Lying shut upon a table is a rather curious book - the deep violet cover shining with a silvery inlay of a feather. The fine, shining cover is only marred by a couple of slash marks, as if one with claws had tried to lift it.
Opening up the fine pages of thin, glistening parchment, one might find the initial few pages torn out. Curious...but perhaps who had bestowed this hand-me-down diary indeed has her reasons.
Beside the book sat a pair of scissors, a piece of ribbon tied to the handle and wound down about the blades....

Oh, how embarrassing! As Guin is (nearly) a fully-grown woman, she has begun to attract the attention that many men (and women) give to those they find attractive. Generally people are subtle, just looking from a distance or approaching politely if they are that bold. However, Guin seems to have attracted the attention of a particularly forward man.
How does she react? Is she scared or amused? Does she take the man up on his offer or turn him down? If she does turn him down, is she gentle about it, or is she as blunt as he is?

age physically and mentally seventeen, actually only about four.
date of birth jan 21, 2005
likes cats, snow, hot tea with honey, clever conversation, small spaces, quiet, reading, unusual things, mysteries, bread with the crusts cut off, pretty cakes,telling other people what to do, and cold things.
dislikes rain, loud music, large animals, television, hot weather, people who are not looking above the chest when they address her, swearing, coffee, too much attention, bad parents, and thoughtless actions.
strengths sewing, can bake (but not cook, alas), remembering facts and faces, well-mannered, eager to help
weaknesses occasionally haughty, nosy, somewhat socially awkward, hardly adventurous, worries over people like a mother hen, and afraid of commitment.
long term goals further research into fallen messengers and the paranormal, develop her own blend of tea, learn to cook, find out more about her own past, become a published authority on something or other.
abilities not yet manifested
personality the type of girl who would be a good mother and a terrible teenager, guinevere acts older than she is. she tends to fuss over people she cares about and though she prefers to keep people at a safe distance from herself, she will gladly lend a helping hand to others even when it's not needed. she likes knowing things and will pry into your social life if you let her. it's easy to make her smile, but similarly easy to make her frown. she likes discussing theories and ideas with people, and she's fairly chatty if encouraged to be, more so around shy people than others. she's fairly independent for her age, and though she'll ask people she trusts for help if she really needs it, she prefers to doing things for herself. she was brought up to be ladylike and she is, when it's convenient for her. she has impeccable table manners, and gets uncomfortable when people swear. she is especially interested in heralds and will field questions about them from new and confused guardians whenever she gets the chance, asking a few questions of her own to see what kind of home they've landed in. she dislikes dramatic and silly people, as she's been through that phase, and as she will gladly tell people, she is a Mature Young Lady now, thank you ever so much. if she truly cares about you, she will do anything she can to protect you and make you feel appreciated, she's terrified of abandonment. ironically, this same fear also causes her to push people away, and though she may flirt teasingly with you, at the first sign of the recipient being serious about flirting back, she will back out like a scalded cat.

family
lady vincira the woman who sacrificed to guinevere. she abandoned guinevere to the elements shortly afterwards, and so guinevere has only the vaguest recollections of her.
aaron he took guinevere in after she was abandoned and raised her to be his protegé. a boy whose skin is cold as death, he left a lot of unanswered questions in her mind and relinqushed her when it became clear he wasn't able to handle fatherhood.
kotatsu guinevere's next and longest guardian. she raised guinevere to be who she is today, drilled manners into her head, and despite pretty constant strife between the two of them, managed to make her into a respectable young lady. however, kotatsu lacked independence and lived off of money from her relatives overseas, so guinevere knows little about working or managing on her own.
puccini guinevere's cat. views her as his own personal property and glares at any man who might challenge his authority as man of the house. likes his belly rubbed and often goes out to procreate recklessly, bringing back kittens and looking very pleased with himself. the kittens always vanish within about a week to places unknown, though.
others
kemuri a brotherly figure in guinevere's eyes, she teases him recklessly and enjoys spending time with him. they've been through a lot, and though he's occasionally a bit of a perv, she wouldn't have him any other way.
lily kemuri's mother figure, however she's younger than he is! guinevere's cool with it, and she doesn't know lily well, but she's an okay sort.
nikolai one of guinevere's dearest childhood friends, they've been out of touch since he went to live in the sanctum.
jade nikolai's mother, commands guinevere's respect and fear, but generally knows what to do in a tough situation.
aethelind he's changed a lot since she last met him and she's not sure she likes it. neutral.
shayna she and kemuri dance well together.
mackerel needs to learn how to respect a candle.
aodh an author guinevere met by falling asleep next to him. thinks he's really rather clever, and just hopes that his parenting skills are as good as his conversation skills. oh, and that he doesn't bleed to death.
niven guinevere's favourite of the younger heralds hands down. likes niven's quiet, thoughtful nature, and likes seeing herself as sort of a stand in older sister for him. the murray family are close friends, and she enjoys both aodh and niven's company immensely.
orion thinks he's cute.
michael needs elocution lessons.
jin tian probably has a bad impression of her.
