It's such a shame, at school it's always whine, whine, whine about the rain or, "it's too cold!" A lot of my friends haven't even fished in their life! My family has strong roots and traditions with this land and we are hardy folk- but what about everyone else? It seems like everyone I talk to but my family and select others rarely fish, only go camping a weak average of once a year during the summer, and whine about the fact it's a bit wet! It's like they aren't from Washington or something.

I've lived in Washington all my life. 3rd generation washingtonian! However, I FREAKING HATE RAIN. AND COLD. I do fish like once a year. Same with camping. I snowboard a few times a year too. But really, I cannot stand the cold. My preferred temperature is 75degrees! The rain is even worse. Makes me feel sooo depressed. I plan to move to California or Hawaii when I'm older.

Ahhh, I love rain, but yes, almost everyone I know dislikes it and complains about the coldness as well. My aunt is the only other person I know who lives here and prefers this kind of weather. Rain and grey clouds are my kind of weather; I don't fancy the sun and warmth very much~ it tends to put me in a grumpy mood. Although, I don't fish or camp simply because I hate fishing and I prefer the indoors... I hate any kind of creepy crawler, and there's obviously going to more outside than inside.

I love the rain. I can't see living anywhere else. My mom's family is from Hawaii, so that's the only place I've ever fished, and I sucked at it. So I've given up on fishing for now, but I imagine I will do it again in the future even though I really don't like to eat fish. XD
We go camping a lot. Rain or shine. We even camped through a hailing lightning storm once. haha, though, I was slightly scared, it is an experience. And hiking is fun and mountain biking. I actually prefer to do outdoor activities in the rain because it's just more fun. As for the cold, I get cold easily, even in the summer, so I do my best to keep warm, but the cold doesn't get me down.
So yeah, I love Washington, I don't think I'll ever want to live anywhere else.

The rain doesn't bother me a bit. (Unless we're trying to march in it. Rain coats cover up our pretty Band uniforms.)
I mostly like it when it rains because I have the most epic raincoat ever. Knee length flourescent orange tow truck driver's raincoat with reflective tape. I love wearing it everywhere.
The kids at my school don't seem to mind rain too much either. I don't here a whole lotta whining.

Since when does liking rain make you a true Washingtonian?
Bullshit.

It's not so much being a "true Washingtonian." Since it rains a lot in Washington, if you don't like the rain, you probably would choose to live somewhere else.

I love the rain. My fiance even offered to move me to florida and I said no way.
I love the wild life and natural beauty of the pacific northwest.
I would miss the Puget Sound, Point Defiance, Ginford pinchot, Fishing in the Puyallup River.
This state has everything and I am glad that I have lived here all my life. pirate

The rain is so great... (: I love the cold too. I've lived in Washington my whole life (14 whole years! xD) My family comes from Minnesota, but I was born and raised here. The only reason I try to avoid the rain is when I straighten my hair. sweatdrop
I loooove the fishing. Unfortunately, I'm not such a great fisher. I'm not patient enough and the fish tend to avoid my line... :/ But I've fished a bunch anyway... Lake Fenwick, Spanaway Lake, several other lakes I don't remember the name of, Aberdeen, all sorts of places. xD
And it's so pretty around here, too. My house (if not for all the trees) has an amazingly perfect view of Mt. Rainier. (:

Ummm... I've lived in Washington my whole life. I don't really like being cold, but I do like rain. Especially in the summertime. blaugh I don't fish or hunt, because I'm against it. sweatdrop But I still consider myself a "true washingtonion" despite your ideals.
BTW...its raining and super cold right now. wink

Theres nothing more Washington then complaining about the rain! Thats why we all drink Coffee. It's warm, cause the rain is cold, and it gets us hyped up on caffine, so we can get our a** out of the rain faster. We also complain about traffic too, but we haven't figured out how to deal with that one yet...

I live in vancouver aka the couve i go to school with a whole lot of people born in portland and don't know who lancy stlaly, kurt cobain, Jimi hendrix, eddie vedder or any grunge bands. they complain of being wet and cold. The rain and cold are good for you builds character.
