=D I bought a little pumpkin and carved it today. I put a tea light in it and it's shining in my living room. I plan on getting a bunch more and putting them on my steps on Halloween to light up my party.

The descent of madness...... Maka! Fun and messy. I've never carved a pumpkin before. When I was a kid, my mom claimed it was a waste of food and attracted flies. emo Doesn't have to be painful......

That sucks. And it actually wasn't messy at all. I put newspaper all over the table, and it turned out to be a waste of newspaper because I didn't really spill anything. I had a bowl for the guts, used a knife and a spoon. After, I harvested the seeds from the guts, put those aside to dry (so I can roast them tomorrow) and I grinded up all the guts in my blender, strained them, mixed the juice with apple juice and yum.

I can only make the traditional, toothy smile pumpkin. And they always wilt too early! Curse you, Nebraska!

I like to draw out what I want to carve on a appropriate sized sheet of paper, tape it on the pumpkin (like those carving kits), trace the lines, and carve away. Last year I had a really neat Nosferatu pumpkin but someone stole it. Damn teenagers.

oh, that sounds like a better idea than drawing straight on the pumpkin. That way if you mess up, you can erase/get a new paper and start over. I think I'll do that with the next batch, thanks ^_^
@Dee: MAKE SHARP TEETH. Mine is a vampire, but a cool one and he doesn't sparkle or fall in love with people, he kills them!

Very nice pumpkins! Mine is wimpy compared to yours ;-;
I have to go get 3 sometime this week if I can round up more money. The Halloween store down the street from my house is having everything half off, so I just bought $40 worth of decorations and make up. Got a lot of stuff for that amount 'cuz it's so cheap. Including a fog machine for $10!!!

I kinda want to make a peace sign for my pumpkin, or a messload of peace signs. You can do that, right, without collapsing the pumpkin?

You need to be careful about what you cut out and don't cut out. But a peace sign should be simple enough that it shouldn't collapse the pumpkin.
