Antony scowled, reaching up and rubbing his temple. He had searched for the old lady the entire night before and failed to find her. Here it was the next night and he was right back at the park. He didn't see her anywhere. He would have to start searching on his own. It was frustrating, to say the least.
He dropped down on the bench where the lady had said, his legs spread out in front of him, his hands in the pockets of his long blue trench. A scowl graced his still pretty face and he wished, for the first time, that he knew where Thanatos was.

He'd stayed out too late again and now the sun had sunk below the horizon. The doors to Test's house would be locked, which meant Touda had to find somewhere else to spend the night. He didn't really mind all that much, however. There was something about the October moon that set his blood to singing, a feeling that was strangely exciting.
Wandering the streets was something the boy enjoyed, especially since he'd gained a human form and found he had a lot to think about. The mischevious mononoke had turned into a semi-angsty child.
Rounding a corner, Touda spotted a familiar figure which caused his eyes to light up. "Antony?" He approached the blue haired boy with a questioning smile on his face. "What're you doing out here?"

Antony blinked, looking at the boy for a long, long moment before checking his senses. "Touda?" he finally asked. "Last time I saw you, you were small and furry--you're ah, looking taller."

A faint grin flashed across Touda's face and he shrugged, trying to be nonchalant about the whole situation. "I can still be small and furry... but I dont mind being taller. I'm not invisible anymore." He wasn't sure wether this was an improvement or not, yet. "You don't look very happy. Whats wrong?" Uninvited, Touda took a seat on the bench next to Antony.

Antony hesitated, thinking about it. Then he jerked as he heard a very familiar voice bellowing something in the distance. "Chris," he said, stilling for a moment.
"There's a problem," he told the boy next to him. "I'm just not sure what it is, exactly. I came this way last night after work and an old woman was sitting here. She told me there's a problem, and it would get bigger as it got closer to Halloween. But she didn't tell me what it was--"
And then he realized he was telling this to a kid. "Don't--I shouldn't have told you that."

Touda frowned, feeling something inside him responding to what Antony had said. It wasn't anything he could define, though. A fleeting feeling, like a lost memory. He shook his head a little to clear it.
"There have been weird things going on at Test's place, too." The boy informed Antony, then realized that his life had changed so much since he'd last saw him. "Test - thats who we're living with now, we ran away from the lab - she wont talk about it in front of us. But I've seen..." He didn't know how to describe it. "She's been having strange visitors. They look like people, but they're not." His voice lowered to a whisper at that last part.

"Are the beings dangerous? Have they threatened you--"
"Antony!" a duel voice bellowed, making Antony glance up as a rampaging starmaker raced for them. "They took her!" he bellowed. "I want my little sister back, dammit. You've got to help me find her!"
"Wait--what--Carmel?" Antony asked, trying to keep track of what was going on.

Touda's eyes stretched wide at the sight of Chris. He'd never seen anyone so big before, nor heard a voice so beautiful. It took him a moment to process what the two of them were talking about. The name Carmel sounded vaguely familiar.
"Who took her?" Touda demanded, frowning. It was in his nature to feel protective over innocents. Doubly so if the innocents were girls.

"Something I couldn't see, but she could," Chris muttered, glancing at the boy blankly for a long moment. "Who are you?" he asked as he realized he didn't know the kid.
"I told you this would happen," Antony muttered, feeling his stress go up twice as high as it had been.

"I'm Touda." He frowned a little. "I think I remember her, your sister. With the ribbon tail?" His eyes narrowed in thought. "She could see me. Before. That means she has spirit-sight, you know." He gazed at Chris. "We danced." He added softly, with a little smile. "She was fighting with another girl, a dwarf who'd put a booger on her shirt." He looked at Antony. "You think it has to do with the old lady you met?"

"She's got more than just spirit sight," Antony said with a sigh. "I'm not quite sure what she is right now, but she might be a slayer of some sort when she grows up. Which makes it far too obvious that it has something to do with--" He stopped as Chris lifted him by his shirt.
"What old lady where?" Chris demanded.
"She's disappeared! And I hardly doubt she would kidnap a child!"

"A slayer?" This reminded Touda of something, but he couldn't think of what. It was that feeling, again. That feeling that there was supposed to be more inside his head than what was really there. He let out a growl of frustration and with a faint "poof" shifted into his animal form.
It was only seconds before he shifted back, his eyes gleaming with what should have been fear, but wasn't. Not quite. "Oi!" He shouted at Chris and Antony, trying to be heard over their bickering. "Shut up!" He glanced upwards. The sky seemed normal, but when he'd taken his mononoke form... "Theres something wrong. Really, really wrong."

"Where?" both males asked him, Antony still a good half a foot off the ground.
"Show us, don't tell us!" Chris said as he dropped the older male and looked at the boy. He didn't care if the kid had just done something he didn't understand, he just wanted to find his little sister!

Touda pointed upwards. Though the sky looked normal again, he could still somehow feel the pulsing sense of danger that had emanated from the tear. It was etched in his memory now, and he couldn't forget it. What was worse, instead of fearing it as he knew he should, he felt an odd sort of excitement instead.
"Up there. The sky... theres a tear in it!" He looked from one to the other. "I couldn't see it until I went into my mononoke form, though." He added as a lame attempt to make them feel better if they couldn't see the rift. "I dont know what it is, but I don't think it's anything good."

Antony closed his eyes, oddly enough. When Chris started to say something he lifted a hand, motioning for silence. "You're right," he said finally. "There's a big gathering of spirits there. But..."
"Carmel," Chris said, grabbing Antony again. "Is my little sister there?"
"I can't tell."
"Take us to the hole," Chris told Touda.
