Sunil was still huffing slightly as he mad his way back towards the place where he had left Helios and Mischa. He wasn't in to much of a hurry -the way the little lady had been looking at his friend hadn't escaped him despite the rather nasty circumstances they had been in at the time.

Rather pleased with himself for having chased off the bothersome Reya..and given his friend a chance to make a connection with the mare Sunil chuckled slightly and tossed his head setting the tassels atop his head to bobbing and the blue of his neck to flashing in the afternoon sunlight.

Picking up his feet a bit more as his breath returned Sunil hummed a jaunty tune and let his thoughts wander slightly, It was quite astonishing really that he and Helios had run into such an adventure so soon after meeting - if they continued in this manner why their lives would most certainly be on the interesting side.

Slowly the young mare made her way through some tall patches of grass. The sun seemed to be somewhere in the middle of the sky reaching way above her. It's warm rays beat down upon her hide and warmed her. The wind here didn't blow quite as much as it did in Quirne and it was nice to not have to battle through sand. It was also away from Eacles.

The Reya Stallion had been just plain mean but in the end he had simply been a coward. In all honesty this was probably to Esterlina's favor. She might be brave and quick to fight due to her irritability, but she wasn't exactly bright either. Yes Eacles had threatened to torture the crab but it wasn't really worth risking her life over. However, the young mare hadn't thought much about it at the time. The thought of seeing another creature harmed, even one so small as a crab, upset her. She had too kind of a heart for that.

Having made it a few more feet through the grass Lina stopped for a moment to survey her surroundings. She hadn't come to D'ob much but it seemed a nice enough place. Peaceful really. Although, now that she was here where did she go? Should she continue on or stay for a while? She didn't really know anyone at all. She'd only ever known her family and an occasional wanderer. Hungry, she began to munch on the grass while she pondered what to do next.

Sunil soon found himself moving along at quite a happy little pace, knees lifting high as his humming gave way to full out singing, and while his voice may not be that of an angel neither was it all to terrible - at least to his mind.

"'Tis the last rose of summer left blooming alone
All her lovely companions are faded and gone
No flower of her kindred, no rosebud is nigh
To reflect back her blushes and give sigh for sigh"

Eyes half lidded and head bobbing slightly in the sunlight as he went along, no sooner had he sung his latest verse did he take notice of the pearly white mare as she stood in the grass. Sunil was never one to miss an opportunity to mingle with those he met - especially mares and so not missing a step the wildly colored steed did bring himself to a somewhat flashy stop mere paces from the mare and with a slight arch to his neck proclaim.

"Ah, perhaps you are not red..but you are indeed a rose!" Mentally congratulating himself on the fine compliment, if he did say so himself it was a pretty good one and ought to be received well what mare did not like being so compared after all?

Lina looked up from her grass. The Stallion had startled her a little but she was becoming accustomed to meeting strangers lately. She just hoped this Ichsa was more like the purple Jala she had met as opposed to the horrible Reya, although she doubted the later. He had called her a rose, much more polite than anything the Reya had said. Then again, when she had met Eacles she had been covered in sand and a little seaweed. Since then she had bathed and looked much better.

"Why thank you." She could feel her cheeks get a little warm with embarrassment. No one had called her pretty before except for her parents. Perhaps he was only being nice? Either way she did enjoy the compliment whether it was true or not.

She took a moment to study the Ichsa standing before her. Never had she seen anyone with such interesting coloring. But, as stated before, she hadn't really met many others or been out much. The Stallion was brightly colored, sort of like a bird. Come to think of it, he did look a lot like a bird. The interesting feathers that made up his mane and tail only proved her thought more.

"I must say sir, you do look as handsome as a bird of paradise today." She wasn't exactly what to say to the stallion but he had complimented her and to reply with another compliment seemed only fitting. Especially one that truly fit his appearance. To be honest Esterlina did find him to be handsome so why bother lying?

Sunil beamed at the mare as she looked a little embarrassed at his compliment - indeed it had garnered the reaction he'd been looking for and he mentally patted himself on the back once more. "Tis only the truth mi'lady" the multi-colored steed returned with a slight wink and a bob of his strangely tasseled head.

