It had been a very, very long day in Eyrndlyn. Her mother, Matron Narcelia, had sent her here for a short trip in finding House Faertala a new Patron. Matron Narcelia had grown tired of the last one, a male by the name of Talathain. He had fathered the Matron's three children: Yasrena, who was the eldest of the three and both a Priestess and Seeress; Talice, who was a Priestess that specialized in the Healing aspect of her magic, and Sorn, who had taken over the position of weapon's master.

The latter she didn't care about, he was naught but a male, easily replaced. With her power to See short glimpses into the future, she was used for most missions the House needed tending to. She was told to touch as many males as possible, and if she Saw any potential in them, to bring them back to House Faertala for rigorous questioning, as well as testing them to see if their genes were worthy.

Matron Narcelia was still quite young, only two-hundred-and-fifty-seven years old. She had many years of child bearing ahead of her, and a new Patron was needed seeing as she was tired of the old one. He was past his prime, and not so good in the bed chambers as he once was. Now he had been stripped of the House name and was a lone Noble, not much use for anything anymore except for near slavery. He had only been kept so long because he had fathered two females, but when Sorn had come along, the only male, he had been disposed of.

Menzoberranzan had been searched in every nook and cranny for a new Patron for House Faertala, but Yasrena had yet to See anything important enough in their futures to bring them into their royal House. They needed someone gifted, someone strong who would father many more females. The more Priestesses a House had claim to, the more powerful they could become. Males didn't matter much, the third always sacrificed to the Goddess Lloth, goddess to all Drow and Queen of Spiders.

Now she searched Eyrndlyn for potentials. All day she had been standing in public, holding out her hands to touch as many individuals as possible. Seeing so many futures at once had been so very, very draining. Each vision had brought her head first into these possibilities. In a reality that was just as real as the table she now sat, she could see some of them die, some of them rise in power, some of them father children, or lose Lloth's favor.

It was because of this draining of power that when she brought the cup of tea to her lips, she didn't suspect anything, too tired to Watch as she always did. The tea was warm, and soothing to her bones, but as she drank, she noticed a bitter taste at the back of her throat that shouldn't be there. She set the cup down, thinking it was just her at first, but it wasn't long before she could feel her throat swell up, not soon after her vision blurring, making it hard to see.

All those around her watched in fear as this Priestess gasped for air. To poison a female out in public, where there could be witnesses! In everyday Drow life, anything was aloud as long as you weren't caught. Many Houses rose in ranking as they completely blotted out the existence of another. All of that family were to be killed, even the children, so that none would survive to put the blame on another House. As long as there were no witnesses to speak of, the attacking House would be secretly applauded, and it would be as if the old House never before existed.

But to poison a female out in public, where there were many fingers to point the blame was incredibly stupid. As her bright blue eyes - eyes that she had inherited from her mother, as the rest of her siblings had - scanned the room, all fell to their knees in excrutiating mental pain by the force of her power. She was not one to be trifled with, and all would feel her wrath if she were to die this night.

"M'lady!" a tiny female gasped, and Yasrena held up for a moment to hear her speak. "Please, I know of one who could fix an antidote for you, please!"

Yasrena nodded curtly, letting her power fade. The little female guided her from the tiny inn, rushing her through the streets. Her air was just about gone, her vision nearly black. Soon she would be dead, and none would be able to help her. She prayed to the Goddess, prayed to let her live, to offer the blood of those who wanted her dead, to sacrifice their lives in Her name. As she prayed, she could feel the poison weakening, just enough to let her pull in tiny breaths, but it would still kill her.

They burst through a door, and she could see a tall male through her blurred vision. He had a scar on one side of his face, and what looked like snakes all over him. The room roared and elongated, and the man turned into a giant spider that came at her with ferocious fangs. She screamed, and screamed, and screamed. Suddenly she could no longer see, and it wasn't long before the darkness swallowed her whole.

Ryldirahc's days had become as close to routine as a drow could stand to let them. Every day that passed in his shop in Eyrndlyn, the mage somehow wished that he did not have such a reliable business. Hmph. He liked his work, enjoyed the profits, and this interest kept him running the shop and tending his clients with great dependability. He always wanted more freedom to work on things of his own desire. A little adventure wouldn't hurt!

