Here, in Washington, we are going to be having a little convention called Steamcon. It's the first ever. Abney park will be performing in their home state. It goes on for 3 days and I'll hopefully be attending all of days.
If anyone is curious, I'll be wearing this lovely piece from Retroscope. Blue satin blouse with cravat Black satin bustle skirt without petticoat Not very "steam", I know, but I had a budget to work with on such short notice so I went with what I already had.
How many living in Washington are going? The membership is running out fast, so if you plan to attend, better get it before Friday.
Hope to see you all there! heart

I would love to go, I had heard about it in Abney Park's blog. Unfortunately, I'm still broke from seeing them in Atlanta. =

Quicksilver Crusade I would love to go, I had heard about it in Abney Park's blog. Unfortunately, I'm still broke from seeing them in Atlanta. = Every time Abney Park comes to Washington it's always a 21+ show, so I've never been able to see them. I'm very excited to see them, to say the least. :3 I hope you can see them again! surprised And I hope they are good as well.

If by chance you feel the need to purchase some leather gloves for your costume at quite an inexpensive price, I suggest you try Target. At the moment they're selling some.

Amythyst Kimball I.AM.SO.JEALOUS. WHY do I have to live in Utah and have no money to travel?! Well, I'm almost sure Steamcon will happen again. They've already sold out and this is the first steampunk convention in Washington. Perhaps next time!?

Aaugh, why am I just now finding out about this?
It isn't like I could go anyway, being across the country and without the auxiliary money needed to make the trip. And Steamcon falls on my birthday, too.

Move it to the other side of the states imo! NC really doesn't have many con's... A couple small comic & hobby ones run by the local shops... Mostly it seems its all guns and cars, bah!

Don't worry. I did take some pictures of some of the people there. I mostly recorded Abney Park's concert though. It's very hard to take photos at conventions I realized. There was people all over the place.

SteamCon was amazing. Loved every minute of it. We've already out grown the venue to!
