At the edge of town, a brightly-painted wagon sits next to a small pumpkin patch. Mama Paretta, the resident gypsy, lives here. The place is always cheerily lit, and the woman who inhabits it always has tea hot and ready.
She's a fair hand at tarot cards if you wish your fortune read, but what she's really gifted at is potions. She's always in need of components, so if you talk to her she'll probably send you out for some. In return, she'll give you a few couplets.
((Mama Paretta's favors are only open to characters with 50 couplets or less.))

Veshengo grumbled as Balormengro wobbled it's way down the path. Finally growing fed up with the damage, he pulled the wagon over by a pumpkin patch and jumped down to inspect the damage. Brushing some stray hairs from his face, he bent down, leaning an arm against the wagon as he looked under to check the axle. "Solid...not much damage there, luckily...Just a new wheel, I suppose..." Glancing down the towns main stretch, he spotted a wooden sign with a broken wheel on it. His glad face soon faded, realizing that he was dead broke and had no way to pay for the repairs. "God, I could use a drink...or some couplets...or both, preferably." He kicked the side of Balormengro, then turned and leaned his back against it.
His eyes trailed along until they spotted a bright wagon. His face regained a glad expression, realizing that perhaps a fellow gypsy could help him out. Striding over, he hoped up a few steps and knocked on the door, "Hello?"

Tsura was not too far behind her fellow gypsy though the dark haired woman walked instead of rode. Her wagon was far too heavily damaged to go anywhere at the moment. She'd left it and her oxen with the rest of the caravan where they were camped for the time being. Gisli guarded it as much as a Banya could, although Tsura imagined the little feathery glutton had stayed behind so she could eat while no one watched her
Berit though walked along beside her, an odd sight to be sure, woman and quail. Upon spotting the pumpkin patch and the colourful wagon Tsura smiled, more so when she recognized Veshengo on it's steps. Gypsy kind really did gather together no matter what, she thought as she walked closer.

"Come in, come in!" exclaims the cheerful voice from inside. Upon entering, Veshengo and Tsura's eyes are bombarded by the garish decorations the woman had chosen. The entire interior is a hodgepodge of colors, patterns, and fabrics, all bright and busy.
The portly gypsy appears and smiles a giant smile. "Welcome, welcome! You are gypsies yourselves, no? I am Natasha Elvira Peretta, ah, but these names are names of my youth, no? You must call me Mama. Sit down, sit down!" she exclaims, ushering the two to sit on a plush sofa. She herself eases her considerable girth into a winged armchair.
"It has been so long since I've seen gypsies here!" she gushes. "Tell me of your travels!"

"Ay, Mama, we're gypsies...The name is Veshengo" He gave her a warm smile and settled into the sofa, "We just got into town...after crossing that hellish river..." He glanced at Tsura sympathetically, "Neither of us had good luck, I'm sad to say...Although, poor Tsura here had it worse off then me."

Baptiste had caught up to Tamlin as she was was checking the wagon over for any signs of water damage. Surprisingly there were none. If only the last time had gone this well Tamlin thought wryly as she passed off the reins to her traveling partner. "I'm off to find a drink, that water was cold and swimming hard work." She grinned at him, "Besides, I deserve a reward for getting the wagon over so magnificently". She kept the trinket she had discovered to herself. "Come on and find me once the horses are fed and taken care of. Give 'em an extra carrot for me, they did a good job getting our home across." She gave him a salute and winked, leaving him alone to tend to the wagon.
"Alais, lets go explore and find ourselves a treat!" She grabbed the little, striped fur ball in her arms with exuberance and sped off towards the town.
Alais, not amused, hung from the woman's arms with her ears pressed back while her long striped tail flitted back and forth in agitation. Calmed into staying put just enough by the temptation of a treat. She satisfied herself by churring angrily up at her momentary captor.
Tamlin spied a group of her fellows heading towards a little house off at the edge of town. "Looks like a good enough place to start". She got to the open doorway just after an elderly gypsy had ushered in the original group. The man who had addressed the owner of the little house was familiar to Tamlin, although she knew little more then his name. The other woman was one of those who had recently joined the caravan. Tamlin smiled at her as she stepped through the doorway.

