Ahava:
Ahava sat on the ground feeling restless. The hunt for the day was done and she certainly did not need to work on hunting right after a hunt. She knew she should probably relax, but it seemed her mind and body had other plans. She stood and decided to go to the ruins hoping to find a distraction from her restlessness.

Ahava trotted forward humming to herself and enjoying her solitude. She should probably be thinking more on what she and her brother discussed a few days prior. but found she also wanted a distraction from that. Ahava sighed wondering why life could be so complicated

Jaron:
Eyal was a jerk. There was no way around it. The older lion would push and push until the soldiers hit their limit- and then pushs ome more. Jaron loped slowly from the training grounds, one of his paws took the weight from the other, throwing his normally proud stride into an akward waddle. He'd pulled his paw during combat training. While it wasn't enough to keep him out of training tomorrow- it was damn annoying. No doubt morning would bring a stiff soreness to his entire body.

He groaned, eyes heavy, as he reached a calm dip in the stream. Oblivious to the female nearby, or seemingly so, he dipped his head to drink.

Ahava:
Ahava smiled as she reached the water by the ruins and walked right into it. She did not notice the male taking a drink and turned, water up to her ankle and continued on her way.

Ahava continued to hum a song she knew from so long ago. She though maybe her mother had song it to her before she passed. She hummed a bit louder and decided she would really have to ask Eyal someday. Her dear brother was so good to her.

She knew, that aside from his new family she was his weakness.

Jaron:
Jaron froze. A soft, femminine voice rose up over the crashing of the falls nearby. Swallowing his mouthful of water he lifted his head, some water trailed down his chin back down into the stream below.

He quirked an eyebrow. She looked like... oh great.

He glanced to either side and bit his lip. He'd not met Eyal's sister, but he knew of her existance.

Ahava:
Ahava felt a strange feeling creeping down her spine. She turned her head to see a male across the water. He did not look familiar to her, but she felt like she should know him.

"Hello," she said.

She turned to face him completely and smiled, "I didn't interupt you did I?"

Jaron:
Jaron froze, halfway through backing away from the water.

He cleared his throat and shook his head. "Uh, no...nothing to interrupt. Uh... you're... Ahava right? Eyal's sis? Sorry, I didn't know you were...bathing."

Ahava:
Ahava walked over to the male who seemed frozen to the spot where he stood. She stopped just before him giving him a rather curious look.

She arched her brow slightly, "Yes I'm Ahava."

She looked him over and grinned slightly. The haggered look and his recognition of her made her realize the male before her was probably Jaron.

"Looks are though my brother were tough on you today. You are Jaron, are you not?"

Jaron:
Jaron laughed, a light and charming sound, but one that dripped with content. He didn't exactly enjoy the training. He was the heir to the pride, true, and he would be expected to defend that title against any challanger. His father, Rotem, still went unchallanged after he had defeated Eyal. Many of the soldiers passed through Eyal's gauntlet before they were allowed close to a hunt. Most, as Jaron, were all too aware of the older lion's strength.

"Yeah just a little." He brought a paw up to brush some of his mane back. It was getting annoyingly thick. It was good enough padding against the blows of his sparring partner. "Huh. I expected to do a few rock climbs when I met up with you. You look too young to be his sister, are you sure you aren't his daughter?"

Ahava:
Ahava held back her laugh, she knew her brother could be rather tough and was often to hard of his trainees, though she herself though him to be a big softy. "You are the heir. I bet he expects you to surpass him."

Ahava giggled slightly at Jaron's comment, "I am his younger sister. He was nearly grown when I was born."

She laughed again slightly, "I am not quite young enough to be his daughter."

Jaron:
"Yeah." He rolled his eyes and snorted. "And to crush boulders with my teeth and break bones with my tail. Why doesn't he teach me to call the lightnings while I'm at it?"

That explained it. Still- he was trying to complement her. Girls...

"Could have fooled me." He pressed with another cool smile.

Ahava:
Ahava laughed out right at his statement. "Yes, thats is definitely my brother. Don't worry at least you have the end of you training to look forward to."

She smiled lightly at the compliment given to her, "thank you Jaron."

"You said you were going to go rock climb. One would think that after a round with Eyal you would want to rest. I like to explore the ruins after I've been tucker from hard work. Its so lovely in there. I even found some items to wear."