The mage found himself in this mood yet again, and had prepared to shut shop up early. This way he could have the whole evening to practice his own new spells. The last customer, an unhappy surface raider, had finally been kicked out. Barely a moment before Ryldirahc was about to exit the door himself, he found a pair of females tumbling in in a panic.

"What in the name of.." Before he could protest or grumble, his sharp green eyes caught the illness afflicting one of the drow. Oh! Never wish for excitement for Lolth will grant it by the score! He scrambled to diagnose the nature of the poisoning as soon as he managed to help the other female maneuver the victim over to a bare table. It wouldn't be comfortable, but she couldn't exactly stand up on her own either.

"Alright, I can see your Mistress needs my help just.. make sure you keep her still. By Lolth I will do what I can."

Ryldirahc's brow furrowed as he raced to grab a vial of the most important antidote weapon he had in his arsenal. He mixed this vile purple liquid up weekly to keep it highly potent. Ryld called it his 'way to buy time.' Even if it could not cure the effects of a poison, it would at least slow the progression of symptoms down. Gripping the female's jaw open, he dropped four drops down unto her tongue.

Hopefully that would calm the female's body and allow the mage time to figure out her treatment. He could not idly wait to watch her reaction. Ryldirahc kept thinking, his strong fingers moving with speed to form runes as he communed with the Goddess. The mage was preparing a spell to use should his first antidote not succeed.

The darkness was all around her, closing in slowly. She couldn't see, she couldn't hear, she couldn't taste or talk. Soon it would all be over, and her life would be over. All she could do was wait, and pray to the Goddess that her life be spared. What could she offer to oppease one so great? she thought numbly.

It almost felt peaceful to die, it would be easy, there would be no effort. All she had to do was let go. Let go of life, let go of her sister and her brother, of her mother, the great Lady known as Matron Narcelia. Her mother loved her, as did her sister. Sorn was a different story of course, males were naught but rubbage, possessions to be used as you pleased.

But Narcelia would miss her, as would Talice.

It was this thought that kept her tethered to this world instead of shucking her body like an insect shucked its old skin, letting herself drift into that peaceful darkness that promised eternal rest and quiet.

She felt something slowly trickle into her mouth, and her eyes darted open. There was a high pitched sound coming from somewhere, and she shut her mouth quickly when she realized it was her own body screaming. Yasrena, the Seeress of House Faertala show weakness in front of these strangers, and a male at that?

Her bright blue eyes narrowed before darting to the little female had brought her here. The threat was plain in her eyes, and the little Drow darted away as quickly as possible, not wanting to bear the wrath of a Priestess in the full flower of her years and power.

She watched the female leave before turning back to the male, taking a closer look this time. He was attractive as males went, but his scar drew her eyes to that specific part of his face, and it was extremely hard to look away. If it wasn't for the poison coursing through her veins she would've killed him on the spot for seeing her like this, but as it went she desperately needed his help.

"Heal me!" she said, though her lips never moved. Rather, it was inside his head, and it took the last of her strength to do something so simple as speaking silently. Once again she lost consciousness, but was no longer in darkness. Instead she was dreaming, but no, this wasn't a dream, it was a vision.

She saw this male on the throne next to Matron Narcelia, on his knees and looking at the ground submissively. Narcelia had a wicked grin on her face, and she raised one hand to pet the top of the male's head like he was a pet, though she probably considered him one from their body language.

She watched herself step in front of the Matron, bowing deeply, and Narcelia thanked her daughter for bringing her such a treat. Leaving the raised dais where the throne sat, she once again bowed deeply, showing her loyalty to her mother before leaving the room, a wicked grin of her own across her beautiful features. The vision faded, and sleep took her into it's welcoming embrace.

The sound of the screaming female was hardly unexpected to his ears, given what the poison could be doing to her body. He hoped her screams were a good sign that the female was still fighting the poison and intent to live. Ryld had dealt with many many poisoning victims before and knew that their bodies could experience many awful sensations, depending on what the poison was targeted to do, even enough to make some drow give up their intense will to live. Living meant revenge!

