What better place for a Halloween party than a cemetery? There was a large mausoleum in the center of the boneyard, surrounded by a small clearing. It was here that the party was set up. A couple tables held food, coolers holding the drinks at the end. There were some games set up: bobbing for apples, pin the sheet on the ghost, and a pinata hanging from a leafless tree. There were a couple tables set up for making your own caramel apples and lollipop ghosts. Spooky, Baroque-esque music played from a boombox near the mausoleum. Everything was set up.

Darcy sat upon the mausoleum itself, perched upon it's roof. She and her brother had dressed in matching costumes: a princess and her servant, both of them clad in black and emerald green velvet. The wind rustled her hair as she looked out over the cemetery, keeping an eye out for their guests. Jaella had delivered the invites earlier that week, so all that was left to do now was wait.

Aaron stood near the door of the mausoleum, holding a basket full of goodie-bags in his gloved hands. With how still he was, one might mistake him as a statue, as part of the monument. Only the rise and fall of his chest, along with the occaisonal blink, gave proof that he was alive.

Jaella skipped about, straightening things here and there. She was dressed in a long, flowing green gown, her hair decorated with leaves and braids. She was dressed as the stereo-typical woodland elf, not that she knew that. She just knew that she felt pretty.

When Thali had gotten the invitation, she had made up her mind not to go. Her costume wasn't in any way offensive--well, it might have been to a certain someone she really didn't want to offend. She was Leanan Sidhe. Though indeed, the costume was well made, it was clear the elf had never seen the fae. She had made herself extremely pale, with fangs and fake blood coming from her mouth. She was in all black, her hair was down.

She resembled a vampire more than anything else. She frowned slightly as she spotted Jaella's costume, and an eyebrow twitched, but she seemed to calm down after a moment. Sammi and Reiya were tagging along with her; their personalities matched their costumes well.

Sammi was a flower fairy, one of the sterotypical ones people liked to find in their gardens. The ones that came out of flowers and wore the petals. She had a huge grin pastered on her face, which grew (if that was possible) when she saw Jaella. "Hi Kitty!" She cried, waving to her friend. Even though Sammi was bigger now, and knew Jaella's real name, the nickname had stuck. "Hi Aaron, hi Darcy," she added, giving the twins a bright smile. "You make a very nice prince, Aaron."