Jaron:
"Well... up high you can see out." He flattened his ears back and creased his brow. "'heve's been uncomfortable lately, the little female mute. She found a cub not too long ago, weird thing. He threw up when I dragged a rabbit into the lands once."

He shrugged. "I dunno, I guess she adopted him. Well he's gone and she's been pacing along the boarders a lot. I thought I'd see if I couldn't get a better look."

Ahava:
Ahava watched him with a rather confused expression, unsure of the sudden change in subject, but then it clicked. She'd met Heve before. Heve was very nice to her, despite her inability to speak.

"That is strange, about the rabbit that is and that is very kind of you. If you want I can go with you. Two sets of eyes are better than one and I could help you look for him. That is if you explain to me what he looks like."

Jaron:
"If you want to, I'm not gonna stop you." He shrugged and jerked his chin upwards towards the large rocky cliffs in the distance.

"Oh uh...well he's just...dusty colored. He has a blonde mane that's...well it's freakishly long is what it is. And a white mark on his forehead."

Ahava:
Ahava frowned knowing she had never seen such a cub, but figured if his mane was abnormal he would be easy enough to spot. She turned in the direction of the rocky cliffs and wandered why she offered in the first place. She had most certainly never climbed before and it most definitely did not look like fun.

She turned back to Jaron smiling slightly, "Well fearless leader, lead on."

There was no way even as fit as she was from her daily training she was going to go up the cliff first. She would follow and learn by imitation.

Jaron:
Jaron raised a claw, indicating a moment of pause. He dipped his head and took a few long laps of water. He'd not go on without making sure he'd had his fill. He licked his maw, clearing the excess water from his fur, then turned and gave her a nod.

"Me lead?" He chuckled. "Well if you insist. I thought you, being Eyal's sister, would want to take the head."

He broke into a brisk lope, tail flicking behind him as his paws picked their way over the rocky terrain. The climb itself was still a distance away, but there was no reason to drag his paws. "I doubt we'll see anything, but I can say I tried I guess."
Ahava:
She watched as she drank his fill of water and decided to forgo a drink as she was not really thirsty and a belly full of water my slow her down.

Ahava gave Jaron an affronted look, but couldn't hold it and started to laugh. "My brother and I are very different. I would have to say I take more caution."

As Jaron took off Ahava followed right behind him. "Even if you don't see him. The view up there will at least allow to see where he is not. Anywhere you can't you could check there later."

Jaron:
He chuckled quietly. She certainly seemed -nicer- at least. As far as cautious...well they'd find that out later.

He slowed as they came to the foot of the climb. It was hardly a cliff, but still a decent workout.

He licked his maw and rolled his shoulders back. "I guess that's true...still we can't see inside of caves, cracks, or drops form up there either."

Ahava:
Ahava slowed as Jaron did when they reached the cliff. She was a bit unsure as of what to do next, and instead watched Jaron. Licking his maw and roll his shoulders, seemed fine for him, but Ahava decided to forgo those things, not entirely sure how they would help. She felt limber and ready to go despite her slight apprehension.

"Yes, that is true, but there is a lot of open ground and from up there even if you can't see you will get a better layout of the land."

She looked frowning slightly, there was no backing out now. Though it was not as though she would, afterall she was Eyal's sister.

Jaron:
"True enough." He jumped at the first ledge and pulled himself up. It seemed sturdy enough. With an encouraging flash of teeth, he began picking his way upwards. There was never a point in the climb where the footholds were any thinner than his body's width, so there was no need to pull and scrape at the face of the rocks.

It didn't take long for him to reach the top of the climb, though he'd collected a good deal of dust and specks of dirt clumping up in his mane. Grunting, he shook himself out. "Alright. Just follow the way I came up. It's sturdy enough."

Ahava:
Ahava watched rather tranfixed as Jaron climbed up. She paid attention to how and where he climbed and smiled feeling more relaxed when he reached the top.

She nodded when he called for her to come up and jumped up onto the legde before beginning to say. Needless to say she did not have as easy a time at it as Jaron, but she made the climb as quickly as she could turning her paws dirt colored.

When she reached the top she huffed slightly, "Well that was easy enough", she said as she turned and looked out over the pride lands.

"Its lovely," she said quietly.

Jaron:
Jaron chuckled. "It always looks easier than it is. Guess it gets easier the more you do it." He shrugged. Of course- those had been Eyal's words more or less. Not that he'd admit it out loud.