Ryldirahc shook his head and concentrated. The screaming he expected but it was the voice from the female that sounded inside his mind which was an unnecessary distraction as far as he was concerned. Heal her? Well, by the Goddess, he was already working as hard as he could on that! Females. He pursed his lips and only gave a grave nod in reply as his hands hastily worked to finish preparing the next spell.

It was plain to see now that the first antidote had no effect. Her breathing looked more peaceful, true, but the poison still was flowing. The spell Ryld was forming was a special one to him. He had created it out of his interest in archaic elemental magic, combining it with other spells he had learned.

Ryldirahc shouted several words, breaking his amulet from the chain around his neck. The amulet slowly grew hot and the swirling liquid inside it turned a vibrant red. He took the amulet in one hand, restrained the priestess's arm with the other, and pricked her skin with its sharpened point. He held the amulet against the small beading of blood as he finished the spell to burn the poison in her system. An aura around the pendant glowed, the heat breaking over the priestess in waves of almost snake-like forms as the magic worked to stamp out the offending poison.

If this did not work, he knew well that there was nothing he could do. And as she was a priestess, it would be in his interest to think of his own fate. The male grimaced. Was Lolth finished with this servant of hers?

Sleep was peaceful, and it almost felt as if she was no longer tethered to her body. Opening her eyes, she saw herself laying on a table and a male who would otherwise be very attractive except for the scar that marred one side stood over her with an amulet. It seemed she was watching from above, and it only confirmed that she was no longer in her body. Was this death then? Death was so calm and peaceful, it would be so easy to just let go.

Part of her wanted to release her tether to life and drift into the abyss. But that was was weak compared to the other, more larger part who wanted revenge. Anger surged through her veins, in sang in her blood. Who would dare posion a female of House Faertala? It was this anger that guided her back to her body.

Once back inside she felt rolls of heat washing over her body, and sweat beaded on her dark skin. No, she was no longer dead, death was not this uncomfortable. Her heart was beating eratically, and when she finally opened her eyes, she could see the male standing above her. Everything was sore and she was drenched in sweat like she had just run a marathon, but no longer did she feel like she was being ripped apart from the inside. So, he head healed her.

"You.... you healed me," she said softly, sounding quite innocent and kind, something very unlike her usual demeanor. Hearing the own weakness in her voice, her bright blue eyes hardened, and she sat up groaning slightly. Looking up at the Drow that saved her, her eyes narrowed, and she grabbed him by the top of his shirt. Her legs spread and she pulled him to her body, her lips fierce on his as her tongue darted into his mouth.

From what her vision had informed her, this male would become a part of her House, but she wanted a taste of him before she had to give him over to her mother. Hopping off the table, she pushed him onto it and climbed over him so that she was straddling him. With a snap of her fingers, the door to his shop slammed and locked itself with a loud 'click.' The blinds went over his windows and the lights of violet faerie fire in the room went on with a flash.

Her mother had once told her long ago that near death experiences made you arroused, and she had never believed her, but now she thought she knew what her mother had been talking about. She would taste of this male before he helped her enact her revenge. The Priestess smiled wickedly, her sudden lust taking them from there.

Ryld did not breathe in relief to hear the female speaking. He always trusted females to be quite unpredictable after an attempt on their life. She would react somehow to throw away any false impression of vulnerability. It was hard-wired in a drow's brain to make up for implied weakness and he was bracing himself to take the brunt of it. She might be of the mind to kill all who had knowledge of her weakest moments. He was fearing the worst as the drow before him began to reach for his shirt.

Ryldirahc stiffened and started to draw another spell. His eyes glowed a brighter green in alarm. And then she kissed him. 'By the Goddess!' So that look in her eyes had been aggression afterall, but not a deadly sort.

The male was a drow through and through. Ryld had his instincts to defend himself thwarted when she came after him with unexpected lust. His body reacted with both desire and defensive anger to the sudden impulses that had overtaken the alluring female. It was true that in private drow seemed to find pleasure in reversing the facade they put on daily. Ryld was no small male and he grabbed her roughly with a cruel grin, his green eyes hot and dangerous.

