Alice bit her lip nervously, for this was her first appliqué for the university. “I hope this goes well.” She whispered straightening out her already pristinely pressed pencil skirt. Without realizing it she had put on a all black outfit for the occasion signifying her abilities to be dominant, sexy and strong. Her fingers tapped lightly on the leather-bound binder she had bought for the occasion, she had already opened it several times observing the application and the applicant’s name. Morpheus was up first, and she wasn’t sure exactly what she was doing. Almost as though through another person the female looked out into the Koi pond thinking of how Dhiren should have been there, at her right hand and calming her. Even as that was true Alice was fine on her own, but as always Alice would survive, going through her life almost as normal, but without her brilliant smile.
The fiery female stood and paced, her heels clicking on the pebbled cement making the only noise in the cool twilight. She was being patient waiting for someone she knew she was early for, and yet she couldn’t help but wish someone else would be doing this very thing… and not she. “Ok Morpheus where the hell are you?” she asked, watching the streams of color radiating off of the Koi next to her. “He is late in one minute.” Alice mumbled to the fist, closing her eyes with her back turned to the entrance to the area.

Morph dashed though the university grounds, rushing past a circular water fountain on his way to where he was told that the audition would be. Hissing under his breath, he cured himself for cutting things so late. Guitar rhythmically thumping against his back, Morph pushed his way through bushes, scattering leaves everywhere. Seeing the green houses, Morph slowed down to a swift walk, brushing leaves from his vest. His heart thumped in his chest, he under the fence surrounding the green houses and the koi pond. Morph moved though rows of potted plants, trying to calm his breathing and picking a leaf out of his long red hair. Rounding the corner, Morph’s eyes landed on Alice and he came to a stop, swallowing hard.
“Am, am I late?” He asked nervously, glancing down at her black clothing before looking back at her face. Swallowing again, Morph shifted his guitar case on his shoulder, waiting for whatever was in store for him to begin. He had sent in his application when he had heard the University territory had opened and what it was about. He liked the idea of a group of people that valued musical expression getting together and bettering themselves and their talents, but he wasn’t sure how he felt about someone making a judgment on his own talent. To him, his music was more than a skill, it was an expression of the soul, and it was something that came from the heart. Morph felt a little awkward having someone evaluate something that meant so much to him.

Alice turned impassively, trying her best to look cool and distant from the situation and her new found power. Not saying anything she looked the boy up and down from head to toe and hid a smile, he was just as she remembered him, just without the blush. The female said nothing as she went over to her bench and seated herself. “So you are Morpheus, I was curious as to what your name was.” She lifted her leather bound journal and wrote a few things down, summing up the other with her cooler eyes. After everything with Dhiren Alice’s eyes rarely if ever held warmth, and if they did it was only with certain people in a more intimate atmosphere, no one had yet to tell her of it, in case such a thing may hurt her.
“Have you something to play or are you going to stand there and try to impress me with your dulled expression?” Alice yawned, and leaned over so her head was resting in her hands. She was being a b***h, but it was deliberate, she needed to know how the cats she took charge over treated authority.
The female tried her best not to remember where she had met the boy… and under what circumstances. He had seen it all from the very beginning and knowing such made her slightly agitated. When she took the job as head mistress she basically signed with her soul that she would remain unbiased and judge on talent and stamina, no outside influence involved. She wanted the best and she would get it.
“Im sorry, I shouldn’t have said that so rudely, if y ou will though… I have three others to see after you…” Alice waved her hand to the other to have a seat anywhere and watched him intently.

