Ok, If Ayumi Hamasaki gets a thread here I say Hikki can have one too.
She's the girl who was born in New York City, and lived there for over a decade. She's bilingual (Duh) and constantly goes back and forth between the US and Japan. She made an English album when she was very young, around 12-14 but it was never released. Back then she used the name Cubic U. A Japanese record company person.. Thinger heard it and asked her to make a Japanese album. That album became the top selling album in Japan of all time, and since then she's always been a top musical act.
And her new single 'Passion' is one of my new favorite songs. >.<

Utada kind irritates me. Some fo her music isn't that bad, but I'm definitely not a huge fan. I liked Simple and Clean a lot though if that counts for anything. The Japanese version of it is best.

I have about the same opinion as Yami. I like some of her stuff, but I'm not much of a fan. I really did love "Hikari" though. Even when I'm listening to the English version, I still end up singing along in Japanese... xD

I don't have that problem, because I never knew the Japanese lyrics. However, I do know the English lyrics. It's probably because it's easier for me to learn the words to something in my own language.

I didn't really like her english version, maybe it's the lyrics in the Japanese version that I like better.

Probably. Nothing seems to sound good in English... Including Americans and the English. Actually, Americans actually speak American and not English. There are several different spellings and pronunciations for a lot of words that we have. Then, of course there's the fact that Americans seem to have the need to make up words and use tons of slang. So, hence the American language... I completely forgot what I was talking about. XP

Same, I prefer Utada's deeper voice to Ayumi's high and nasaly one. My recent favorite of her right now is Passion. 3nodding

Sorry for digging up this thread. But I haven't posted in this guild very much, so.
Hikki, my first Jpop singer. She can sing. She's awesome. She's a great role model. I love her.

Pink Dollie Sorry for digging up this thread. But I haven't posted in this guild very much, so. Hikki, my first Jpop singer. She can sing. She's awesome. She's a great role model. I love her. I guess she was technically my first JPop singer too. I was downloading music by Moi dix Mois a while ago and I still had enough room for more songs on the CD I was gonna burn them on to... So, I randomly downloaded Utada's music. I was rather shocked when I first listened to the CD, because I hadn't listened to the music before burning it. I defintely wasn't expecting her. ^.^;