Interlude: A mysterious black curtain kicked the narrating author outside on the streets.

Ryldirahc panted a heavy sigh and stretched. His dark back was coated with sweat. Rising up from the floor where he had somehow ended up, the mage mused to himself that more of his clients should react that way. (Well, maybe not quite that intensely or the poor male would lack the strength to get any work done.) He crossed the room and reached into a chest. Ryld's other set of clothes were of little condition to be worn now. His arm dipped down much deeper than the chest appeared to be and when he raised it up he had retrieved another green garment. His favorite color.

Ryld's eyes roamed over the female, "Well, Lady, it might be late for introductions but my name is Ryldirahc."

Yasrena was quite surprised when the unnamed male replied to her advances with enthusiasm. His touch was strong and dangerous, the feel of his large hands on her naked body driving her wild. She hated to know that this male was meant to be with her mother, but before she had to hand him over she would have her own fun with him.

---

When they were finished she was breathing heavily, barely able to catch her breath. She had had many lovers before this male, but none so intense and none quite so... well, large, if she was telling the truth. He was an incredible lover, so violent and rough, not at all what she had been expecting when she had attacked him just a few hours before.

The entire ordeal had put her into complete and utter bliss, and she doubted she would be able to form any coherent words. Her slim body was soaked in sweat, her black skin glistening in the light from his fire. A little angrily she noticed her clothes were ruined from him ripping them from her body, but she was too happy to let that get to her.

When he spoke her blue eyes dashed to him quickly, scanning over his naked, well-toned body that was glistening in the light of the fire as well. All she wanted to do was go another round, and he wouldn't be able to deny her if that was what she wanted, but she knew she, no not she, they, had more important things to do. Of course there were many dark alleys they could sneak into, which was a very pleasing thought.

As he told her his name she smiled widely, her smile dark, seductive and sexy. "Well, it was very nice you meet you, Ryldirahc. I am called Yasrena, Seeress of House Faertala, first daughter of Matron Narcelia, and next in line to the seat of power. I am in your debt for saving me, and you will be paid well for your services this night."

She looked away momentarily, knowing he wouldn't like what she was going to come next. Yasrena didn't have to be a psychic to know how this male would react. When she looked back her eyes were stern, letting him know through look alone that he couldn't refuse what she was going to say.

"You will not like what I have to say, but it must be said. I was poisoned, as you very well know, and I will not rest until I find the assailant. They will feel my wratch if it is the last thing I ever do. Not only will this stranger suffer, but they will come crashing down under the weight of House Faertala." Her voice rang with power, the air around her shimmering with heat and crackling from her anger.

"I must enlist your services in this vendetta. You are a very powerful Mage, something my House is lacking at the moment due to the death of our last Patron. I have other news you mite not like as well." She sighed. "I am here because of my visions, and I was using them to find our new Patron. All today I have not had one vision until I met you. When you touched me for the first time, I had a vision of you standing next to my Mother's side. You are our new Patron, Ryldirahc, it is something I cannot deny no matter how badly I want to take you for myself."

Ryldirahc would have been quite pleased enough simply to wait, panting, and stare at the beautiful drow at his side. But he had to go and ruin the blissful silence by speaking. He was curious, and maybe he should not have been, although she seemed to have plenty of things to tell him. The mystery about her situation had him listening carefully, hanging to her words as he watched her seductive lips moving.

She was a seeress. He had never known one to be out like this, so free and strong. Seers were often guarded treasures and Ryldirahc had some notion that they were not so.. physically minded. But then, Yasrena could do whatever she wished couldn't she? Who would deny the Matron's eldest?

Ryldirahc's blood went cold as he listened to the rest of her little speech. His naked body tensed and he stood away from the female, face clenched in concern. Concern for himself. He was to.. what? This was not what he had expected her to say.

Her anger was strong and a male could never stand in her way. Such was his place. He would have to help her. And why not, she said she would pay well for his services. But what else was she getting at? A Patron? Now that role he could not at all believe he was meant to fall into. Lolth!

