Welcome to Bonaventure Cemetary. The most Eclectic version of a final resting place you will ever find. Modern moseleums and hundred-year-old gravestones mix together under towering willows and spanish moss. This place is the final resting place of Confederate soldiers and Yankee's alike, souls still battling it out over the Slaves they owned or fought for the freedom of. This place is the final resting place of those slaves, of their white masters. This is the place where diplomats and poverty striken families merge in the afterlife. Ghosts walk the earth here, bound by unfinished buisness or just confused as to how to cross over.

They are protected and sheltered by the Guardians of the gates. The statues sewn into stone. Concrete angels, beautiful marble markers in the shape of anyone any artist ever imagined. Each and every one houses the soul of a guardian angel in the shape of their marker. These are their stories.

The Soul-Eaters are the bane of the spirits trapped on Earth. For every good soul there is a bad, and sadly enough, the bad are very strong. Some ghosts are spitefull of the living, you would call them polterguists, we call them Soul-Eaters. They swallow a ghost bit by bit untill it is gone, it gives them substantiability, power, but their only enemy is the guardian, and so the Ghosts at Boneventure have yet to subcome to their evil.

~The Weeping Mother~

-The Eternaly Damned-

They Call Me ~Mother Ana~
I've Been On Earth for ~Too Many~ Years
No One's Ever Asked ~Straight~
Why Should it Matter? ~
Likes- Quiet days, children, flowers, and rain.
Dislikes- Fire, Gruesome Deaths, and pain.~
This is The Rock of Life ~
User Image
This is my Life ~Anabell has been in Bonaventure cemetary since it first opened during the Civil War. Most of Georgia knows her as the weeping mother, a statue made to represent the mothers of all the lost children during the yellow fever epidemic. She protects anyone under the age of adulthood and people have been known to leave offerings at the statues feet for painless childbirths or if they think their child might soon die. She is, afterall, the picture of sorrow. Other than that, Ana has always had a sophisticated sense of humor, and happily spends her days watching over the cemetary in stone, and her nights as a spirit, keeping any ghost children company.~

~Our Sibling in Stone~

-Sam- Knight of Darkness-

They Call Me ~Amelia Roberts~
I've Been On Earth for ~Very Many~ Years
No One's Ever Asked ~Bisexual~
Why Should it Matter? ~
Likes••• People, animals, rain and thunder, picturesque scenery, seeing people smile
Dislikes••• Solitude, seeing people unhappy, vandalism, seeing people hurt, troublemakers~
This is The Rock of Life ~
User Image
This is my Life ~Amelia was created and placed inside the Bonaventure Cemetery a few months after it opened. Amelia is the symbol of sibling-hood, where all citizens visited her to pray for their siblings, mainly sisters or brothers suffering from an illness. Many still came to pray for their siblings who either didn't survive the fighting in the Civil War, or didn't make it through an illness of sorts. Amelia has a love for siblings and never likes it when siblings don't get along, or when one loses their sibling. Despite her weak point for siblings, she cares for everyone, especially the spirits roaming the cemetery.~

~Our Ailing Brother~

-Sam- Knight of Darkness-

They Call Me ~Nathaniel Lyte~
I've Been On Earth for ~An Unknown Amount Of~ Years
No One's Ever Asked ~Heterosexual~
Why Should it Matter? ~
Likes••• Snow, the night, music, people, tranquility
Dislikes••• When the sun is too bright, chaos, vandalism, depression, idiots~
This is The Rock of Life ~

This is my Life ~Nate was created around the same time the grave of Jonathon Smith had moved into the Bonaventure cemetery, and his statue was placed above the boy's gravestone when the grave was moved there. He doesn't seem to mind watching over the boy's grave during the day as a statue, and he resembles a man dying of an illness, leaning over an object-- in this case, a grave, while clinging for his life. It represents those strong young men who died of wounds or an illness of sorts, and could have lived on for a wonderous future. Though, unlike Mother Ana, the only gifts left in front of him are the flowers left for Jonathon, though flowers like those are entirely rare, seeing as the boy's family are all dead anyways. At night, Nate roams the cemetery, keeping the lonely spirits company. He seems to also consider Jonathon as a younger brother.~

