methinks we have a thread containing this, but it would be good to set up one for suggested reading, etc.
ok! there this book by Greenhouse, called the Astral Journey. i really like it. it discusses why people astrally project, where they go, what they do, and specific anecdotes, as well a some tips.

omg! i think i did it last night! i had a half awake half asleep dream, that i went downstairs to the dinning room table, and check my email, i had 4 new messeges, that i didn't look at. THen i talked to my friend on line and couldn't come up with anything to say, as soon a i deleted a messege and realized i couldn't say anything, i was awake in my body! this morning i have 2 new messeges, does that mean i didn't?

i've astral projected some times but its purely spontanious with me. I tryed to make it happen wenever i wanted but the time i tried it i fainted. I mostly have it when i'm super down or really angry. Then i just get this weird vibe and i shake really bad and then for just a few sec(can't hang on longer my friend says) i can see myself like i'm sleeping i'm in my bed. Its really scary but i would really love to have it under control

try working with meditation to calm your mind and get yourself under control, if you are able to to it randomly like that you should have no problem controling it. Meditation would be your best bet.

When I've meditated last weekend I had some candles burning and I was on a blank plain I think and then I was in my room but moved around then I walk out into the living room and went back to the plain. I saw my cat for a second. Nothing really happened I guess, but I was really awesome.

I'm pretty sure that is, like what I've tried to do I think you just need to practice at it. I could be wrong, Ivy would know. I felt really weird after I did that too. I felt drained and....wobbly I guess.

It is posible to only start coming out of your body half way. When I first started learning AP, my mom had explained to me earlier that morning how it worked and what to do, and I was riding in a car, cars make me feel really relaxed, so I tried it and I got sitting up off the back of the seat in my car, but then I got really scared because the car was moving and I was feeling like I was about to slip through the back of the car so i bumped back in to my body. You should continue your work with AP, it should be easier, and oh yeah my fears from above were totally irrational and you can never lose your body.
Ok on how you felt after AP, that is totally normal, well actually different people feel different ways, just like when you get done with a ritual, some people feel tired others really energies, some feel really layed back and at harmony with the world, really it just depends on the person. 3nodding

i really want to try AP, but i figure i should probably get down the basics first, like meditation (which im not good at).
i keep wanting to rush into these things, then when they dont work, i get dissapointed. i just have to keep telling myself that i need to slow it down and start small. ^_^;

Can you AP without going deeply into meditation? i can't seem to get deep enough asleep, in meditation, and this is effecting my AP ability(methinks). What should i do?

When you go into meditation, you really should not be asleep, but in a trace. And yes you do have to be very deep in that trance. I would sudgest not trying to AP until you can succesfully go into that trance. I cant do that yet.... I kinda suck at meditation.

The first few times I tried to meditate I was very distracted by almost all the sounds I could hear around me and I couldn't stay condentrated very long. I would try a candle or incense and maybe some music for meditation, I like to listen to that. Once you are relaxed and into it you should flow into a transe state I would think.
