hey you guys. so heres the deal. i was just sitting here at my computer watching videos on youtube and suddenly, it hit me. This world is so full of prejiduce and violence and racism and sexism and horrible, evil, just outrite hateful souls. this is the world i live in. the world WE live in.This realization actually hurt my soul. i felt it. and now...i feel so small. like, im adrift but i dont know..where exactly. I actually dont really have a question, but...i guess if you've ever felt like this, or just ever had a life altering epiphany, share. im curious. ]

always, mann.
but you can't let that stuff bring you down!
Fortitude, comrade!! D:<
Think of Atlas with the world on his shoulders. He's got one helluva burden, but he does not give up. he does what needs to be done, and so must we. Even if you take it a day at a time, well, that's something. and it's better than hiding under pillows.
So will you accept Gandhi's challenge to "be the change you want to see," or will you silently watch as the levels of violence, ignorance, and hatred increase exponentially?
For if you choose the latter, I fear you've the wrong guild, mann.

I agree with Volupine.
Indeed, I feel this almost all of the time. Billions of people. A billion is a big number. How big? A billion seconds ago, it was the late 1970's. A billion minutes ago was just after the time of Christ. A billion hours ago man had not yet walked on earth.
That's how many people are on the Earth . . . times three. There are more people alive today than the combined lives off all of the people who have ever lived.
It should not matter how many of those people are evil, how many are good, and how many are ignorant. It should only matter if you are good and have made a change for the better in some of their lives, and you are striving to make it better for the rest. That is all that matters, my dear. =D

[[first off, I feel like a proud mother, reading your posts]]

I agree, you can only try to make it better, try to find those who, like you, dislike the world we live in.
You can only try to change, and if you fail, at least you tried.
I would rather know I died trying to make a change, leave a path for others to follow, than to live life the way others do, or simply hide myself away.

Woot woot!! Go you!
Congratsies again on finishing your hw to get sleep tonight XDD!
Oh, and I remember a lovely song that was sung in alternative chapel once. Methinks someone on campus may have written it. It's about changing the world, and it's quite lovely. You may find I quote the first few lines every so often XDD!

"You Might Die Trying"
Written by: Mark Batson, Carter Beauford, Stefan Lessard, Dave Matthews, Leroi Moore, and Boyd Tinsley

To change the world
Start with one step
However small
The first step is the hardest of all
Once you get your gait
You will walk tall
You never said you did
Cause you might die trying
Cause you might die trying

If you close your eyes
Cause the house is on fire
And think you couldn't move
Until the fire dies
The things you never did
Oh, cause you might die trying
Cause you might die trying
You'd be as good as dead
Cause you might die trying
Cause you might die trying

If you give, you, you begin to live
If you give, you begin to live
You begin, you get the world
If you give, you begin to give
You get the world, you get the world
If you give, you begin to live

You might die trying
Oh, you might die trying
Yeah, you might die trying
The things you never did
Cause you might die trying
You'd be as good as dead
You never did

Yes, in the long run we are all small pieces of a giant puzzle. Prejudices have no basis and only serve to delay progression, but what can we do? We're a small voice and we have to scream our lungs out to be heard by the world, and even then the majority will just turn away and ignore us. Help with what little you can. Instead of thinking of the large picture focus on the small pieces and try to make them right, the way they should be, everyone does a little, and a large change comes out in the end.

[boo's guild]

I think we can make a change.

Yes, one needs to start small, but why stay small when you can go for bigger things?

I will always stay with this small guild, but eventually, I will do bigger things with my life, to change the world.

I'm not going to waste my life.

Yupyup! I think it was Mother Tyressa who said something like, "If you can't solve world hunger, solve world hunger for one person."
I don't know if anyone's mentioned that yet. I love how she's the posterchild for service. I found out that she died, though. Sad day. D=
One story I recall from reading something by someone who had met her was that she had deformed feet. Her feet were messed up because, when people sent shoes, she would dig through the pile for the rattiest pair so no one else would have to wear them.
I find this quite inspiring!

Methinks everyone in this guild is a part of that or they wouldn't be in the guild (probably).
Wootness!
As long as you don't start a speech with "Frends, countrymen, lend me your ears!"
Because I just got my ear to grow back after the last time that happened.
