"She's a fallen angel, landing on earth by accident, but the fall had torn her wings into six, three sets of wings. He is a thief, and a sneaky one at that. What happens if he runs into her?"

What had just happened....

"Ah, Midnight in Atheras. Nothing better." Marcus liked to talk to himself as he "Worked" The city of Atheras was, for lack of a better word, amazing. Almost all of the Buildings, and shops were made of either white marble, or polished granite. Each house looked like small palace. Even homes in the "slums" were made of fine, polished wood. Needless to say, this was the richest city on the continent. It was Marcus' favorite place to steal from. He always made a great profit, but sadly for him, security here was tight enough, that he had to wait almost a year before his face would be forgotten, so he always stole big. He decided to case a jewelery shop filled with expensive gold, and silver, and gems. He was in, and out in a matter of minutes, and was now at his usual entrance, and exit to the city. He took about another minute to open the small water grate, and crawl under the wall, and out the other side. Then he was off, down the road to another large city to sell what he got.

Ayangelica deflected off a hit as she forced off another devil. She then spotted her target, the commander of the invading army. She soared over to him quickly as she launched and attack on on him. Their weapons started clashing together as she fought head on, avoid blows from the other enemies. She then quickly dodged another sword as she flipped over her target, turning around to stab the winning blow. Bad Idea. She had misjudged her target and messed up her timing due to the sword. She was now forced on the floor as she heard evil laughter above her. What happened next, was too painful and to quick to tell. All she was able to comprehend was two cuts, probably large, on both of her wings. Then wind rushing past her as she fell. She then heard faint yelling before she slipped into unconsciousness, "Ayan!!!"

Marcus walked along the road just staring up at the cloudy sky. He wanted to more closely examine his take, but knew he had to get futher away from the city first. As he walked, and stared at the sky he noticed a glint among the clouds. At first he mistook it for a shimmer of starlight escaping the cover of the clouds, But when he looked closer, he noticed it was below the clouds, and was in fact falling towards the surface. He began jogging to where he assumed the falling... thing would land, and knew it would hit before he got there. "That's fine" He said to himself. He didn't want to be there when it hit anyway.

Ayangelica crashed to the ground, the impact making her painfully wake up, 'Where am I?..' Her throbbing wings reminded her what had happened as she noticed blood dripping on the grass. She flapped her wings as gently as she could, blood spraying nearly everywhere. She allowed a minor healing spell take over, as her cuts healed but the larger ones, like the scab running down her left arm. Something felt out of place though, and she craned her head around as best as she could to look at her wings. What she saw was frightening: her wings had been torn, and had split into six, not to mention that it looked like a bloody mess. 'No, no, No! This can't be happening' She turned back around as she stabbed her sword into the ground. She had to twist her arm into an awkward angle in order to do so, since the sword was attached to her arm in the first place. She managed to get to her knees, but felt too tired, and torn, to even try to stand.

Marcus arrived in time to get sprayed with a few drops of blood as whatever was inside the small crater moved about. He took a tentative peek over the edge, and couldn't believe his eyes. What is an angel doing here? And I thought they were only supposed to have one set of wings... Why does this one have three? Gah... I should really just leave the thing. What good could come of this? Then again, not helping an angel could have worse repurcussions... Damn. He slid down into the hole, and touched the angel's shoulder, and said "Can you stand?"

Ayangelica flinched away from Marcus, as she stood up, or tried to. She fell on her back as she quickly sat back up, holding her arm with the sword attached to it as she backed away slowly. Seeing Marcus, and the fact that he was human, made her stop, and lower her weapon slightly. Her face was still smudged with some blood, but she didn't notice. 'Being spotted by a human, isn't much of a good thing. Scratch that, it's bad. I should just try to get away. You can't even stand, what's the use of trying to get away, your not even sure where to run to!' She sighed, bleakly and shook her head, "No..."

Marcus sighed, and shook his head "I should really just leave, right now..." He pinched the bridge of his nose, moved a bit closer to Ayangelica, and knealed in front of her. He sighed again, and said "Well, get on, and I'll at least get you away from here...

Ayangelica looked up at him and with some reluctance of trusting a complete stranger, she snapped off her sword, which shrunk into a feather which she placed in her shirt for now. She slowly climbed onto his back as she whispered a bit fearfully, "I hope I'm not too heavy for you..."