She'd been about to speak to Veshengo and Tsura when the red-haired girl and her pet had walked in. "I do love when caravans come to town! Sit down, sit down, love. I'll talk with you in a moment." Her eyes light on Alais and she smiles a knowing smile. "Si, si, I'll talk with you in a moment."((Gonna wait until Veshie and Tsura leave. ^^))

"I'd wager my own nose that the two of you need some extra coin to go over and see Penny, eh?" She nods knowingly. "Well, my dears, you've certainly done right by coming to see me. It just so happens that I'm two components short of this potion I'm brewing. You didn't know I was a potions gypsy? Ah..." she laughs softly. "Mama Peretta makes the finest potions and tonics this side of the Biktaa River! But they come at a price, oh yes, and so I could see my way into giving you each...oh....30 couplets if you'd bring me back these things I need. What do you say?

"That sounds very generous and I'd be more than happy to fetch whatever you need." Tsura smiled over at veshengo, perhaps whatever was needed they could get together and then head out to get their wagons fixed at the same time. It'd be nice to have a chance to talk while on their task at the very least. " That river is a general hazard but then again it's been around a lot longer than we have.. She shivered a little wondering how many had not been as lucky as them or the man they had saved ear earlier.
Berit cocked her head to the side and stared at all the colours and things inside. Some of it looked very soft and comfy.
"Pardon my manners mama I'm Tsura kircher and this is Berit" the gypsy woman introduced herself, though Veshengo had already stated her name.

"Very good, very good," says Mama Peretta. "It's fine to meet you, Tsura, and your companion as well. Would she like a bit of apple? There's plenty around." She gets up and slices an apple on a small plate, then offers one of the thinner slices to Berit. "She's a beauty, she is." Then, as if remembering, she shakes her head. "Yes, yes, to business!" she exclaims. "What I'd like from you is a rotten apple. It sounds easy, yes, but it's only the beginning of the season, so many of the apples will still be on the tree, and any that have fallen and rotted will have likely been eaten by birds. But I need it desperately for this potion I'm making. So off you go!" She says, making a pleasant-hearted shooing motion.

"I think I could manage that...we can do it together, Tsura, if you like." Veshengo stood up and reached out to shake Mama's hand, "Thank you very much...We'll return as soon as we can..." He smiled and then extended his elbow, for Tsura to latch onto.

He smiled and then extended his elbow, for Tsura to latch onto. "Oh, tish-tosh. It's an easy enough task for a young woman. She'll be fine on her own. Plus, I've got something different for you." She draws closer. "Yes, yes. You'll need to find Ziva--I don't know where she is, but she deals in..er, botanicals. Take these coins and buy a vial of pepper oil from her, and bring it back straight away. If she gives you trouble, you tell her it's for me, yes."

((I'm going to assume for this post that Veshengo and Tsura have already left so that I can get this post off for Tamlin.))
After the other two had already left, Mama Peretta turns her attention to Tamlin. "I hope you didn't think I'd forgotten you. No, no, Mama Peretta never forgets anyone. Sit down, dear, sit down," she says, nevermind that she'd already ushered Tamlin into a chair. "Now, my art might be potions, but I'm a fair hand at the cards and just yesterday they told me that I'd have a special visitor and, by the moon, I believe it's you, love. Tell me, why do you carry around a creature of the forest? A wild animal as if she were a pet?"

Tsura had hoped not to have to spend her time alone but it wasn't meant to be. Veshngo had their own task to compete so it would just be her and Berit, who would hopefully not eat the rotten apple now that she'd had some of a fresh one. Leaving her fellow Gyspy to find whoever it was he was looking for, the dark haired young woman clutched Berit to her chest and headed off in search of an apple orchard. Mama had been right, this shouldn't be too too hard.

Tamlin was completely charmed by this flighty old lady; no nonsense and too the point. Traits that often come with being to old to dance around formality anymore. She smiled warmly and responded with a laugh. "Well Alais certainly isn't my pet, I think she believes it to be the opposite. Awhile back she just appeared and smuggled away some of my beading. Not quite sure where she came from but she hasn't left me alone since." Tamlin ruffled up the fur between Alais' ears "In fact, it would be quite lonely and a right bit colder coming into winter now without her."
