So, Friday was our homecoming, and we had a bunch of alumni from 1989 come for a visit to the school. Well, it was kind of awesome timing and really cool, because 1989 was the last time we got a superior at Band day, and we finally got a superior this year, so it was awesome standing on the field when our bD announced that over the loudspeaker and commented that 1989 was the last time. Then, after halftime the band alumni(anyone who graduated that was in the stands and had their instrument) came and started playing our music with us. Then, old drum majors came down as well. It was so cool seeing one of the alumni, who graduated last year and was a drum major the year before I came, conducting us with a line of our 3 current drum majors and 2 or 3 alumni drum majors. It was amazing. Then, we do this thing where we make someone dance. For this example we will do drum majors, but it can be a certain person or the BD too. Band: Hey Drum Majors! Drum Majors: Hey what? Band: Shake Your booties! DMs:No way! Band: SHAKE YOUR BOOTIES! DMs: Okay! Band: Jump, shake your booty, jump jump, shake your booty!(Drum majors jump and booty shake) And we did that to all of them. Then they did it back. First time I remeber the whole band doing itXD This is what happens during boring games when our BD decides we won't play much>.>
So, do you guys ever have alumni join you at games? Share your stories!

We have Alumni Band Day every year. The alumni band does their own pregame and halftime shows, and then we do a joint thing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i-guIw5jyXM (starting at 4:56) It's pretty cool...but we're always warned to keep our uniforms and hats and things put away because the alumni will steal them, haha. Oh, and this year the alumni drum major was 8 months pregnant and still did the show! Crazy.

We just recently had our 25th annual field show, and a lot of alumni came back. It was amazing. After the band performed, we all went down and did an alumni drill down. It was awesome to see so many alumni from all the way to I wanna say 1984 down there. =D
I always sucked at the drill down. Haha. So nothing changed much when I did it again. xD

We had our first Alumni Night this year, they were (luckily) blown away, when truthfully, we weren't at our best because the flu hit us hard, so we had about 45 people missing out of 150.

We do a simular thing with the University of Washington band. I think it's homecoming where the alumni abdn comes and marches on the field with the band. We do have an alumni band that plays at all the home games. I cant wait for teh Apple Cup rivalry game! Oh and i used to go back and march with my old highschool band all the time before the director quit and the band went to crap.

My high school does nothing like that... But we do usually have a group of alumni that get together and sit in one section for the state contest each year.
It doesn't look like I'll be making it this year, though. D:

Our alumni visit whenever they want, really. There's one clarinet who graduated a few years ago who comes back to help with band camp and festivals and everything.
...last year my director kept thinking she was still a band member and yelled at her for being late to practice XD We can't miss her because she's never gone. And I can't miss her even when marching band ends, because when she comes home to visit she lives up my street!
Then there's the ones that almost NEVER visit and when they come back it's a real treat. 8D
We don't do anything special for the alumni, though. Our announcer/commentator might announce them if he knows they're there... "AND LET'S NOT FORGET BAND ALUMNUS LESLIE ___ IS HERE WITH THE BAND TONIGHT 8D" "Wait...Did Mr. Hicks just announce me? LOL"
...that actually happened one game to said clarinet girl. XD