Reiya on the other hand, had opted for the dark side. She was dressed as a witch. As soon as she spotted Darcy, an almost identical smile to her sister's crossed her features. "Hi Darcy!" She said, waving. She walked over to them. "How are you?" It seemed that Reiya was friendly towards the people she knew.

~~~~
Zee had been dragged to the party by his toddler sons, both of them. Devin was dressed as a ninja, but only because his father wouldn't let him dress as an assassin. "We there, Daddy?" The little dark elf asked, looking up at his father.
"We're here," Zee assured him with a smile, inwardly wishing that they weren't. But he was supposed to meet Stasia here, and that made up for it.
Howl was making his way towards Darcy. "You bad girl!" He cried in obvious anger. "Where Thophie?! I wan Thophie!" His annoyance was just, too. Darcy had been the one to bring him to this world. "Get Thophie. Now." He was dressed in a Luke Skywalker costume, which really didn't seem to fit his mood. Jedi weren't supposed to express emotion. He looked up at her, a tiny scowl marring adorable features. "I hate getting angry."
Jaella grinned, waving. "Hey Sammi!" she greeted, grinning from ear to ear. "Wow, you're getting so tall!" The purple-haired girl was simply amazed by the twins' sudden growth, even if it was the norm for children of their origin. It still amazed her.
Aaron smiled, nodding. "Thank you, Sammi." he said, the statuesque stillness melting away like frost. He didn't mention that he wasn't supposed to be a prince; that would just be splitting hairs, no? "I'm glad you and your sister could make it. I hope you enjoy yourselves."
Darcy smiled, hopping down from her perch. "Hello, Reiya." she said, greeting the child. Though, could she still think of the girl as a child now that they appeared the same age? Apparently so. "I am well, thank you. And yourself?" Darcy blinked, looking to Howl. She then giggled, amused by the toddler's anger. "It is nice to see you, Howl." she said, ignoring his words as she addressed him by his true name.
----------
Stasia made her way towards Zee, smiling. "Hey, there, Zee." she greeted, smiling. "Where's your costume?" Stasia obviously had hers; she was dressed in an outfit that looked like gypsie-meets-pirate. She blinked, looking down at Howl.....why did he look so angry?
Noel was pacing back and forth, waiting for his sister to come and drop off Irae so they could go to the party. He personally thought there was something wrong with the twins, planning a party outside in a graveyard. A CHILDREN'S party. He shook his, sighing, what in the world to do..
"Daddy, Daddy!! Is Irae here?" Alome came toddling down the stairs, and Noel smiled at how cute she was. The little.. child was draped in a toga, with a golden rope at the waist. The toga came to her knees, and she wore a faux olive leaf laurel. On her feet were laced up golden sandals that were laced up to mid calf, and she also had a small cape that went half way down her back, connected to the top of her toga with a golden tassel on each of her shoulders.
Noel smiled, He, himself was dressed as an Old Victorian Dandy. His hair was curled to the hundredth power, and he was covered in ruffles, from head to foot, and he had a small top hat pinned to the top of his head.
"Not yet, sweetie, wait! There he is!" He watched as Mela hurriedly gave Irae to him, then dashed away. "LATE FOR WORK!! SEE YOU TOMORROW!" She called over her shoulder, hopping into her car and pulling away fast.
Irae sighed watching his mother dash away without a hug, or an I love you. But once he saw his cousin and glomped her. "'Lome so Pwetty!!" He squeaked. He himself was dressed as a pinja, a pirate ninja. He wore a striped headband that covered one of his eyes, and another that hid his mouth. his midrift was rapped in bandages, and he wore a half shirt, both underneath a pirate captins coat. He also wore boots and a cross belt that had a holster on it, containing a water gun in one, and a the other held a plastic kunai. A rapier also hung at his side. though it was a wooden one.
Noel giggled at how cute his nephew was and ushered both of the children into the car, driving to the grave yard.
Once there, the kids scrambled to the party, looking around eagerly to find someone to play with. After a few moments, the spotted Sammi and Reiya. Alome dashed over to them, but Irae hung back, feeling a bit.. Akward since he didn't know many people.
Noel himself approached Thali and Zee, along with another woman he didn't know too well. "Good Evening, All."
After greeting Aaron and Darcy, Sammi's interest was drawn to something else. Her younger cousin, to be exact. Why was he so angry? Who was this Sophie he was asking Darcy for? A pet? Maybe one of his friends? She looked at Darcy and shrugged. She might as well leave the older girl to deal with him. She'd remind Darcy of the promised necklace later.
Sammi smiled, walked over to Jaella, and gave her friend a hug. "Not quite as tall as you are, though," she said with a grin. "It's good to see you again, I've missed you." She paused, and looked towards the caramel apples. "Want to make one with me?" She asked. "We can catch up there."
Reiya frowned for a moment, realizing she and Darcy were the same size. She'd always seen Darcy as big. Then she brightened; if they were the same age, they could be even better friends. It meant they could have sleep overs and hang out and go shopping; like Mom liked to do with her friends. "I'm good," she said with a smile. "Missed you, though. Uncle Zee says you haven't been feeling good, are you better now?" She tilted her head, bright eyes clouded with concern. She paused, and glanced at Howl. "Don't be rude, cousin Howl," she said with a frown. "Sorry about him. Uncle Zee says he likes to run off and look for this Sophie--whoever she is." She leaned forward, and whispered, "I haven't taken my necklace off since you gave it to me."
~~~~

Zee put a hand into his pocket and pulled out a pointed white hat. He placed it on his head. It clashed with his white-silver hair, but he didn't seem to notice. "See? I'm a smurf." Normally, Zee wouldn't have been caught dead using the word smurf, or claiming to be one. But tonight was Halloween--and that made all the difference. "I like your costume," he added with a knowing grin. "Very fitting. Just don't go around stealing hearts. You've already stolen mine." After saying his trademark cheesy line, he looked to Noel. "Good evening," he said politely. "Are you staying for the party as well?"

Howl glared up at Darcy. "Darthy..." It was hard to believe a toddler could sound threatening, but Howl managed it. "Darthy, if you don't bring Thophie..." He paused, and muttered something under his breath, before the toddler side of him seemed to take over. "I thorry, Darthy," he said
apologetically, before heading over to Stasia. "Mommy!"