Ryldirahc was stumped for words. He couldn't tell her she was wrong.

"Mistress Yasrena, of course I would be at your service to help you find who poisoned you." The mage took a deep breath, pressing a palm against his sweaty chest as if he was having some pains at her words, "I can't deny what Lolth has shown you, but I can't.. it is difficult to hear so suddenly."

"Well imagine how it must be for me, seeing the male that I just had the most wonderful sex with in my entire life at my mother's side instead of my own. It is the visions that come on their own like this that are the most powerful, and I cannot ignore them. Perhaps the vision is wrong, perhaps it was just a faint maybe, I am not sure. If would could keep you hidden from my mother, then maybe she will not gain an interest in you. She does not have to know all of my affairs, and this would be easy to keep from her despite how dangerous that would be to do."

Yasrena didn't like the thought of this handsome Drow being their Patron any more than he did, and she would do all in her power to keep that from happening. They had only just met, but already she knew she wanted him for herself and herself only. To even think that he was going to be with her mother was a horrid thought. If her younger sister Talice even saw this handsome male she knew the girl would probably try to claim him as well, and Lolth help her she would kill her sibling if she even tried.

"I am sorry to bring you such bad news Ryldirahc, I really am. For now we can keep that out of our minds, we have much more important matters to attend to. The first is that I will need new clothes, for you ripped mine to pieces taking them of my body in your eagerness." Her voice still sounded angry, but that wasn't because of him, so she smiled to lessen her anger some so he would know her anger wasn't directed at him. She was only angry because this vision was really bothering her, and she would pray to Lolth that this wouldn't come to pass.

Walking over to him she pressed her naked body against his, her breasts touching his chest as her hands felt along his muscular back, moving down to cup his firm behind. She looked up into his eyes, intently examining the scar that marred one side of his face. The more she thought about it the more she realized that she actually liked it, it made him even more handsome than he already was. If he didn't have it, she realized, she wouldn't be so attracted to him, for it showed what a strong and powerful Drow she was, and power was something she respected very much.

"Second, you must help me in my revenge. I can force a vision when I must, but right now I have not regained all of my strength, and I must rest. I am sure you can help me find this poisoner and their motive behind this. At the moment my House does not have any open enemies, so I do not understand why someone would dare poison me. My family is not even located in this city, our house is within a stalacmite and stalagtite that met within Menzoberranzan, ringed with purple faerie fire that is not harsh on our eyes. My mother herself worked the magic that turned it from pure rock into many rooms and halls for the parties we constantly host. We have not tried to rise within the rankings of our city in many hundred of years, so I just do not understand." With a sigh she leaned in and rested the side of her head against his muscular chest.

Ryld did not quite like everything he was hearing from Yasrena. So much was happening, all too fast for him. A seer doubting her own visions, wanting to hide him? From her Matron? That is what it sounded like and he did not know what had possessed him to respond to her as he had. It had been a long time since he had let a powerful female get to him this way. Ryldirahc normally tried to maintain his life independently as a mage without the control of any female immediately over him, no House at all, but now… He was set to be in the middle of it all as a patron if her words were true.

It should have been clear that there was no way a male with power could make it through Lolth's wicked webs of chaos forever without any female to take control of that power for herself. The mage tried to push his worries about being a patron aside. Now was not the time! Especially since it was just a vision and may not come to pass for all he knew. Who was to say this Matron would even want him nearly as much as her daughter seemed to? Something about Yasrena had drawn him in.

Ryld cringed to think of being caught between a Matron and her daughter. Drow were never known for faithfulness and honesty, but he would not want to see the aftermath if the Matron found out Yasrena deceived her about such an important task as searching for her patron. Ryld wished somehow that he was sorely incompetent or else had left the shop early. Anything. It did not much matter which way things went. They'd have no reason to consider his desires, which left him with only the task of getting himself through this one problem at a time- one female or another would make their claim eventually but now there was an assassin to hunt down.

"It has definitely been a pleasure being at your side so far, Lady, do not doubt it. The vision is too much to think on, I really am growing curious now about who here could have dared do this to you." The mage frowned slightly, wondering about the puzzle of finding a poisoner.

