I'm just curious, because I know a few and because we're performing some, but what are some good songs that a show choir of any school might pull off.
I'm actually curious because I've seen a few and we're doing some. Here's what mine is doing:
Rent Medley (including Rent, One Song Glory, Without You, La Vie Boheme, Will I, Seasons of Love, and Finale B) River Jordan from "The Civil War" Endless Night from "The Lion King" and For Good from "Wicked"
Others that I know are good and have seen performed are:
Too Darn Hot from "Kiss Me, Kate" You Can't Stop the Beat from "Hairspray" Run, Freedom, Run from "Urinetown" Time Warp from "Rocky Horror Show"

Ditto to what Coco Oco said! I tried so... SO hard to talk my teacher into letting us sing "Seasons of Love" last year, but she was evil.

We did You Can't Stop the Beat last year and it totally rocked. We had the best choreography ever and when we finally pulled it together we blew everyone away (another school had tried to do it and hadn't quite made it. sweatdrop ), anyway, it's an awesome peice. We're doing Seasons of Love this year and we did We Go Together from Grease my freshman year.

Hm....I don't think we're doing anything from plays this year. In 5th grade we did a medley from Les Miserables, though...
Yeah, I saw that they were selling "For Good" as chorus music...I'm like, woah, didn't see that one coming.

Les Mis could be interesting.
Do you remember the songs that were in it (but I might already know a lot of them)?

I sing in a classical choir but my teacher is going to have us sing one broadway piece. She hasn't given it to us yet, but said that it might be from Phantom of the Opera.

Pharaoh Ramases Les Mis could be interesting. Do you remember the songs that were in it (but I might already know a lot of them)? Yeah, I do remember them...first, "At the End Of the Day"....then, "I Dreamed a Dream" (I don't know if any of these are the real titles... sweatdrop ), "Castle on a Cloud," "Do You Hear the People Sing?", and "Bring Him Home" at the end. A whole medley. 3nodding

In 8th grade we sang a medley from 'Chicago' ((Which included Razzle Dazzle and All That Jazz)) ...In District Honor (Which my friend was in) they got to sing 'Seasons of Love' from RENT. And now in her Chorus class they're singing 'For Good' from Wicked for their spring concert.

We never did any good songs when I was in choir.
One time we did a movie medley. It had Footlose, Fame, St. Elmo's Fire, I Just Called to Say I love and probably more that I can't remember. It was the only piece we did that was semi fun.