He must have made somewhat of an impression he figured as she complimented him back, but then he was Sunil...and was used to such adoration. "A bird mi'lady? Ah only a flower could beat such a comparison! Birds and flowers are but natures way of painting - at least thats what my mother always said, knew her stuff my mum" He continued on in a cheery voice.

"What brings you to the lovely Valley today Mi'lady?" He asked politely - it was always polite to inquire with such small talk he'd been told and then being so reminded about politeness recalled with a bit of horror that he had not yet intrduced himself!..what a breech of protocol Sunil he scolded himself mentally. "Oh dear! forgive me but I seem to have forgotten my manners...I am known as Sunil..may I ask you name?"

"Oh Goodness! How terribly rude of me. My name is Esterlina. Although you can call me Lina if you'd like. It's shorter and I think it's a little prettier. Plus it doesn't sound quite as old." The white mare responded quite energetically. She did seem to be so full of energy lately. It seemed that actually getting out for once was good for her.

Lina thought for a few moments about what to say next. She didn't want to be rude but she was still getting used to meeting others and awkward silences were not her thing. Actually, the quite irritated her. Then again she was easily irritable on an average day.

"Um... Well..." She stuttered, trying to find the right words. "Where are you off to on such a fine afternoon?" At least she had managed to stay polite. Perhaps a little conversation and a bit of small talk with the Ichsa Stallion and then she would be back on her way to... Where? Well she still wasn't sure where she was going just yet but she would figure that out in due time. She was beginning to miss her family. Perhaps she would pay them a visit.

Sunil tossed his head slightly - as though waving off her apologies and knowing full ell that the action would cause the sun to flash rather brilliantly off the blue of his neck. "Don't be silly" He told her warmly "It was entirely my own breech of conduct, Esterlina is a beautiful name but if you prefer Lina then I dare say it is a fine choice as well" Sunil told her with a cheery look on his face.

Ah she wanted to know where he was off to! Sunil drew himself into a taller prouder pose (which was quite a feat considering he had already been standing in what he considered a flashy posture). Arching his neck he gestured back the way he had come. 'Ah well...my friend and I - Helios - were merely enjoying our time in the valley when upon topping a rise, brave Helios caught sight of what looked like a pretty Ichsa mare being fiendishly bullied. Of course we wasted no time in coming to her aid...the thug was chased off and Helios stayed behind to ensure the mare was not injured while I made sure the beast did indeed leave...on my way back to them now" He finished and then with a slight wink added "Taking a bit of time though - I'm pretty sure I saw a little spark in that mares eyes at the sight of Helios, quite romantic if I do say so myself...quite romantic!"

Once again Lina felt her cheeks warm at the comment. He was making her feel pretty that was for sure. Although, she noticed, he was a bit fond of his own handsomeness. His attempts at puffing himself up did not go unnoticed. Yes, he was very much like a bird.

The mare waited and listened as patiently as she could while the stallion told his tale. In all honesty she had only been trying to be polite when she had asked him about his travels. The mare didn't have any real interest in what the stallion had been doing, not really. At least he seemed to be enjoying the spotlight and the attention she was giving him and she could use the social skills anyway.

"Ah I see! Such a gentleman, allowing the other stallion his time to woo the mare. It is so very romantic."

She did have to admit that she was jealous of this Ichsa mare. Lina hadn't had any relationships of any kind really. Hell, Sunil was the only stallion, other than her father, who had called her pretty or beautiful. Was she really that plain? No, she needed to remind herself, she hadn't been out much. At least not enough to have run into very many other stallions.

You hear that Sunil? he thought to himself - she thinks your a gentleman!...well of course she does its a right noble thing your doing! he continued to think inwardly while beaming at the pale colored mare with her chocolate locks.

"Ah well..Helios is a good chap, hasn't had the chance to meet too many others since leaving his family unit, he deserves a bit of time to get to know someone" Sunil remarked chipperly "My mum always said Sunil..its not always what you know but who you know that will save the day!" the multi colored steed continued handing out yet another pearl of life wisdom from his foalhood.