Ryldirahc shook his head, "I can't tell you what to do about the vision. Or your Mother." His face relaxed as the priestess seemed to relax as well, enough to give him a smile at least. Her forceful attitude was attractive to him but not if he was truly the cause. Yasrena's alluring smile told him there was likely nothing too painful in mind, nothing at least that wouldn't be for the sake of pleasure, so the mage responded.

Ryld leaned in with his hands low on her waist, pulling her gently his way, "I can't tell you anything about who might have attacked you either. But I can tell you something that will make your strength return. Do you mind another spell?" He raised a hand to push hair back over her shoulder. "It takes a little time to prepare for you, but it works quite amazingly."

From time to time Ryld had found himself too exhausted from casting spells or else had an accident while developing something for his shop, and he didn't want to take the full time to recover. He had succeeded in learning a spell to speed recovery but not without some added vulnerability. When the spell would be cast, the target of it would be completely physically drained and lose their defenses until the magic replenished them. The break before it took effect did not last long, and the effects were ultimately more lasting and rejuvenating than a mere potion could be so in his mind the slight trade off was well worth it.

The little female was glad to hear that it seemed Ryldirahc was enjoying her company as much as she was enjoying him. He possessed much power, and it was that power within him that attracted her so much. If he would've responded to her sexual advances weekly or with protest, she wouldn't've liked him as much as she did, but as soon as he had shown that aggressive side of himself she just couldn't resist.

She hated most of the men in Drow society. Most were so submissive and weak, so easily disposed of. They could never stand up to a female and most acted so afraid that they wouldn't even look you in the eyes. Of course most female would take offense to a man looking at them directly, but she liked how Ryld had looked her right in the eyes so directly, right from the beginning. He wasn't afraid of her as most men were, and it was his boldness that drew her in as well.

All of that plus his ability to heal her was a major plus. Usually it was the women that were more talented and competent at magic, a larger majority of the men being warriors and the like. To find that he was powerful, almost as powerful as herself was quite a surprise, and she just knew her Matron would be attracted to that just as she had been. The last Patron of House Faertala had been a little male who had been completely submissive to her mother as well as his own daughters.

He had sired three children, two daughters and a very talented male who had become the swordsman of the House. Both daughters had become Priestesses like their mother, one even being born with Second Sight. The other had a natural gift with Healing, and could heal just about any injury. She could remember when a soldier of the house had his arm nearly torn off, from the elbow down being held on by a single ligament. Her healing was so strong that all of the sinew, bone, and even all the tissue had knitted back together without even a single scar to show that he had been injured so severely.

Siring such powerful children was what had kept him alive so many years. It was when her mother had found him trying to leave her House for another to be their Patron that he had died. She was so angry with him that she had attacked him with such powerful magic that all that had been left of him was a black spot on the stone floor and a pile of ashes. She had cursed him so powerfully that his soul would suffer for the rest of eternity within the abyss. All Drow who angered their Goddess were sent to the abyss where they would suffer for all time.

That had been almost two years before, and their Matron had many hundred years of child bearing before her. The more children a Matron gave birth to, the more power it would give the House. Three children was such a small number, and she needed many more if she ever wished for their House to rise in the rankings. If they could find another male that was more powerful than the last, perhaps with such strong genes he would sire even stronger children. The last male being so weak and siring such strong children, it was only common sense that if two powerful beings had children, the results would be even better.

Yasrena knew that if Ryld was brought before her Matron, she would claim him immediately, and she would never be able to taste of him again. Of course she had many lovers before this male, always taking care not to get pregnant of course, but none had satisfied her so fully. If she had the time she could make love to him from dusk until dawn, but unfortunately they did not. Still, not would not stop her from testing his power again and again whenever they got the chance. "I am glad you have enjoyed yourself," she chuckled, pulling away from him and looking around for something to change into. She didn't mind being naked, especially seeing as she was pressed so closely against him, but she did need some kind of clothing.