Devin tilted his head up at Stasia, before hugging her around the knees. Ha, he beat Howl to the punch--well, in this case the hug. "Mommy pretty to-day," he informed her as wisely as a toddler could. "I ninja."

~~~~~
Risa didn't like graveyards, and it showed. Her costume was uncomfortable as well. She was a sterotypical vampiress; for Matthias' benefit of course. Fangs, fake blood, pale skin, the works. The costume was also too showy for her tastes, but again... She was trying to be something completely different than what she normally was. The only way Thali recognized her was the green infant in her arms.
Ellie had opted to go as a flower, and fit the part. She had a petal mane around her face, and had a charming smile spread across her face. "Where Daddy?" She asked, looking up at her mother.
"Coming."
"When?"
"Soon. I left Milo with him," Risa said with an evil smile. Was she playing her character, or was that out of place smile genuine?
Whatever it was, Loki liked it. He normally didn't get along with his mother, but tonight was an exception. Normally, he would have been pulling pranks and pulling her hair. Risa's hair was up as it was, so he couldn't reach it anyway. "Mommy, I go see Auntie," He told his mother with a dazzling smile that didn't match his outfit. He was supposed to be a fruit bat, but had insisted that he was a vampire bat--without fangs.
Jaella grinned, hugging Sammi. "You're getting there..." she said, giggling. "I missed you too! I would have stopped by, but I've been so busy." She then nodded, grabbing Sammi's hand and all but dragging the younger child over to the table. "Oh, yesyesyes! Caramel apples are NUMMIFULS!"
Darcy smiled. "I've been feeling fine." she said, her tone making it hard to tell if she was being truthful or not. Was that hint of laugh out of amusement or nervousness? She giggled, glancing at Howl, all but ignoring the little wizard's threat. "It's okay. Children oft have their fits and tantrums. Can't begrudge them because of that." She smiled at Reiya's words, ruffling her hair. "That's good to hear....it looks wonderful on you." she said, pleased.
Aaron waved to Noel and company as they entered, offering a small smile in greeting. He also greeted Risa and her children in the same manner, acting like a store greeter: just smile and wave until adressed.
----------
Stasia giggled. "I won't go stealing other hearts. Cross my heart and hope to age." she said, grinning from ear to ear. She turned to Noel, smiling at him. "Hey, what's up?" she greeting, holding up her hand and expecting a high-five. Did she know this person? No. Did that matter to her? No. She looked down at the kidlets, ruffling Devin's hair. "Hey there, sweeties." she said, greeting both of the little ones. "And thank you, Devin. You're quite an intimidating ninja, aren't you?"
Through all this, her hand was still up; she expected a high-five.
----------
Matthias looked absolutely THRILLED. This was SO the last time he trusted Stasia with anything wardrobe-related. The usually tall, dark, and gloomy fae was clothed in all white garbs with pastel blue accents, two feathery wings attached to his back much like a back-pack. His long black hair was decorated with random braids, gold thread woven in with the hair, and a golden headband cutting across his forehead. A halo hung suspended from a wire attached to the headband.
The dark toddler behind him was howling....with laughter. Daddy looked like a sissy! And apparently, the little guy found this hilarious. Milo's eyes fell on the table off food.....numnums! He began running, making a beeline for his goal.
Noel blinked at the woman with her hand up, and couldn't help but giggle, high fiveing her back. He felt so childish, but.. It was Halloween~ He could let his hair down for now~ "Now that we got that out of our systems~ Good evening~ I'm Noel~ Pleased to meet you~"
The little vocaloid boy shifted from foot to foot, feeling very out of place, sitting at the end of one of the tables. He wanted to interact with people, he truly did, but.. He Hadn't met any of the other kids before except for Jae, and felt as if they would reject him for wanting to play. Irae simply nibbled on a little cookie, watching the rest of the crowd enjoying themselves.
Alome, on the other hand, was flying around to Sammi, tugging on her sleeve. "Sammi!! Sammi Hai!!"
PostPosted: Mon Oct 05, 2009 3:56 pm
Sammi willingly followed her friend to the sweet's table. "I'm going to put candy corn on mine!" She told her friend happily, before noticing Alome. "Hi Alome!" She said brightly. "This is my friend, Jaella," she gestured to the older girl. "Kitty, this is my friend Alome." She paused, and smiled at both of her friends. "Want to make caramel apples with us?" Sammi sat down at the table, and picked out her apple. "What are you going to decorate yours with, Kitty?"
"That's good, I was really worried when Uncle Zee said you weren't feeling good," Reiya said, giving a relieved smile. She obviously believed her friend. "Zee says Howl likes to misbehave," she said with a grin. "I wonder why, I was never ill behaved." That was an outright lie, but it didn't show on her face.
Thali had caught sight of Matthias' costume. A smirk crossed her face, matching the darkness that was her costume. She trailed over to him, smiling. "Hey Matth, nice costume." She said, without hint of sarcasum. "I like how you and Risa decided to be opposites this year. It's cute." She gestured to Risa, knowing full well that it hadn't been intentional--if it had, Risa would have told her. "Can you tell who I am?" She asked, a teasing glint in her eyes. "I'm Leanan Sidhe." Of course, she had no idea of Matthias' relation to the fae.
~~~~~