~A Forgotten Child~
-The Eternaly Damned-

My Marker Reads ~Natalie Baker~
My Marker Dates ~1857-1863, 7 years of age~
No One Remembers ~Boys are Icky... Cause I'm only Seven, duh.~
No One Cares ~
Likes- Toys, Mother Ana, Flowers, and Singing.
Dislikes- Boring stuff, Icky Smells, and Toads.
This is how I will Look for Eternity
User Image
This is what I left Behind ~Natalie was a young girl during the Civil war, she, of course, didn't even understand why her father and older brother James had to leave and go off and fight. She lived on a plantation that her father was the foreman of, and even though her mother told her not to she played with all the colored children there. She found it odd that one day she felt too sick to get out of bed and play with Tammy, one of her closest friends. Apparently Yellow Fever took her life, and she was burried under the Weeping Mother at Bonaventure Cemetary. There's plenty of tree's to climb, and she doesn't really have a sense of time anymore, so it's really all fun and games with Mother Ana and everyone else. ~

~A Beaten Soldier~
-The Eternaly Damned-

My Marker Reads ~James Baker~
My Marker Dates ~1856-1864, 19 years of age~
No One Remembers ~Straight~
No One Cares ~ http://i619.photobucket.com/albums/tt275/mzampini1/5thTexasSoldier.jpg
Likes: Cherries, Natalie, foggy days.
Dislikes: Guns, Cannons, The military Uniform he's stuck in.
This is how I will Look for Eternity
(Appearance, pic please, nothing too gruesome)
This is what I left Behind ~James Baker was the eldest child in a family with five children, the other four being girls. Most of the girls were already grown and married off, in fact that would be three of the four, and so his only qualm about leaving home to join the Confederate army during the civil war was that he would have to leave his mother and his youngest sister, Natalie, alone to fend for themselves. Afterall, his father would be going with him. So, when he finally did leave home it didn't take long for him to find out, by letter, that his youngest sister had died of yellow fever, and that his mother had grown ill. the ews haunted him, and almost a year later he was shot o the battle feild and sent home for burial. You can find him at Bonaventure, just a few markers away from his younger sister, whom he stayed behind for.~

~Our Lost Lady~
-Einnor829-

My Marker Reads ~Kate Firestorm~
My Marker Dates ~August 29, 1524-Febuary 5, 1541. 17 years old.~
No One Remembers ~Pansexual~
No One Cares ~
Likes - Reading, Listening to the Living People, Dancing, Playing with Living Children that pass by
Dislikes - People who deface graves, Being so far from home, Being Dead and unable to live again, Being yelled at by Mother Ana
This is how I will Look for Eternity
User Image
This is what I left Behind ~Kate lived with a rich family back in England in the 1500's. She would help out with children and teach her siblings how to read in her free time. She began getting sick shortly after she turned 17 with a horrible cough and occasional fever. No one noticed that she had a rash until it was too late to treat her. When she died of measles, they were heartbroken. During the Cival War, her descendants had her remains brought over to be closer, because she was the only familiy they could find and they wanted her closer. She had layed dormant for 300 years, content with where she was.
When she finally awoke, in a strange place and a strange time, she began exploing the cemetary. She would listen to people talking around her and began learning the language of the times, though she still sometimes.
She doesn't speak much with the others, but tries to find time to visit Mother Ana and the ghost girl Natalie Baker. ~

~Frozen Brother~
-Sam-Knight Of Darkness-

My Marker Reads ~Jonathon Smith~
My Marker Dates ~April 21, 1589 - December 17, 1608. 19 years old.~
No One Remembers ~Biexual~
No One Cares ~
Likes••• Music, reading, exploring, snow [even though it caused his death], the night, tea, meat
Dislikes••• Vandalism, sun, solitude, being bored, having nobody to talk to~
This is how I will Look for Eternity

