It had taken two hours, a lot of coaxing, a bit of fancy footwork and a damn good time for the rest of his siblings to take a nap - but he made it out, and he was free! Prancing through the pride's land, the little silver cub kept his head high up in pride as he searched out for his momentary prey - his father.
Being from a large litter, time alone with one's parent was sparse and rarely awarded - so having a small window for himself felt pretty good. With a bounce in his step, Radhia went back to his search for his father.

Vestip wasn't near the den at that point in time. He'd learned a long time ago to stay away from there when the children had to be put down to sleep. It was just uncomfortable to watch or listen too, the whining and crying and coxing and running. An overall unpleasant experience in the white adult's short life as a father.
For the odd eyed male, it wouldn't be a surprise if one of the cubs woke up from their nap and attempt to go off an adventure, so he often stayed down by borders closest to the den, but far enough away he didn't have to listen. He wasn't around his kids a whole lot, because most of them hated him, and because Mawu made him sad when she looked at him. She looked so miserable and so upset and he hated that look. That's why he wasn't around.
Yawning a bit wider, Vestip shifted, laying on his side in the sun, soaking it up before the cold season set in. His eyes were open, but barely and his tail thumped heavily on the ground.

GASP.
Target acquired. Crouching as far down as he could, Radhia stared down the familiar white lion, laying like a lazy old man in the grasses, his fur glinting off the sunlight like the morning dew off the leaves. He was ready for this, he would pounce his father today!
Winding himself up, Radhia lifted his rear in the air, stripe-adorned tail flashing in the air, white and yellow tip flashing like a a signal, just raring to go. After a few held moments, he waited for the perfect opportunity - and he was off!
Darting towards his father, his steps were still sloppy and child like, but he got to where he wanted to be. With one fell swoop, he launched himself in the air, his target? Vestip's open and defenceless stomach. With a big breath of air, he shouted out. "I GOT'CHA, DADDY!"

Vestip's eyes might not be that great, but his hearing was. Little paws rustled the grass and he sighed a little. Which one of his children was going to be in trouble this time? When the rustling picked up, Vestip thought for a moment. Who was it? It would drive him insane.
When the rustling stopped, Vestip arched a brow and shifted slightly until a silver blob planted itself firmly on his stomach, causing the air to be knocked form his lungs. With a groan and a half whine, the lion looked down and frowned at one of his sons. "Radhia....?" He blinked a bit more before yawning and wincing, pushing the little body off his stomach. "You're getting to big for this.." His tail thumped in an annoyed, but playful, manner.
This is why some of his children didn't like him. He didn't play with them, didn't really help raise them in any way. He was just... here. Occasionally hunting and saying hello. He might give one or two a bath, but he didn't seem to want to get close.

Success.
All though his father knew he was coming from his clumsy running, the short time he was able to attach himself to warm fur that littered his father's stomach area in 'attack' was priceless - as were the sounds his father had made. He was a good hunter, and he knew it.
"I win, I win~." He exclaimed, as he was pushed off his prize, he landed softly on his own back, his butt still a little in the air, being suspended by the side of his father, his bright green eyes reflecting off the night glows, almost smiling to his father with just his gaze.
"You just looked so bored outside, Daddy, so I wanted to make you feel better." He admitted, his smiling eyes never wavering. Although he was aware that Vestip kept his distance from his Mommy and siblings, but that was just a minor inconvenience to him.

Vestip knew this particular son was fond of him, at least... for now. He put a big paw on that two toned hair of his and rubbed Radhia's head softly, rolling his eyes. "I wasn't bored.." Way to lie to his son. Truth was, ever since he came to this pride he'd been bored. He couldn't go chase females, or at least flirt with them. He'd been, in his opinion, confined to the pride and had to be respectful to females. It wasn't right.
He straightened himself into a sitting position and then stretched out, listening to his back and joints pop. "But thanks.. ....I think. For... caring?" What did one say to a son that wanted him happy? Hell, Vestip couldn't remember his own parents, so how would he know?

Murring at the small affection that his father allowed, he watched the emotions cross his face as he fought his internal battles. Radhia knew him only in this way - he had never seen his father in bliss or happiness, just internal confusion - even if he tried to show his emotion a little more.
"Of course, Daddy, I mean, what else could I do. And you seem a little better." Radhia stated, wiggling himself off his back and back on his four yellow tipped paws, long tail flickering on the ground still. "Something seems to be bothering you, tho. Wanna talk about it? It'll make you feel better!" He chirped. He just wanted to help.

He blinked at the innocent insight his son offered and shook his head. Why were children so ...... observatory? It didn't make any sense. They should be side tracked with playing and not caring about anything. Were children different in this pride? He shifted to his paws and stretched out, feeling unused muscle pull and burn in his back and sides. Gods, he missed being out in the open. He missed her.
Mismatched green eyes looked down to his silver son and he gave a sad sort of smile; a female would find it heartbreaking on his proud face. "Nothing you need to worry about, boy. Trust me. You can't do anything to help me; not unless you can bring me her." Of course the boy wouldn't know who he was talking about. He'd never talked about her here. She was Kabu; the one his heart was with right now. That short, stocky swamp lioness that understood him and was probably pretty mad at him for leaving her alone again.

Watching the emotions flicker back and forth once again on his father's face, Radhia sat in front of him, waiting to see if he could be of help, eyebrows risen on his face. After a short pregnant pause his father started to mumbled something a little negatively; which had little effect on his youthful face.
"Did you lose someone, dad?" he questioned, tilting his head a little to the left, his childhood curiousity showing on his face. "I could help you find her for you! I can see really well, I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard!" He just wanted to see his parents happy. . .

He shook his head a bit and gave another sigh. Even if all his son wanted was put a smile on his face; he couldn't do it in this pride. His heart was somewhere else, and his paws itched to follow the pull to her. Vestip closed his eyes and ran a paw over his face before looking to Radhia again. "Look. You can't help me find who I'm looking for. I know where to go if I wanted to see this person again. But I doubt they'd want anything to do with me. Not a lot do. I'm not a very likable male. I mean, I am, but for short periods of time.
"What I'm trying to say is thanks, but no thanks. Shouldn't you be napping?" Clearly, Vestip had no clues how to handle his children. He wasn't 'father' material! He just wasn't. He had to talk to Mawu and see about leaving. His staying was doing no good for his family. Or hers.

"Well, that's a shame." Radhia quipped back, giving his father a sympathetic smile - showing that no matter how he felt about him, he was still his father. "But, I dunno, I think we all still like you - you are our father. Can't escape blood!" He quipped softly, before looking behind him at the cave that he had skittered from, with bright green eyes.
"Well, I'm not really tired, but. . ." he trailed, looking at Vestip once more, smiling at him happily, "I should try to be a good brother and watch over my siblings while they are sleeping." Getting up, he rubbed against his father once before bounding back to the cave.
"Be happy, Daddy."

Vestip nodded and frowned. It was true. No matter how much he wasn't liked by his family, family was family. Blood would always be thicker than water. Which is why what he had to talk to Mawu about would be so hard.
He watched his silver son head toward the den and nodded a little bit. "Be careful not to wake them." Though the boy's words would always ring in his head, no matter where he went. All anyone ever wanted was to see their family happy.
