The day had just come to an end. Bura had just watched the sun rise it seemed and now it was setting. Funny how days seemed to go by so fast when you really weren't doing anything. Bura's sister was away and probably out messing with some boy, though the jackal didn't want to believe that, she knew it was true.

Now she was on her own and it seemed that there was nothing to do around their small territory except maybe sun bath or hunt. Sigh. If her sister came back with one of her males she'd be sure to bite his balls off for such a lame a** day.

Maybe she could , you know, not be such a bore and get out there and live her life rather then control her sister. But Bura was just set in her ways. The poor old gal really needed her self a life.

It was around this time that the diety made his way down from the haven to mingle among the mortals. It was simply a habit slowly brought about by a brief meeting with a peculiar lioness. Not that he regretted it. She was always fun to hang around, albeit hard enough to catch in the nighttime. She blended in with the bluish-black background of the night sky on the rare occasion that she actually came out, else she'd be sleeping like most other mortals would be. Sometimes he'd catch her, sometimes he wouldn't. It mostly depended on his luck.

He'd actually come down a bit earlier that day, just before sunset, and waited around for a good while in the outskirts of her home pride. To his disappointment she didn't show, and with all the time left to spend (most likely on his own) he went off wandering on his own, denying the fact that he actually wanted someone else's company.

The jackal was just about to go back into her homey little hole when a strange far off shape caught her eye. The jackal had to squint to really see. At first, Bura thought perhaps it was her sister coming home, but the scent was off. Way off.

For one, it was not a smell of a female but a male. Automatically this had the jackal on all fours with her fur standing up, but as the shape grew closer, it was more apparent that the scent wasn't jackal.

What ever this was she'd never smelt a scent like it. The female crouched down in the grass and watched the shape. What the crap was it?

When it came to picking a spot to rest...well, at night there was really no point in being picky. There was no sun, which his only real issue with the daytime, so after another few minutes of walking he paused, glanced around, then proceeded to lie down. There was also no point in hiding his god-form since there was no one else in sight, and with a sigh the diety lifted his head and took another good look around.

"Plenty of time to kill," he muttered. "No need to lose it." With that he rolled over onto his back, starting to pick out the bits and pieces of constellations in the sky. His new favorite past-time, thanks to Xina. Meanwhile, he had yet to realize that he actually already found company.

Bura lifted her head out a little from the thick of the grass and just stared at the lion figure before her. He seemed to not have noticed her yet ... go- were those wings? Bura lifted a brow and crept closer being extra careful not to make a sound. She had heard of gods before but they had only been fairy tales.

Slowly she treaded, stopped, treaded, stopped. Yeah, the little jackal was scared of the big seemingly deity before her.

Finally when she was close enough to really get a good look , the little black jackal revealed her self.

"Don't you... not exsist? Are you .. a dream?" The female tilted her head at the god expectantly.

It wasn't a familiar voice that interrupted his little game, not that he minded. Before she finished off her last question Tarik had rolled back onto his stomach and glanced around, this time being extra careful in spotting who the voice belonged to. When his eyes landed on the jackal he tilted his head curiously - he'd never met a jackal before. At least not personally. He'd seen a few once before, hell he'd even hunted one down for someone who couldn't fend for themselves due to an injury. Still, he was grateful for the company.

Normally he would've found her questions offensive, but tonight seemed to be an exception. He was in a more forgiving mood, perhaps due to his being reminded on his friend while he stared at the heavens. "I don't think I'm a dream, so I guess I do exist?" he replied.

The jackal took a quick step back in the grass. She was a brave little thing, but the fact a god stood right before her was shocking. Her crimson eyes grew twice the size they normally were. Though, what kind of answer did she expect really.

"You are real then?" Bura's voice trembled a little. This had been stupid, god or not, approaching a lion usually was a stupid idea. But the god seemed friendly? Maybe.

"I-If you're here to curse this land then I'll have .. I'll have .. y-you know that you're gonna have t-to go through me," The jackal growled up at the god, "O-otherwise.. heh.. .. " Her tail was between her legs she was so scared.

Curse the land? Tarik grinned, almost amused, at the statement. "Oh, how very brave of you," he said while smiling. "But I'm not here to curse any land. Actually I think I'd be too lazy to actually do something like that, so you and whoever else lives here is in the clear." The diety laughed lightly, eyeing the little creature. She really was brave for trying to stand up to a god, of all things. Still, it wasn't very smart. If it was a god who really had planned on doing any sort of cursing, she would probably be the first thing on the list to get cursed.