This is what I left Behind ~Jonathon was born in the Roanoke Colony in Virginia, which was the first English settlement in the New World, or America. However, about a year after his birth he was taken elsewhere. When Roanoke Colony had been found by other travelers, it had been deserted. His family still remained in Virginia, traveling all throughout Virginia in search for a place to stay, and in 1607 he remained in the Jamestown Settlement in Virginia when it was founded-- Jonathon was eighteen at the time. He worked hard with the other men to keep the settlement strong. However, during the winter of 1608 Jonathon went out into the woods in search of some animal that hadn't hibernated, so they could eat something. They were suffering from a food shortage. Jonathon suffered from hypothermia during his hunt and collapsed in the snow. Bringing up the rear of the group of hunters, nobody had noticed Jonathon collapse and he had been left there to die. It was when the hunters returned when they found the boy dead, and they brought him back to the colony and buried him in the cemetery nearby. Hundreds of years later during the Civil War, all of the graves in the old cemetery in Virginia were moved to the Bonaventure Cemetery. After he was moved there, Jon arose as a spirit and roamed the cemetery, acquainting himself with the other spirits and such.~

This is Why I am What I am ~Death, being the entity that erases all existence of a human, has left Rin with no memory of her former life. Lost, and wandering, Rin found no comfort in the other lost souls that performed the same routes and wails day in and day out and found no information from anyone regarding "the other side". Tired of not knowing where she was going or why she was still on earth, Rin found herself hating the other spirits that so easily gave in to living on the earthly realm of existence. Rin was promised more! Distraught at being trapped with no answers, Rin discovered that through her rather chaotic brand of emotions, she separated herself from other spirits. Rin learned that she could push them away, forcefully, interact and communicate with humans and spirits alike or simply bend the fabric of the human brain to do her bidding. Having become a rather wayward spirit herself, it was only when she was approached by a strange entity named Aatu, did Rin discover her real purpose. In exchange for feeding the strange entity souls, she was promised redemption and salvation, for only by removing the souls deemed impure could the doors to Heaven open.

As time passed, Rin felt no need for her chaotic emotions, and formed a bond with Aatu that allows her to perform rather powerful maneuvers through the entity's and her own abilities; however, the pair share damages, meaning when one is harmed the other experiences the same sensation. The pair also share fatigue, yet correlate heightened sight, sound, and smell, making Rin feel more alive than dead. ~

Bonaventure Cemetary sits at the crosshairs of a major river and the town it supplies daily with boats and sailors. Because of this, the setting sun was bright orange as it reflected off the water, bathing Cypress trees low-hanging with spanish moss in bright light as the last of the day wore off. Gravestones threw shadows across grass and onto the side of mosaleums and their marble pillars, the gates closed, wrought iron claging together as the groundskeeper left for the night, and finally... Silence.

In that one moment, the one second between twilight and night time, the unthinkable occurs. A statue moves, as if by it's own choice, and then the stone shakes in earnest. One moment later, it is still, but free. Mother Ana, The Weeping Mother of Bonaventure Cemetary, stands at the statues side. A perfect copy, because she is the statue, except more spirit than stone. She breaths a sigh, her face pale in the moonlight that escapes from the horizon, and then smiles.

Somewhere behind the guardian, a small child laughs. A boquet of flowers at the foot of the statue moves as if the wind has just brushed it, except there is no movement of the trees, nothing to say it was the wind. Because it was not.

"Natalie... Why are you hiding child?" Ana shifts her head, as if searching behind the stone, and is imediatly assualted by a flurry of daisy petals. She reaches down and catches something invisable around the waist, and even more laughing ensues. The mother smiles, placated, as a child, transparent as the moonlight on the grass, appears in her hands.

"You caught me!" More giggles, from the ghost girl in the statue spirits hands who holds one un-destroyed flower, and more smiles. "You always do, you must cheat!"

"I would never cheat... I've just gotten very good at your games..."

Kate Firestorm

The Lost Lady

I remember a simpler time, when horses and carriges brought people around, where castles once stood and people were happy.....

Far at the edge of Bonaventure Cemetary, late at night, there was said to be a lady dressed in all white who would stand by the gate and watch people pass with a sigh.
Every once in a while, some people would swear they'd seen her cry.
The woman was named Kate FIrestorm. She was the late daughter of an old Lord from the 1500's.
And right now she was sitting on her grave trying to pull all the weeds out of the ground.
"I swear, that Gardener never does his job. You wouldn't think it was hard to pull weeds now and then!" The Ghost Girl hissed.
She was the forever embodiment of her 17-year-old self.
And, like most teenagers, no matter the time, she hated having to do work that others should have done.
Kate sighed and stood up. She could hear the sounds of the ghost girl Natalie and their guardian Ana laughing together. Kate sighed, a sad and bothered look on her face.
She was always plagued by painful memories. Of better times.
She sighed once more before walking, or floating, depending on who was looking, to them.
"Good Evening, Ladies. How are thou?"
As good at speaking the English of the time, sometimes things would slip out.