"Good, I'd hate to have to punch someone," Zee said; it was hard to tell if he was being serious or not. He took the hat off of his head. "I think I make a better elf than a smurf, though." There, that was his serious tone. But there was glint of mischeif in his eyes as he glanced towards Matth. "Hey, Matth! Nice costume!" He said, waving at the less than happy looking fae. He still felt the need to take revenge on Matthias for that thing Jaella had informed him off. As for now, he might as well pretend to be polite.

"I Jedi!" Howl boasted, realizing his brother had gotten more attention than he had. He couldn't have that, could he? No. He needed the most. Why couldn't people just realize that? "I Luke! Thee?" He took out a plastic green lightsaber. "I immitimidatin' too!"

Devin stuck his tongue out at his brother, before glancing up at his mother. "I good ninja. Daddy thay no athathin, though..." The tiny dark elf looked disappointed for a moment, that is, until he saw Matth. "Hi Unca Matth!" He cried, waving.

Which of course, made Howl look that way as well. "Unca Matth pretty!" He added by way of greeting.

~~~~~
Risa paused to stare at Matth when he arrived. She hadn't known he had been been planning on dressing up as an angel! She liked it, and unlike Thali and Zee, she actually thought it looked nice. Though being a seelie might have made her biased. She made her way to him, offering him a smile that didn't fit her costume at all. "You look nice, Matth." She said honestly. "But the halo is a bit much." She reached up and took it off. "That's better. Now you just look like a seelie that's overdone it." Well, the opposite could have been said for her, not that she knew it.
Loki noticed his father, and made a dash for him. "Daddy!" he cried, not seeming to have noticed his father's costume yet. "Daddy! I bat, see?" He flapped his arms, the material connecting his arms to his outfit did resemble bat wings. "Daddy angel today?" He asked in surprise. Of course, Loki would have never thought of teasing his father. Matth was his favorite parent. "Cool. Angel and bat cool."
Kait looked at the scene ahead, not sure that she had read Jaella's letter right. And yet there, right ahead of her she could see the tell-tale signs of the party. Wrinkling her nose, she glanced over at Exile. It hadn't been easy to convince him to do it, but she was impressed with the outcome. He was dressed head to toe in forest-y greens and browns, with a blade slung loosely across his hip. His normally messy black hair was brushed and braided in small braids, pulled back and held together by a tiny ribbon. His already pointed ears sealed the deal, declaring him a stereotyped elf. She had pulled all of her inspiration from a movie they had rented recently. She was dressed in light and airy blues and whites, with a pair of multi-colored wings attached to her back. She had eventually given up trying to hide her prized black ears and tail, but she had done her best to work around them instead. Still, looking down at the infant in her arms, she felt that she had cheaped out. But it had been his choice after all. She set him down as she reached the group of adults that had begun to form. He clung to her leg, his tattered clothing dangling off and the face blood smeared on his face starting to rub off on her. "Hello."
Hunter looked around, trying to look friendly despite looking like what he believed to be a terrifying werewolf. He wondered if he would find someone to play with.
Maru smiled, revealing her fake fangs as they walked towards the cemetary. Maru really liked her costume, dressed as a dark fairy which was almost the compelte opposite of her personality. She was dressed in a dark purple and black dress that reached her knees. She also had on a pair of dark purple wings to match her dress. (her real wings were much too bright to go with this outfit.) She had put on lots of dark eyeliner and on the outside corner of each eye she had long swirls of eyeliner going down her cheek. She couldn't wait to see everyone else's costumes!
Luke mumbled, walking behind Maru,clearly not pleased at all with his costume. But Maru had wanted them to have matching costume so here he was, wearing dark clothes and of all things black fairy wings. Luke smiled a little, reavealing his fake fangs too. Next year he was so getting Maru back. Part of the deal of him dressing like this had been next Halloween he got ot pick their outfits. He couldn't wait!
Natalie was so excited for the party sh was jumping up and down the whole walk thorugh the cemetary. She couldn't wait to see what Sammi, Reiya and Howl had dressed up as for Halloween! She was also excited to show off her costume. She was dressed as a regular fairy. She had a light yellow colored dress on that came down to the top of her knees and she was wearing a daisy crown that her mother had made. She also had her white wings out to complete the costume (little did Luke know they were real, not fake). "Mommy are we there yet?" Natalie asked, trying and failing to be patient. Maru nodded, "Were allmost there sweetie!"
