him so hard he paused. Pain. A forgotten, buried memory of a young mare, a cave, and something else that was unrecognizable. He shook his head rapidly to clear way the emotions that that flash brought.
He was older now, more capable of surviving on his own but lonely... so lonely. It had been awhile since he came into contact with anyone worth having a conversation with. His growling stomach reminded him that it was past the usual time he ate and with that he made his journey back to the familiar watering hole he had been using since he was a young foal.

Renesme walked on the familar ground once more, Alice and Jasper had decided it was time to move on again and hoped that their old home would bring them welcome once more. Of course she knew that they also secretly hoped that she had forgotten all about the young stallion that she had revealed her skills to -be it accidentally. Of course that was not the case, instead she found herself intregued- in all her time no one outside of her family seemed as accepting of her strange ability. She had heard that most of the Angeni bore special skills but she was not a true Angeni but something else... something more complicated.
It had been two weeks now since they had arrived, and although she had strayed from her new home to the familar river it seemed abandoned by her friends presence. Rune. It was such a simple name, yet held fond memories. She only wished that she had been able to check on his injury the morning after their exploration instead of being forced to move on to a new place, to new soquili, away from her heart. And so she stood beside the familar river as it stumbled and flowed over the rocky bed, it was so clear and light looking that she was sure all the peace and happiness of the world was locked within its sleek surface. Closing her eyes she lowered her lips to the water and took a small sip, "I wish-" she hesitated, perhaps he wouldn't want to see her? Perhaps he was already taken? Perhaps -and she feared this one the most- he had already past from this world? Despite all of this she couldn't stop herself. "-I could see Rune once more!"
Slowly she opened her eyes and looked around -half expecting her plan to work. But of course that was not her luck, she was as alone as she had been moments before- perhaps she would be best to try again in the light of day? And so she turned and left for the thick line of trees that introduced the forest. Maybe some food would settle her stomach and calm her mind?

Rune continued his way down the dirt path humming along with the wind about to pass the stone wall entrance that lead into the hidden water hole, when the sound of chimes rung in the air. Eyes widening he paused yet again, straining his eyes to catch a glimps of what was making that sound. He ventured closer moving slowly at first and then gaining speed, desperation coming out of no where. 'I-it couldn't be! She's been gone so long and now? Is it just my imagination playing a cruel trick on me?'
He made it to the shoreline, looking left and right. Nothing. Disappointment filled him. Just emptiness for miles with only trees and squirrels in sight. Rune stomped his hoof on the stone ground in a flash of brief anger startling the birds and squirrels near by, tweekers and flapping of wings breaking the silence.
Rune sighed. " Wake up Rune, she's probably better off. Probably has a mate or family of her own by now." He turned his body towards the water to stare off in the distances, hunger faded away into nothing.

It didn't take long to find food, the forest seemed to be covered in a healthy growth of berries and fruit as well as small creatures, but tonight she felt like fruit. It reminded her more of Rune than her other side, blood was only something she took these days when she felt ill -too savage perhaps? Sighing she took a mouthful of berries, they where delicate and juicey a tenderness she missed as they flowed gently down her throat. Slowly she closed her eyes, time seemed to stand still and for a moment she could see herself and Rune as foals flying over the river, eating berries and running from the cave -wounds and all. How foolish she had been. Yet after all this time one thing struck her -WHY was this single memory seemingly more important than all the others? Why was she drawn to them -like a ghost whispering through the sands of time controlling her destiny? Renesme was not usually one to go with such silly concepts yet she felt there was definatly something she needed to do, a reason why she needed to see him -if only one final time.
And so she took another mouthful of the delicate fruit, the juice sliding effortlessly down her throat like water cascading over a waterfall. Distratced by her throughts and the taste Renesme found herself suddenly startled by the rustling of a plant nearby, usually she would see it for what it was -an animal running in the night or hunting- but for some reason her heart began to race and panic set in. Why did she need to be afraid of? Yet it didn't seem to matter and soon she was running back -away from the forest- towards the river again. Heart racing. Bells ringing. Tears welling up in her eyes.... maybe an evil lurked in the forest like it did with the cave? Maybe it had come back for her after all?
Painic melted into nothingness as the first of her hooves entered the clearing surrounding the river once more. She looked behind her, it seemed that there was nothing there at all except trees, leaves and dirt. Nothing. She had been scared by a mere shadow -a thought. How pathetic -cursing under her breath she stepped fully into the opening and raised her head again only to freeze. Could it be? Before her was a handsome stallion -short blue hair and a pelt of blue and yellow with beautiful blue rune marks etched upon the surface. Could it be? Apprehensively she spoke, her voice trembling -"Rune?"

Startled out of his thoughts, he jumped at the sudden voice. With wide eyes he turned around in shock. No. I-it couldn't be. It just couldn't be- "Rene?" (GIRL S'UP! lol nah i kid) He blinked his eyes in disbelief, after all this time, after all the endless hoping, and giving up... Now stood this stunning vision of loveliness, his Rene. Time had been really kind to her it seemed, as he looked her over. She glowed with maturity and beauty. Her hair was longer, a lovely color of honey-brown and ribbons everywhere. He chuckled at how cute they looked, the ribbon's suited her as well as the other accessories she had on- His thought process stopped as he looked at her mouth. Ah, those fangs seemed to have grown. But like the ribbons the fangs suited her as well, they went quite nicely with her ivory complexion.
" W-what," Rune stumbled over his words. " Rene, wow you have grown!" He paused and closed his eyes feeling the blush come across his face. He took a deep breath to calm himself and said the first thing that came to his mind, " Its been a long time, how have you been? "