......Now Cars drive by my Cemetery, People argue and fight. What happened to those times that I wish for late at night?

Beings Of Stone, Hold Yourselves High, Protect The Remnants....

Mother Ana turned her head at the sound of Kate's voice, the eldest of the Ghosts she protected, at least in visable age, seemed down. "And a Good Evening to you as well, Kate."

Natalie, at the appearance of the other ghost, had dissapeared again. Her game of hide and seek, at least in her eyes, had now become even more fun. "Kate do come play with me! I found a new flower by the river, and James just won't come and see it with me! He's a horrible older brother!" The little girl slipped out of her guardians hands and skipped past both people standig there. Even as a ghost she had a habit of holding onto everything around her that lived. Several years ago when a stray dog came to live in the cemetary she followed it around non-stop, untill finally it went away one night, probably to a place where it could find food. Currently, her fasinations were centered on the flowers by the river.

Jonathon Smith stretched and stood. He most certainly did enjoy his nap, but now that he was actually able to roam without being seen by those naive humans-- even though Jon himself had once been among them-- it was nice to hang around with the other spirits. Before his death, Jonathon imagined death differently. He thought he would simply go to heaven or hell; he never thought he would be stuck as a spirit. But... this was nice, if he actually stopped to think about it. Despite being dead and all, that is. He would have much rather been alive, but either way he would most certainly be dead by now-- surviving the hypothermia would not have mattered in the least. However, Jon liked the idea of talking to new people, especially people that existed in different time periods. It always interested him, learning about other people from other places or time periods, even though Jon had never really spoken to one before.

For now, Jonathon stood leaning against a cypress tree, watching as Mother Ana and Natalie played together, as well as watching Kate approach them. He sort of enjoyed the... family setting of sorts that was being displayed in the cemetery. He decided, this place wasn't so bad after all...

•••σuя sıвℓıηg ıη sтσηε•••

Amelia's spirit rose from her statue, and she immediately looked around the cemetery, seeing Natalie playing with Mother Ana as always, while Kate was about to greet them. After a brief wave of greeting in their direction, Amelia smiled softly, and began to walk around. She wanted to observe the cemetery, and make sure no troublesome kids wrote all over anyone's grave. It sort of peeved her a little. Sure, they were kids. That was the only reason why Amelia never lashed out. However, these kids should know something about respect. Vandalizing a grave was NOT a sign of respect. No sir, that was far from it!

After a brief sweep of the cemetery, Amelia was pleased to see that no graves had been messed with today. Now all that was left to do was watch over the spirits and see to it that everyone was getting along. Amelia turned her gaze toward the barren roads and sighed. She had never been outside of the cemetery, and she wondered what it would be like to roam the town. Amelia wondered what it looked like. Was it a dreary place, or was it as lovely as the cemetery itself? Amelia wished she knew.

Nathaniel took a step forward to be at Jonathon's side, as he scanned over the area with satisfaction. "A lovely night, is it not?" he asked the boy he considered to be his brother with a small, contented smile. He listened as Jon responded, "Indeed. If only nights like these could last forever..." Nate couldn't help but agree. However, there were SOME perks for the existence of day time. "I would agree. But, we must give the humans some time to roam and play. If they came out at night, they would see us. I am sure that would not bode well in the end." He smirked as Jon sighed softly. "Besides, I personally think a long nap each day will do each of you youngsters some good." The two exchanged brief laughter, and Nate began to continue roaming around, before calling back to the spirit, "Behave." He grinned again as he saw Jon roll his eyes, before continuing forward. Like he did every night, Nathaniel approached Mother Ana and the other two girls to greet them. "Good evening, Mother Ana, Natalie, and Kate. I hope you are all doing well." Nate smiled politely. He was always polite and courteous-- that's just who he was. Nate enjoyed seeing people happy, and obviously being rude would not make people smile.