Alome smiled and waved to Jae. "Hello, big girl!! Her hands picked out the tiniest apple, putting a tiny stick into it as well. "Do you has Caramels? Daddy loves Caramels. " He found it and dunked the whole thing into it.
Irae continued to watch longingly, wanting interaction, but being unable to pull away from his security place. He finished his cookie, and decided to wander away from the other kids, going to go explore the graves. The names were unfamiliar with him. But.. He seemed so sad, the poor dead people.. He began to sing a soft song for the bodies that lied deep in the ground, sitting inbetween the grave stones.
Hunter peeked out from Kait's leg and noticed the food. With a squeal he looked up as if asking permission. She and Exile both nodded and he toddled off, climbing up and searching the table for where to start. Finding a cookie he did his best to shove it into his mouth whole, his tiny fangs holding it in place as he continued to access the table.
Truth be told Blaice was not entirely happy to be here or really happy to be there at all. It was one thing to celebrate a persons life at their passing, it was custom she knew, on some planets and in some cultures. This though seemed almost crude to the seraph, to drag innocent children into the resting place of the dead day to play? Were it not for the fact that she'd felt Iggy should socialize with more children that were sort of his kind the angel never would have brought him. As it was the blonde promised herself that if anything happened that she was truly uncomfortable they'd leave no matter how much Iggy might be enjoying himself.
Given her feelings on the whole subject Blaice had been reluctant to dress up, the woman had caved only when Iggy had looked at her miserably and asked why she didn't want to have any fun. She still wasn't really dressed up per say but she'd borrowed one of her fathers old military outfits and a fake sword from the prop room at CDL. A little makeup and she looked like a dirty, weary soldier or an angel of justice, both of which were a far cry from who she was normally.
Iggy practically skipped towards the cemetery, his pale skin glowing brightly in the darkness and his body surrounded by half a dozen shining souls as per usual. The will o the wisp boy had long since gotten used to their company and never really felt alone becuase he had them. Still seeing other kids like at home was always good too and the blue eyed boy was excited for this, had been since he'd seen the invitation. Perhaps he could play follow the leader with some of the other children, he'd run and they'd chase him and then...
There was an almost devious look on the face of the boy, who was currently dressed up as a little grim reaper, as he and his mother joined the rest of the invitees.
Beatrice and Evan had decided to not only dress up but to shape shift into their black panther forms and give the kids a real scare. With Amelia on Beatrice's back and Bridget on Evan's the two 'gangster panthers' padded their way to the gathering. Letting the twins off their backs they simply wandered around the area, occasionally giving a 'hello' or a 'oops, sorry, that was my tail' to the other guests.
Bridget was dressed as Alice from Alice in Wonderland and had quickly toddled off to the snack table to attempt at climbing it and to snatch some cookies for her and Amelia to share. This sort of worked for a little while until she took far too many cookies and couldn't get herself off of the table. Blinking twice she became frightened and started to cry.
"'Melia!!" She wailed.
Amelia was dressed as a green striped pirate and unfortunately for her sister; she was lost in her own little world yet again and could not hear Bridget's cries for help. She was following some sort of sound coming from the cemetery; it sounded like beautiful singing. She wondered if it was one of those lost ghosts she had been told about by her father, the ones that wandered the cemeteries in search of company and a person to help them find their way home. Now completely entranced by the sound of this voice she was determined to find its source. Slowly making her way through the tomb stones she spotted Irae sitting by himself and singing. Tilting her head to the side she got down on her hands and knees and crawled over to him. Once directly behind Irae she let out a soft purr and put a paw lightly on his shoulder.
"Yous sings pretty..." She whispered, practically hovering over him now because she was in such a deep state of trance by his voice.
Irae flinched a little when he was touched, definitely not expecting some one to talk to him. After all, he was in the middle of the graveyard, sitting on the grave of someone named "Fero", who had died when he was Irae's age. "Oh.. Um.. Thank you.." He murmured, not wanting to talk too loud, for fear of making Fero upset.
"I.. I sing for Fero.. Fero is in there.. I dink he's lonely.. So I sing to make him not so lonely.." He smiled up at her shyly. "Oh.. You pwetty Pirate.. I is Irae.. What is yous name?"
