Name:
Takahashi Miyako

Aliases/ Nicknames:
Miyako-chan

Physical Description:
Miyako is somewhat shorter than most, standing just below four feet tall. She has deeply-tanned, exotic skin, deep red eyes, and dirty blonde hair cut at her shoulder blades. When sparring or expecting combat situations, she pulls her hair back into a short phonytail.

Miyako is usually seen wearing the standard Shinigami uniform. Her Zanpakuto is held in a dark pink sheath, and the hilt is decorated with diagonal stripes of leather, alternating pink & white.

Zanpakuto:
Miyako has not yet achieved a Shikai release. Her Zanpakuto is a standard Katana in appearance, with a hilt alternating between pink and white strips of the leather grip. Her Zanpakuto is held in a dark pink sheath.

Special Accessories:
Miyako carries a wakizashi with her Zanpakuto, in a standard daisho style. Its hilt and sheath are styled similarly to her Zanpakuto.

Skills:
Currently, Miyako possesses average skill in all physical and mental aspects, and training in the basic Kido, levels 1-10.

She was a pop star in Japan before her death, and still possesses her voice and her dancing skills.

Abilities:
Miyako excels at most things related to music. As far as training and fighting goes, she excels at reading the moves of her opponents. She was trained in Kenjutsu Nito Ryu, fighting with both a Katana and a Wakizashi, in life by her foster father, and has a solid amount of training in fighting multiple opponents.

Personality:
Miyako is a happy, self-confident, and rather feisty woman who allows herself to enjoy life (or after-life, as the case may be) in the present and to its fullest. She has an irrational fear of insects, which has been present since viewing a horror movie with her foster father as a child. Something she has picked up more recently, however, has been the bad habit of stepping into situations that aren't any of her concern.

In her off time, Miyako enjoys singing, dancing, and sake.

Biography/History:
For as long as she can remember, Miyako had been the foster daughter of Takahashi Kensei, a descendant of a long line of Samurai. Miyako's parents had been mugged and killed when Kensei found her, then just a baby, and adopted her. Miyako became the focus of Kensei's life, and also became his student, allowing him to pass on his version of the Kenjutsu Nito Ryu fighting style. He was incredibly encouraging toward Miyako throughout her life, and was the driving factor encouraging her to become a pop star in Japan.

While Miyako's band never became huge, they were booked at several locations throughout Japan, including Tokyo, Iwakuni, and Okinawa before her death. At her last concert, the stage and gear collapsed, and most of the band was seriously injured. Miyako died in the Emergency Room, while the rest of the band survived. Takahashi Kensei stood by Miyako's side from the time she was allowed visitors in the ER to the time the last of her life force faded from her body. As it were, a group of shinigami from various squads happened to be watching the concert, and a Shinigami from the 4th Division stayed with her, ready to perform the Soul Burial, if needed.

For several months after arriving at the Rukongai, she struggled with accepting what had happened to her. However, when she began singing at a tavern in the Rukongai, she rediscovered the joy she felt while singing and dancing. The reverie helped to awaken her Reiatsu, and Miyako, after learning about the Shinigami and the man who had sent her to Soul Society, sought to become a Shinigami, in the hopes of giving her second life a meaningful purpose.

Powers:
Currently, Miyako has no special powers of note.