Atop a nearby building, two pale figures sat quietly in obsevation. One, was a massive and threatening creature; even as the wolf-like entity laid on its stomach, its stare could pierce through one's defenses. Each exhale that left the massive hound's maw rumbled lightly in a growl in irritation. Even as the second figure laid a gentle hand on its head, the creature seemed rather unhappy with its position. The figure, who now gently ran her hand across the beast's head, kept her eyes locked to the figures below.

"Hungry... Rin..." A low voice rumbled as the creature's silver eyes suddenly cast over to the woman beside it, obviously impatient with something. Rin, the second figure was called, lifted her hand from the beast's head as she lightly leaned forward. Resting her arms on her legs, Rin continued to size up the Guardian that played with a small, ghost child down below.

"There's a child, Aatu..."

"The others are not, and the demon stone is corrupting the small spirit."

Guardians, or Demon stones as Aatu referred them as, always made Rin a little nervous to be doing what she thought was right. "For the good of all souls" held more of a meaning in death than it ever did in life. Rin firmly believed that Aatu could smell when a soul was tainted, and even if her own soul was far from perfect, she would be rewarded for allowing the waiting, resting souls of the earth freedom from their binds. Those souls that walked the earthly planes were corrupt, risen early only to be eliminated by entities like herself. Only when this realm was clean, would the next open up and allow those waiting to finally receive paradise.

Sensing Rin's wariness, the large beast shifted to sit up. The creature was easily taller than her, even on four legs, standing about the size of a horse under normal circumstances.

"You forget, that those are demons, child." Aatu spoke as he turned his massive head towards the graveyard, growling lightly.

"It's easy to forget, when they look and act like angels..." Rin reasoned, but silenced as a small pain rose in her chest, lightly pushing the ghostly breath from her presence. In an instant, her questions and doubts faded, replaced by a resolve that glimmered in her own silver eyes. Her and Aatu's stare were the same as the pair shifted to their feet. They would wait a little longer, see how the guardian behaved, before making a strike.

"They are keeping millions of souls bound to this realm, they must be annihilated."

"For the good of all souls."

Rin, feeling hardly any compassion for what one might consider "brethren", the woman fully intended to let Aatu tear each soul apart. For the long, long years she had spent wandering, no soul had shown her kindness or had given her answers. Those that were kind, vanished, and Rin felt constantly alone. Only Aatu remained with her for so long, provided some explanation and an opportunity for freedom. All those she had considered friends had somehow moved on, and there she was, stuck like the millions still buried under the ground. Only once Aatu explained that it was because of unpure beings like herself, did those trapped souls remain under their tombstones, did Rin decide to do something about it. With no one else to trust but the strange, powerful entity at her side, Rin fully believed what she was doing was good.

Yet, more and more of her own reasoning seemed to be lost, Aatu was always right, always correct in his analysis. Rin would not question such a strange being's word, not when it was the only thing to show Rin compassion in years; yet it was hard to swallow sometimes, when seemingly innocent spirits were somehow corrupt.

"Your own memory was lost at your death. What they are now, does not change what they were while they were living. I can smell the foul stench they emit, I can see the fabricated walls of their existence. Their stories are lies, and the demon stone is protecting those lies."
Aatu finalized the arguement, having sensed even more doubt floating around Rin's aura. Of course, with another wave of pain, Rin winced and let such weak thoughts drift from her mind. The woman had a job to do, and she would do it when the time was right.

Kate Firestorm

The Lost Lady

I remember a simpler time, when horses and carriges brought people around, where castles once stood and people were happy.....

Kate sighed and let out a small chuckle. "Alright, child. I shall go see this flower that entertains you so. And do not be so unkind to Sir James. He doth have free will, young one." she took the girl's hand and began walking.
She stopped long enough to bow to Nathanial. "Good Evening, Good Sir. I trust you are well." she said.
She said that everyday to everyone. That was how she had been raised. She continued to go with Natalie, stopping only once more to look around.
"I am getting that feeling of being followed by eyes I can not see." she whispered, but continued to walk.
