Small wings buzzed against a low-hanging branch full of leaves. Blinking, Chloris lifted her eyes to the sight momentarily. She had stepped away from Acrobaleno for a moment and into a clearing adjacent the one they had been moving through. It was just for a moment. She thought she had scented some sweet berries here, but it seemed it was just her imagination. She sighed. That was too bad. It had been a while since she had eaten anything but green leaves. And with the fall season coming to a close and the weather becoming colder, she thought it would be quite a bit longer now until she was able to taste something sugary.
"Oh," she snapped out of her thoughts, remembering that she had promised her companion she wouldn't be long. She turned back to where she had come from, trotting quickly so he wouldn't have to wait much longer.

Acrobaleno: Was grazeing on a piece of meat his spiders haveing there net. Chloris promised to be back but he wasnt too worried about her with his spiders and net being nearby she would not get into too much trouble without him. He looked up and asked his spiders "How is she and how far has she gone." The spiders retored "She isnt far it seems she didnt smell what she smelled and is heading back." They giggled as the spiders thread weaved amongst each other with how they speak. Acrobaleno smiled and laid under a tree waiting with a smile.

Shaking her head to clear away a few stuck leaves, she made it out and back into the clearing she had originally come from. Not too far, she saw the male she had been looking for, laid out under a tree. Not exactly where she had left him, but she hardly expected less. Smiling, she moved closer. "I couldn't find those berries," she told him, looking a little let down. Her gaze moved momentarily to the meat he was finishing. In her time with him, she had become used to seeing it. But she still wouldn't try it herself. Letting her eyes move back to him, she tried to recall that same smile again. "But that's okay, I guess. Maybe I'll still be able to find some before winter."

Acrobaleno: Looked out and smiled "Yes Yes you will i could have the spiders try to find you one if you like lady chloris" Acrobaleno said with a happy grin. "We should probably keep moveing though then we can keep exploreing. What else should we work to do today before the day ends?" Acro asked while eyeing chloris and figureing out how to brighten her day.

"Ooh, you don't have to do that," she said, shaking her head and looking a little sheepish. At the same time, she looked up to the large web and the hardworking spiders, watching them crawl for a moment. "I wouldn't want to bother them." Though she knew it was their job to do as they were told and they were skilled enough to find many things, she didn't think it was right to have them off scouting for things she didn't really need. Green leaves were fine for now. She figured she should be grateful that there were even green leaves still around at all, considering the season.
"Hm," she muttered next, canting her head. "It is still early in the day. Maybe we should try to to move on to somewhere new? I feel like we've been searching these same trees for a long time now." She seemed to consider her own words for a moment. "But the weather was a bit unfriendly last night, so maybe we should look for a better shelter instead? It might be cold again tonight."

Acrobaleno: Looked over and smiled "You sure my lady i know you have been wanting something more tasty since fall and winter was beginning to arrive. Hmm maybe your right though both are good ideas lets see what the wind points" Acrobaleno said feeling it sift more to the right of him "maybe we shall try this way it does seem better idea to go where the wind points and not feeling the oppisite side of it" He said kindave jokeingly and sounding like a foal in a meadow.

Inwardly, she felt glad that he was so willing to have the spiders find the berries for her. But still, she shook her head again. "No, it's alright. I'm not that hungry right now, anyway." Maybe later she could ignore that little guilty feeling and ask for the favor, but for now she would hold her tongue. Lifting her chin, she glanced off in the direction he pointed out. "Go where the wind takes us?" she questioned, giggling. "That's fine, we might find something more useful downwind."

"Oh and dont think i buy that your not that hungry silly how long have we been traveling I think i know you better than that smile more that suits you better than a glum." Acrobaleno said as he told the spider real quick to head downwind and smiled beginning to walk in that direction.

Chloris huffed, pulling away from the physical 'attack' with a grin. "Of course, you know I laugh at funny things," she told him matter-of-factly, as if he should've known his joking was still humorous to her. At his next comment, she merely huffed again, putting on a fake pout until he and the spiders both began to move off in the direction they had chosen. Trotting to catch up, she let the pout slip away and smiled up at him. "Really, I'll just get something on the way. Maybe we'll pass some green leaves or even some sweet grass. Sweet grass isn't as good as berries, but it's not a bad dessert."

"Hopefully a good meal won't be too hard to find." She glanced up between the leaves of the canopy at the light as it grew slowly stronger. So distracted was she that she nearly tripped over a protruded root. Steadying her footing, she was unable to see or avoid the little poke that came next. Looking surprised, she eyed him for a moment before grinning and nodding. "A game? Yeah. Why not?" Making a little right, she put a large tree between them before popping out on the other side and lowering her head in an attempt to bump his shoulder with her nose.

Chloris pulled out of her little attempt with a huff, backing off as he danced away. "Of course I'm okay," she told him, if a little delayed. "I'm not usually easy to bring down, either." It was obvious she had accepted the challenge. Walking at a normal pace, she allowed him to put a bit of distance between them at first. Her little wings began to quiver as she readied herself. Then she bounced forward, picking up a good trot, while still being careful of the tree roots. Sometimes it was hard to play in the forest.
"Get ready," she warned him, her smile returning full-force as she started to close the gap. Eventually she leaned forward, attempting to bump him with her shoulder this time.

"Not yet, but soon!" She promised, pulling out of her earlier attempt and trotting at length behind him. The misses only served to fuel her determination to continue. If nothing else, Chloris wasn't one to give up, if her nearly lifelong search for her older sister was any indication. Picking up the pace of her trot, she kept pace, but didn't try to get too close again until they had reached the meadow. "I will catch you in that meadow!" she called out with a laugh and a friendly smile, turning off of the path he was taking and circling into the open meadow on her own. She stopped, standing near the very edge of the trees now, waiting to see how he would come into the clearing.