"So, no worries right? I'm Tarik, you are?"

The jackal relaxed a bit, and it showed as her shoulders slacked and her fur puffed down. What good would it do a god to trick a jackal? She figured he was telling the truth. Bura opened her maw and closed it.

"Guess I pegged you wrong," She took a few paw steps forward making sure to keep her crimson eyes on his face and not on his wings. Staring was usually frowned upon.

"B-Bura's the name. I'm just but a small Jackal. An honor to meet you Tarik," She looked down at her paws a little lost at what to say. A god had found her worthy to talk to.

"WAIT!? You exsist!? What!? Why are you showing your self to me right now?" The jackal blinked. It just accured to her that this was a god.. again.

Tarik smiled, glad to see that she took his word for it as she seemed to relax herself. Sort of. After her introduction, as he was about to regard her with a nod, she raised her voice in surprise (again) and asked him one of the questions on list of commonly asked questions asked by mortals that he'd put together after all the rogues he'd encountered in his lifetime. Which was plenty, but not so much at the same time.

"There's really no reason," he replied, brows raised in slight amusement. "I was just hoping to get some rest, too lazy to disguise myself as a regular lion. This is a coincident that we're meeting Bura, I assure you."

Bura lowered her head some, "O-oh, " She looked up at the night sky and back at the god. There were so many questions she had buzzing around her small skull but just looking at the god she couldn't spit them out. He hadn't come here to answer them. Hell, Bura was sure she'd eat a mortal if she was a god for interrupting a peaceful evening.

"Mind if I join you then," Why she asked, the dog did not know. ".... If you don't mind."

Tarik shook his head and scooted over just a bit to give her a bit of room, then rolled onto his back and kept his eyes on the sky once again. "I don't mind," he answered, not really noticing if she'd taken up the spot beside him or not. "It's refreshing to run into a mortal who doesn't have any questions for me," he said after a few minutes. "Not that I mind the questions," he continued, not entirely sure whether she had any questions or not. "But usually they have at least one. I'm just surprised you haven't shown any sign of even wanting to ask a question."

He had a small smile on his maw, mostly because he had picked out a small constellation that he and Xina had come up with not too long ago. "You wouldn't be the only mortal I've met who hasn't asked me any questions though, now that I think about it."

The jackal took up the spot happily. Turning three times and laying down right beside the god being careful to give him his space. When he went on about her not asking questions, she felt a small tinge of guilt. She had questions, so the statement wasn't completely true.

"Ehh," she managed after listening, "I wouldn't call my self anything amazing for a mortal. I just figured you're tired so no use bombarding you with my silly little questions. " She gave him an awkward smile, "Sides I m sure I'd hate it if I got questions all the time."

Tarik shrugged at her words, not really sure how to answer without sounding overly...mean. "Eh, you could say I've gotten used to it," was all he could muster before clearing his throat and letting a bit of silence fall between them. "Ah, I may have spoken a bit too soon though. If you have any questions then by all means, shoot."

Meantime, while he waited for her answer, the god proceeded to pick out a few more star formations, picturing a few comical things every now and again. Somehow he couldn't help but keep that lioness in mind, which didn't really bother him. Quiet nights used to just pass, but now he actually had something to preoccupy himself with. He probably couldn't be more grateful for the silly game.

The jackal let out a little yawn and shook her head no.

"Nah, I'm to tired to think of them clearly now," The black jackal let out another small yawn and settled her head between her paws looking up at the god like a well trained dog. There wasn't much she could think of when her mind was slowly headed to sleep mode. The Jackal let out a big yawn and tiredly nuzzled her head between her paws once more.

"I think I'll just close my eyes for a moment," Her words were very far away even to her as she shut her eyes. Slowly the Jackal drifted off to the dream realm.

The diety glanced toward his company, nodding silently as she drifted off to sleep. He didn't mind in the least that she did though, since his mind was very clearly not in the present. Or at least, not in their conversation. It was elsewhere, which wasn't really surprising. He was finding it more and more hard to focus at night, what with all the twinkly distractions in the sky. With a sigh Tarik rolled over onto his stomach, deciding to follow after his new little friend. If he was lucky he'd actually manage to get some sleep. If not, well he knew a good game to play in order to pass the time.