He looked forward and took a deep breath. The pride's territory was, in all definitions of the word, an oasis in the middle of a barren landscape. It kept them safe. It kept them alive and together.

"Yeah." He nodded shortly and slowly began looking around.

Ahava:
Ahava laughed lightly at the comment wondering if she would even climb up the cliff again. She really had no idea.

Ahava looked to Jaron to see him searching and remember the task at hand. She moved to scan the direction opposite the one he was scanning, being as through as she would be in she were hunting.

"Do you see anything," she asked as her eyes scanned over predator and prey alike not spotting any cubs at all.

Jaron:
"No. But I didn't expect to." He winced. He'd not say it out loud, or imply as such, but the cub was likely vulture meat by then. The land around En Gedi was harsh and unforgiving. The white soil was barren as they came, nothing could survive out there. The only water source apart from their fresh spring was the sea of the gods. Deadly to any living creature that drank it, but capable of healing their wounds if they bathed in it.

He turned his head, giving the landscape one last look over. "Guess I get to break the news to 'heve later... poor girls needs to find her own mate. Adopting strays isn't going to get her anywhere."

Ahava:
Ahava was saddened by the truth of it. A lone cub outside the prides borders was a good as dead if not found quickly. She felt very badly for Heve, she really did have a good heart.

Ahava turned to Jaron frowning at his words. she wondered if her realized just how cruel they sounds.

"What do you expect her to do," she asked cooly. "Our pride numbers are dwindling, we are more females than males and any lose right now is a great one. You should learn to watch your tongue if you are to one day be our leader."

Ahava sat looking out over the lands with a frown on her maw.

Jaron:
"I know...but there's no good in softening a blow like that." He glanced over his shoulder. "You have to be realistic as much as you are encouraging. I hope the kid shows up again, but she should do herself a favor and try to start up a family of her own."

He looked back out towards the desert. "It's like the sea there. If someone asks if they can drink it, I can answer 'yes'. It's possible to drink it. But I should be realistic and say "but it'll kill you"."

Ahava:
Ahava looked at him and nodded before standing and turning to him. "I guess that is true, but its not entirely the same thing. Its like if a cubs parent die, if you are two blunt with them then they may be scarred, but at the same time they need to know that there parents are they same. Your examples aren't quite congruent."

Ahava really hoped he wouldn't be to harsh with her. Oddly she started to laugh thinking on her brothers words. He'd said something similar to her because she was so focused on her goal. He though taking a mate and raising a family would do her a world of good.

She looked to Jaron, "Also she may not agree with you on the matter. I disagree with my brother on the matter. I want to try and become head huntress beneath the queen before I start a family. You do not know what is driving her to protect this cub, so you shouldn't jugde."

Jaron: 3:53 pm (3:53:51 PM):     "True enough I suppose." He sat himself down and took a deep breath. Perhaps the cub was too young to understand, but it seemed just as cruel to leave him hoping. Afterall, cubs grew up. He'd know eventually and he might see the pride's silence as betrayal.

"I suppose we'll deal with it if he asks. I won't go an' say it right out. Sound better?"

Shizu6616 4:26 pm (4:26:29 PM):     Ahava nodded sitting down beside Jaron. "She won't leave it, I am certain. She will know when the time is right to tell him is," she said looking out over the pride lands.

"He has to be found first," she said softly before looking back to Jaron. "Have you checked the ruins? I know a lot of cubs like to explore in there. He could have gotten lost, or fallen asleep."

Jaron: 5:44 pm (5:44:19 PM):     He nodded slowly. It would be difficult... poor gal. First losing the cub, then if they found it she'd face an equally difficult situation. No doubt a disgruntled cub was the last thing she needed to deal with.

He took a deep breath and rubbed at his temple. What a bother...

"I've not checked there yet either... he's got a weird smell. It's not like a lion. More like... a flower? Bark? It's hard to explain..."

Ahava:5:48 pm (5:48:34 PM):     Ahava gave Jaron a curious look, "He smells like the earth." She frowned heavily wondering how a lion could smell unlike a lion. Her frown reached her eyes when she realized he'd have a hard time finding the cub in the ruins, which reaked of vegetation. Ahava wondered if she would be able to tell the difference in smell, as she always spent most of her free time in the ruins.

"You'll not be able to find him in the ruins then, not unless his smell is amazingly distinct." Ahava sighed lightly. "I can help if you like. I spend most of my free time when I am not training there."