Marcus wasn't a very large man. In fact, we was tall, and quite thin. So when he went to stand, his knees almost buckled. But he was able to carry her out of the crater, and down the road, mentally telling himself how bad this would be for him, and yet he carried on anyway. "So, judgeing by the obvious signs, I'm going to guess you are an angel, correct?"

Ayangelica automatically responded "Battle Angel, I serve center forward in the front line." She sighed as she bleakly looked around at her surroundings as Marcus carried her. She then commented, "I never knew a thief could be this nice, considering all you've been doing so far Marcus"

Marcus grunted softly, and said "Yeah, yeah, you know we all aren't the die hard cut throats make us out to be. Some say we don't work, so we shouldn't have things... But you wouldn't believe the work that goes into breaking into a building, and only taking what you can carry. Besides... Wait, how would you know I'm a thief anyway? And how do you know what I've been doing?" This concerned Marcus. He didn't think he'd be important enough for angels to be keeping tabs on him...

Ayangelica noted of her fading vision, 'what's going on...' She heard his questions and answered, "We keep tabs on everyone, good or not, you fell under my friend's watch." Her voice grew steadily quieter as she spoke, "She's been face-palming herself every time you've been cracking up a lock. Seriously, she has no idea what to do with..." She wasn't able to finish the sentence as she passed out from blood loss. 'I never....knew that....this could happen...'

Marcus waited for her to continue, and after a few seconds, he realized it wasn't comeing. "Eh? Hey!" He looked back, and noticed her eyes had closed. He put her down, and leaned her against a tree. "She passed out..." He shook his head, and looked at her bleeding wings. "Dammit... I don't know how to fix this..." He began looking through his pack, looking for something to at least stop the bleeding a little. He found a small cloth. "Great... Perfect." He sighed, and began the tedious job of stopping the bleeding in her wings, by first cleaning them, then pressing on them, helping the blood clot, and the skin on them begin to heal. "Well, hopefully that did enough. She did lose quite a lot..." He sighed again, and sat next to her. He'd wait until morning, and if she didn't make it, then there was nothing more he could do, and if she did, he'd go from there. He settled down, and fell asleep.

Ayangelica woke up slowly and squinted her eyes in the sunlight, 'Where am I?...' She slowly turned her head around to look at her surroundings and saw Marcus curled up next to her. She looked at one of her wings, which was clean and the blood had stopped. She smiled as she looked back in front of her, half closing her eyes as she allowed her mind to wander...

Marcus woke up, and looked around for a moment, remembering where he was. When he did, he looked over at Ayangelica, put his hand under her nose, to check her breathing. She was, so he got up, and started packing the few things he used, and packed them up, waiting for Ayangelica to wake up.

Ayangelica blinked her eyes open at Marcus's touch. She turned her head around to look at him. Seeing that he was busy, she tried to stand up, using the support from the tree nearby to do so. She managed to get to her feet, and then looked up to see Marcus.

When Marcus had almost finished with his preparations, he looked back at the tree to see that Ayangelica had woken up. He grinned and said "Finally, I thought I'd have to leave you here, to the mercy of a random passerby." He then took a more careful note of her posture, and assessed that she couldn't walk yet. He sighed and said "I'm guessing you can't walk. Would you like another ride somewhere, while I'm offering?"

Ayangelica gave Marcus another teasing smile, "I have no where else to go now do I? Hope you don't mind if I tag along" She sighed and looked around, 'What am I going to do anyway? I won't be able to go back until I somehow manage to fly with six wings...'

Marcus grinned, and turned to leave, sighing softly as he thought of the implications of his actions. First of all, his job would be a whole lot harder now that he had one of the holiest beings traveling with him. Then again, he wasn't the strongest fighter, and he was often jumped by the larger thugs, who usually took up to a third of his "Earnings". "I suppose you can come with me... But I have a questions. How good of a salesperson are you?"

"Salesperson?" Ayangelica blinked confusedly. She bit her lower lip as she confessed, "It's been so long..." She put a finger on her chin as she thought, then frowned, "I'm not sure, I guess we could only find out" She cautiously folded her wings on her back as she craned her neck to look. 'Unless I find something to cover my wings, something tells me that I'll get caught by other people besides this guy...'

As if reading her mind, Marcus eyed her wings and began to undo the clasp that held is cloak in place. "How well can you fold those up?" He asked. When he had the thing undone, he tossed the cloak to Ayangelica, and said "Hopefully pretty flat. You'll stick out just as much as if the wings were in sight." Then, after his inspection of her wings, as if it just occured to him, he said "Don't angels usually have just two wings?"
