User ImageHe'd finally snuck away from his father, no thanks to the parrot on his back. Stupid Acid, he thought bitterly, glancing back at the bird. Acid had alarmed his father once too many times in the past that they were going out. He had to teach the stupid bird just when to shut up and when to squawk. Still, the bird had been with him for as long as he could remember. Which... wasn't that long, now that he thought about it.

Sneaking around a bend in the river, Hazmat found his favorite area in the whole jungle that he'd seen. A little rock waterfall that didn't get to fast, wasn't too deep, and still had some fish in it. The hybrid sat down on his haunches when he'd gotten to the water and stared at his reflection. More than once he got picked on for being so weird looking. He had horns like a demon, but wings like his mother. "Ugh! Why'd they'd got to go and hook up. Now me and my sibs are all ....stupid looking!" It seemed this boy's favorite word, at the moment, was stupid.

Green eyes flashed as a fish jumped out of the water, splashing him in the face. It annoyed him even further! Jumping onto one of the rocks, he swiped a paw in the water in an attempt to get the fish who made him soggy, only to lose balance and land in the little waterfall himself. Growling in frustration, the male stood up and shook himself off before ruffling his heavy, damp wings. "WHY? WHY ME?"

Kifu'Ini's small frame blended in quite nicely to the shadows of the undergrowth. Her bright brown eyes nearly glowing in the shadows. Her small paws barely making a sound on the well used path that she was currently traveling. The woods on either side of the path were silent. It had been some time since she had heard the sound of a bird or another B'alam.

Her ears twitched as a shout reached them. Peaking her curiousity, Kifu paused. Her tail flicking as she debated investigating. Giving into her initial pang of curiosity, Kifu left the path.

Moving quietly through the jungle, she soon came upon a small waterfall...and another B'alam. Here she paused, peering out from the underbrush at the male in front of him.

Of course the green eyed male didn't pay any attention to the underbrush because he was to busy fussing at his parrot who was cackling at him. His paw came out and he knocked the bird off the rock it was perched on and growled. "Acid, you useless thing!" Of course, blame everyone but himself for this mess. Clearly, it wasn't his fault he was now dripping wet.

Situating himself on a dry patch of grass, the boy began to groom his wings, wanting them good and dry first. That way, he wouldn't feel as though he weighed a ton.

Kifu's eyes narrowed slightly as the male knocked the parrot. Frowning, she proceeded to watch him groom himself. What gave him the right to hit others? From her observations, this male was just like him. And anyone who was like him, needed to be taught a lesson.

With a soft growl to herself, Kifu stalked towards the male. Her brown eyes swirling with the righteous anger that filled her veins. "Oi what gives you the right to hit that parrot?" Her tone was cold.

He was startled at a loud female voice and gave a very unmanly squeak as he turned around to spot the creepy female. Blinking his lime green eyes, Hazmat studied her a bit more before grinning. "'cause she's my parrot and he started it! We always play like that. He likes to chew on my ears! See the chips in them? SHE DID IT." He nodded and tried to shake his wings dry again, but only ended up hurting his shoulder muscles. With a whine, the boy sat back down and watched as Acid walked over to him.

It seemed she forgave him despite what she'd gone through. And she showed that by flapping and biting Hazmat right on the nose before landing on his head and starting to bite at his ears. "ACID!"

The anger faded slightly from Kifu's eyes. However it did not disappear completely. She didn't fully believe Hazmat. She continued to eye him, her frame remaining still.

However she remained silent. Instead opting to stare unblinking at him. Males lied a lot, that's what she knew from experience. It seemed it would take a lot for her to forgive Hazmat.

With a twitch of her tail, Kifu settled lightly onto her hunches. Ruffling her useless wings. The opening in her ribcage now in full view. It was an odd wound, it always remained torn open and had yet to heal in the slightest. Much like her heart.

"EW GROSS. What the hell?" He said, noticing her rib cage and gagging a bit. That was the sickest thing he'd ever seen. It made him want to poke it and see what was in it; if this female thing had a heart. Tilting his head to the side, Acid shifted to the ground and moved closer to the female, holding up her wings to help conceal the wound from Hazmat. As if telling him that was ruid and to not do that ever again.

"Sorry, sorry..."

The male's shout made Kifu'Ini's gaze dropped to the ground. Where it remained for a swift moment. It seemed this male was just like all the others. That moment of indecisiveness and sadness passed swiftly as the wall went back up. Hiding her emotions once more. Glaring at Hazmat, Kifu turned her attention to Acid. Offering the parrot a small smile.

Turning her gaze back to Hazmat, she continued to glare. "What's it to you?!"

Hazmat blinked a little more and frowned. A sigh left his muzzle as he realized this female was getting all defensive on him. "I... It's nothin' to me, I mean, it's YOUR wound or whatever." He spat a bit after that sentence and then rolled his eyes. Why did he care if the little female had a a nasty looking wound. "I mean... ....Who're you? What's your name?"

He settle down more comfortably, trying not to stare. Instead, he looked towards his bird and glared at the thing. "That thing, the bird? Her name is Acid... if you haven't gotten that yet.."

KIfu's glare softened as she continued to watch Hazmat. "I'm Kifu'Ini, Kifu for short" Here she turned her attention to Acid. "It's a pleasure to meet you Acid" Yes Kifu did prefer the parrot over Hazmat. At least for the moment.

Turning her gaze back to Hazmat, Kifu watched him quietly. Wondering if she'll manage to un-nerve the male. Her gaze unblinking.

Acid chirped and squawked at the female, clearly happy with Kifu. Yes, the bird preferred Kifu over Hazmat. It was weird, how no one liked Hazmat.

The male's wings fluttered a bit and he bristled at Acid's betrayal. How stupid! He hated that bird, but he couldn't do anything to it now. Kifu obviously didn't like violence. Snorting, he blinked a bit more and tilted his head to the side. "Kifu? I ....kinda like it. I guess. ......Got a family?"

"No...I do not" Her voice was flat and held no emotion. Clearly asking about her family was not the way to go. Kifu's eyes betrayed the raw pain she felt for a brief moment before disappear. "What about you...Do you have a family or is it just you and Acid" Her voice tinged with curiosity, now that the subject was off of her.

"I've got a mom and a dad... three siblings. One brother, two sisters... 'parently I come from a big line.." He said, mumbling, really. Honestly, though, why didn't she have a family? Hazmat wanted to ask so bad, but he'd seen her reaction to just asking if she had a family. "I can let you meet my sisters sometime. Maybe you'll like them. Though he wouldn't know, really. Hazmat never spent time with his siblings. He always slipped away.
