The last twenty-four hours had been somewhat of a blur for Jiao'lan. Her schedule had been something a kin to: get woken up, eat, sleep, be woken up, nurse, poking and prodding by the doctors, sleep, be woken up...and so the cycle went.

She was told that tomorrow she would have to 'get up and walk around a little'. The young mother didn't understand how doing something that would seemingly cause more pain, would help aid in the healing process but these people seemed to know what they were talking about. For now, at least, she was spared the arduous task and was slowly starting to have more bouts of lucidness.

It was nearing one in the afternoon when the infant began to fuss in the bassinet near the side of the bed.

Jiao'lan had been mindlessly watching a commercial selling some new miraculous home cleaning product while some obscenely cheerful woman spilt all sorts of horrendous items on a floor, and clothing then as easy as one, two, three, they were completely removed with, as the tag-line went, 'no muss or fuss'!

She pushed the button that controlled the bed level, into a far more upright position before reaching over the railing and picking the infant up, and cradling her. "How's me little girl? Hmmm?" She asked gently as the little girl opened her large, dark eyes and cooed. "Yesterday was kinda rough, wasn't it?" She asked, again knowing the little girl couldn't really answer. "Maybe your Otofiu'll be back today. I mean," She paused. "your daddy. He wants me to try and use English all words with you. I just kind of forget sometimes. So that'll be our secret, okay?" She asked as she nuzzled the infant's nose with her own. The little girl giggled.

Jiao'lan couldn't wait for Ke'rehl to return and for the naming ceremony, a few days later.