"I rather think she was on to something there, how about yourself Lina...do you come from a large family?"
PostPosted: Mon Oct 12, 2009 1:31 pm

Lina wasn't entirely sure she understood what his mother had meant by that. Why, it didn't really make any sense at all. Not to her anyway. Then again she had never really depended on anyone else at all. She found that she was much better off taking care of herself. Others just tended to disappoint you somehow. Life was really just full of disappointment really.

"A large family? Well, I don't really know if we're large." She thought about that for a few moments. She knew her parents had never had anymore fruit. Which meant it was just her three siblings and her parents. That probably wasn't very large then. She had heard of other Nequus who had had many fruits and were almost a heard of their own. No, her family wasn't exactly large.

"I don't really think you could call us large." She continued on. "I have two sisters and a brother. My parents haven't had any other fruits so I don't really think you could call us very large." She paused for a moment to catch her breath and continued on. "What about you? What is you family like?"

If Sunil noticed the mares confusion about his mothers advice he didn't react to it, busying himself with arching his neck and preening somewhat.

"Ah well! Larger then mine!" Sunil remarked after the mare had spoken, three siblings seemed like a rather lot to him - but then he'd been the only child in his small family, something which Sunil had never complained about as it meant he'd received all of the attention.

"As far as I know I'm the only fruit my parents ever produced" The stallion continued, his eyes gaining a faraway look as he paused to think for a few moments "Of course they might have had more by now..I haven't really seen them in a while, live rather far away they do" He finally finished with a chipper smile "Why I expect I could have a large family and just never know of it..rather strange to think of that"
PostPosted: Tue Oct 13, 2009 1:45 pm

Lina wasn't entirely too surprised to hear that Sunil was an only child. It did explain why he was so, conceited? She wasn't sure just how conceited he was but it seemed like a relatively good fit. He definitely seemed to like the attention. That was for sure. Apparently his mother and father had given him plenty, or so it seemed.

Lina was rather glad she had had three siblings, it kept her down to earth for the most part. Her family wasn't really close but they did care for each other. She wondered where they were now. Had her parents had more fruit? She supposed she could have more siblings by now, it had been a while since she had stopped in. Goodness, for all she knew her siblings could have had fruit.

The white mare listened as Sunil talked. She waited patiently until he was done before she responded. "No siblings? Hadn't that been lonely growing up?" Really she should stop with the small talk. It was irritating her but then again she was rather intrigued at this point. Even if she was irritated it wouldn't fit for her to be rude. No, she had not been brought up that way.

Sunil considered the mares question for a few moments, absently swishing his tail as he did so - a habit he'd developed at some point whenever he was thinking about something, finally he seemed to come to a conclusion.

"Ah well...I expect it was sometimes, my Da was always off and about - adventuring he called it, mum just called it wandering...but mum and I were a close duo and we kept ourselves company. Can't say I regret getting out into the world though, much nicer to meet and make friends I say then to spend time roaming about alone" The Steed concluded with a grin - clearly he didn't seem to be too concerned with his lonely upbringing now that he was grown and out on his own. Sunil really wasn't one to harbor ill feelings towards others.

Lina nodded as she listened to the Stallion. Perhaps he had been lonely at times but she supposed he probably had a much closer relationship to his Dam than she had. She loved her own mother very much but she did suppose she wasn't too particularly close to any of her family. Of course she loved them all but it had been a while since she had seen them and part of the reason she had left home. She had needed some space and it was time for her to be out on her own.

"I can see what you mean." She told the stallion. "I remember wanting to leave home. Of course I love my family. But it had been time for me to get out on my own. I also suppose I was probably never as close with any of my siblings or either of my parents as you were with your mom. To be honest I'm a little envious."

Why had she just told him that? She really needed to keep her words in check or she would just keep rambling on and on.

Sunil listened politely as the mare recounted her thoughts on the subject - he could understand her want to leave, afterall everyone eventually wanted to make tier own way in life didn't they? Oh well he supposed there were probably homebodies out there somewhere...but Sunil couldn't quite grasp the point of staying in one place for your entire life.

"Envious? ah...I suppose we had a good relationship it's true, but look now you see we're both out and about with much the same goals it sounds like...seeking to make our own way in life, and most certainly a pretty creature such as yourself must have someone waiting to meet you" Of course for all Sunil knew he mare already had someone - but he was fairly certain she didn't, going by some of the things she had said.