Morph nodded, swallowing again. “I understand. I’m very sorry to keep you waiting.” He said politely. Taking a deep breath, he let it out slowly. Looking around, he sat down on a rock by the edge of the Koi pond. Taking out his guitar from its case, he slung it over his shoulder and took a guitar pick from out of a pocket on the front of his case. Morph didn’t usually play with a pick; in fact he rarely played with one at all. He had just recently been playing with one; experimenting with different styles and sounds. Pick between his fingers, he exhaled again. Morph was trying to get into his flow of playing music without actually playing. He knew he would have to start out strong if he wanted to impress Alice and be accepted by the University.
Ready to start, he tapped his heel against the ground a couple times then started to play, drumming on the side of his guitar to begin with. It was a fairly fast piece, the melody starting in strong after only a few cords. Within a minute of playing, Morph was already in the song, head bobbing slightly and heel tapping against the cement underneath his foot. Where before he had been watching his hands, making sure he was hitting the note right with the pick, now his eyes were closed and he was in the moment. Eyes still closed, he stuck the guitar pick in his mouth, holding it there between his lips and swiping his hands against his pants quickly to wipe off the light perspiration he began drumming against his guitar again; lightly with his fingers, hitting it with the palms of his hands and rapping with his knuckles. Then he abruptly stopped for a moment, counting out a measure in his head, guitar pick back in hand and poised over the strings.
Then he was off again; playing as spiritedly as before, his fingers moving up and down the neck of his guitar and pick flicking across the strings. He built the song up, moving faster, in and out of the melody, bringing it to a crescendo and finishing with a flourish. He sat for a beat then let his breath out quietly, setting down the guitar pick on the body of the guitar and stretching out his fingers. Only then did he look back up at Alice, quietly waiting for her response. He had certainly started out strong, as he wanted to, and he wondered where things would go from here.

Alice lifted a hand to brush away her hair while starting intently at the guitar as he plucked away his melody. After he finished the hand that had a pen poised over her notepad. Her face contorted into a thoughtful position before a smirk lit in her eyes, but not on her lips. Gently the Somali set down the pen. “Morpheus… do you do anything other then play the guitar?”
She couldn’t contain the smirk now, it seemed to radiate off of her. He played fine, but that wasn’t enough to get into the territory in her opinion. “I want you to sing for me Morph, I’m afraid I never heard you at the bar.” Alice tapped the pen against her palm looking him over and grinning. She knew he would. He had to in order to get in. She wanted someone that was willing to learn, that much was clear.

Morph tilted his head to the side, a little bemused at Alice’s smirk. It was true that Alice had left before he had snuck in his random song, but decided to stay away from the topic of what had happened that night. Straightening up, he nodded politely, setting his guitar aside. He cleared his throat, casting around in his head for a song to sing that would be appropriate. He decided on a softer song; not a love song, since he didn’t want to upset Alice. Taking a calming breath, he closed his eyes, singing from memory.“The earth is warm next to my ear Insect noise is all that I hear A magic trick makes the world disappear The skies are dark, they're dark but they're clear
A distant motorcade and suddenly there's joy The snow and ticker tape blurs all my senses numb It's like the finish line where everything just ends The crack of radios seems close enough to touch
Cold water, cleaning my wounds A sad parade, with a single balloon I'm done with this, I'm counting to ten Bluest seas, running to them
I feel like I am watching everything from space And in a minute I'll hear my name and I'll wake I think the finish line's a good place we could start Take a deep breath, take in all that you could want”As he sung, the same feelings of being lost in the music came over him just the same as when he played his guitar. Moving though the song, his fingers twitched slightly in his lap, picking strings that weren't there. Even singing, his body wanted to play the guitar. He smiled slightly, coming to the end of the song. Eyes still closed, he hummed the melody for a few bars before drifting off to a calm silence. Opening his eyes again, he looked across to Alice, waiting for her to speak.

Alice tapped the pen on her chin and blinked a few times before realizing that the song was over. It was pretty, and he had a nice voice. Some of the notes though... His voice didn't go that low without practice.
"Have you ever taken any classes Morph? Have you ever tried to seek training for your passions?" Obviously that was one of the reasons he was here, but he was Nyx's brother. She had snuck away against her parents will to learn her art, what had this boy done if anything? Alice couldn't deny him, that much was obvious. She cared about his mate and sister enough not to let him go because she felt a bit vindictive.
"its mere curiosity, your answer wont deter my final word." No not much did... but she had to do this process, for the sake of being fair.
