So, they'd gotten their own little den, or at least found it. He hadn't quite talked to his mother about moving out, yet, but it was almost time! Lately, Chache and Caide had been spending more time together, getting to know each others little quirks and flaws, but that was part of the fun, wasn't it? That's what his mother told him once: "You love someone for their flaws, not their perfection. Their flaws means they're alive." So, Caide lived by that, or did now. Since he knew his feelings for the brown and red lioness, he'd tried to act better; more mature, more open minded, more friendly. Just all around tried hard to impress her. If it worked, he wasn't so sure.

These last few days, though, Caide as pulling double duty at the borders. There had been a rumor of a lion close by that he wanted to check out. That lion could be a threat. As a Ghost, it was his duty to figure out if he was or not. It meant, though, that Chache and Caide couldn't spend time together. Orange eyes softened as he tiredly wandered towards the den she shared with a few others and sat at the edge. Maybe she was at work, or coming home. Either way, he'd sit here and wait.

Whereas Caide was working double shifts, Chache had been given a few days off. She'd been there a while now, and it seemed her hard work had been noticed, and she'd been rewarded for it. Rolling onto her back, she purred contentedly, before sighing softly as she suddenly wished for the familiar gray lump of warmth by her. It was upsetting - hearing of her days off, she'd been so excited. She could spend more time with Caide! But it ended up he'd been working double shifts, so she'd been by herself for the majority of the time. Still - it was a nice rest.

Sighing again, she flopped onto her other side, glancing out of the den entrance. Wait, was that...some gray, outside? Ears perking in interest, she lazily pushed herself to her feet, padding out to check. As she spotted him she gave a loud, joyful squeak, leaping forwards and tackling him, showering his face with nuzzles and affectionate kisses.

The squeak informed him that Chache had, indeed, been inside and he'd been spotted. The tackle pushed him to the ground, but he didn't care. The nuzzles and kisses that followed drew an extremely loud purr from him and he wrapped an arm about her middle, keeping the girl close as he returned the affections, eyes slipping closed rather lazily.

"Hey, Chache.... Been having fun without me?" He spoke, words slurred with sleepiness. She'd be able to tell by how slow he was talking. He'd just come back form another double shift, and was taking tomorrow off, so he had to come see how she was doing.

She could feel the vibrations of his purrs and responded with stronger, louder ones of her own, pressing her nose to his gently before backing off of him, letting him get up. She smiled brightly with wide, happy eyes, bouncing on the spot as she easily picked up his words, responding with a quick shake of her head, followed by a pout. No, she hadn't been having fun at all! It'd be so boring! But now Caide was back, they could have fun!

Wiggling her butt in the air above her head, she bounced from side to side, clearly wanting to play a game

A game? Really? He sighed and shook his head as he got up. Caide had no energy for games right now. Instead, he moved over to her, tugging on her ear and then nuzzled against her neck. He wished he could, but he was just so tired. Did he really need to play a game? Really?

Backing up so Chace could read his lips, Caide said to her, "Just got off work. I'm too tired right now, Chache, but... Tomorrow...?" He would make a promise with her if she wanted it. After all, it was a free day for him.

She frowned at the shake of his head, standing quite still as he tugged on her ear, the same, confused, serious expression on her face as he backed up again so she could see him speak. Her ears drooped a little and sadness crossed her face at his words, but she reluctantly nodded, understanding. He was probably really tired. But...she wanted to play. What was it dad had always said? You don't always get what you want?

She nodded a little more enthusiastically at his suggestion of the next day, her tail beginning to sway a little as her smile grew a little wider.

When she was soothed, Caide smiled again and laid down on the ground, not caring about dirt or anything getting on him. He'd bathe later, or something. Probably not considering he didn't care about how he looked or smelled. Stretching sore muscles, Caide chuckled a little. "So you've had days off now? That's a little rare, hm?"

She instantly laid down beside him, enjoying the warmth his body provided, snuggling up close with her head resting on his shoulder. She watched his face carefully, finding it a little difficult to tell what he was saying due to being at an odd angle, but she soon worked it out and smiled sweetly, nodding. She shrugged at his second comment, tapping him on he nose with a paw gently. She'd been working hard!

The paw to his nose made him smile before he shifted to start grooming her neck. Yes, he was tired, but he'd gladly stay up and talk with Chache until she fell asleep. Caide was pretty good at that; staying awake thing. No matter how long he went without sleep, he'd always, always make sure Chache was asleep first. Even if they weren't exactly in the den. He knew she'd probably slink away to the den and he'd wander back to his own after missing her warmth.

"Pretty soon... We'll get our own den... 's to crowded in mine.. My brothers and I are getting so big.."

She purred at his grooming, wriggling around to give him better access, clearly enjoying it. He really was getting better, and she was enjoying it. Chache'kindu was quite a loving lioness, and needed hugs and cuddles to reassure her, that everything was alright. Some found it annoying - her siblings certainly had, not wanting to be cuddled by their deaf sister on a daily basis. But Caide...he was beginning to understand. Somewhat tired, she allowed her eyes to flicker shut, simply laying there, purring loudly. She missed what he said, not able to see his lips moving, enjoying the moment too much.

He saw her laying down and enjoying it, and he let the smile across his lips spread even wider. Despite her being smaller in size, she certainly had many things Caide didn't. Her ability to love nearly everything, for one. She was able to communicate though she heard nothing and couldn't speak. Caide couldn't do any of that. He tried, though, for her sake to be everything she wanted him to be, while still being himself. Surprisingly, it was coming easier and easier.

Grooming quit as he settled his head on her back. Maybe he'd just go to sleep like this. Cuddled close and listening to her purring. Soon enough, his purr that had been going the whole time, started to fade out as he drifted off into a dreamless slumber.

Chache felt him stop grooming, and opened a minty-coloured eye, tilting her head just slightly, a sweet smile spreading over her face as she spotted him, his head resting on her back as he drifted off to sleep. It was a really cute sight, actually. Settling back down, closing her own eyes, Chache's own purrs soon tapered off into gentle snores as the adolescent fell asleep too.