Without waiting for permission she started digging through his drawers, shuffling through potion bottles and spell ingredients, glad that he seemed to know what he was doing. Lolth bless him, she found one drawer that had back up clothing! She pulled out everything she could get her hands on, and in the end found herself quite comfortable. She probably shouldn't've used magic to alter the clothing, but now she found herself in clothes that fit her perfectly; a tight black blouse that clung to her large breasts and thin waist, and a pare of black leather trousers, even a pare of large boots of his that she had made to actually fit.

When she was finished she turned around to watch him, and when he brought up the vision she sighed deeply. "For now just forget about my vision, they have been wrong before, and let us hope it is wrong again. Typically the ones sent by Lolth have the most meaning, and I am sure this one was her doing. Again, let us ignore it for now. It will be some time before I see my Mother again, so for now let us forget about her as well. Right what is important is finding my attacker. They will suffer the rest of eternity within the abyss of I have something to say of it." A wicked gleam filled her eyes, and an evil smirk crossed her lips.

She was thinking of all the possibly horrors she could reap upon this person. Perhaps she would break all of their fingers one at a time, or cut them off slowly. She could make their skin burn like they were on fire, or summon their worst nightmares, making them a reality. It was as she thought of these horrors that he brought up a spell that could possibly make her strength return to her. Instantly she was suspicious, for nothing came without a price, but she found that she trusted this male, as much as she could possibly trust a stranger anyway. Still, she had felt his power deep inside of her, and he had done nothing to harm her. "No.... I wouldn't mind a spell," she said slowly, crossing her arms over her chest and looking him deep in the eyes for any falseness to his words.

He could not tell what to make of her. Ryld watched her make quick work of transforming his spare clothing into something form-fitting and very flattering. He admired her work. Yasrena was not at all what many drow would think a precious seeress to be. She was stronger, more direct and more independent. He could admire that. If only for a little while until they found her attacker, Ryld knew he would take full advantage of being in her company.

Hearing her say that her visions had been wrong before gave the mage a little burst of hope. Maybe she was wrong. Maybe his life would not involve being drug off as a patron. She had to be wrong. Had to. Serving as Patron to a stranger was not something he could do, could he? Ryld shook his head.

The spell. That was important, not the vision. "It's safe and fast, however, you will be a bit.. drained at first. It is very much worth it. It's the way I do it. It cleans your energies out quite thoroughly, then when it replenishes you the effect is long lasting." Ryld tried hard to pick the right words. He did not want to say 'vulnerable' or 'weak' to a female like Yasrena. That might be too much of a red flag. He was prepared to take that gamble and let her find out the hard way- first hand.

"I will need to prepare a few things. Do you want to get back on the table?"

"Well I have never heard of such a spell before, but so far you have proven yourself competent with magic, so I trust that what you say is true." Turning around she climbed back onto the table, a little nervous remembering that just nearly an hour before she had been laid across this surface almost dead. With a deep breath she spread her body out and put her arms behind her head so that she was comfortable.

From the corner of her eyes she watched him worked, admiring the way he moved, with such confidence and skill. He would make a good Patron, and Matron Narcelia would be very pleased with her if she brought this male home. But what was worth more, pleasing her Mother, or pleasing herself? All of her life she had always done what her mother asked of her, always done whatever she could possibly do to please the woman who had given birth to her. From very young she had always had visions, but it wasn't until she was ten years old and had started her training that she had admitted this to her mother.

From then on they had treated her differently, like she was some precious object to be protected at all times. All Houses wanted a Seeress, for they were very valuable women to have. To know what was coming before it happened was a very useful gift, especially when you were constantly fearing attack and retaliation from other Houses. Her visions had saved them more times than she could count. It was only fifty years or so that her mother had allowed her to actually leave the protection of their House, and even then it had been in the company of guards. As she had grown older and became more independent, she had refused to let anyone guard her, demanding that she be let out on her own. She knew her Mother feared losing her, so she had allowed her daughter to do as she wished.

But who feared who more? Did the Matron fear her first daughter more than the first daughter feared her Matron? That was something she had to really think about before all of this ended. It looked like Ryld enjoyed her company, the most any man could enjoy a woman anyway without fearing her retribution. It was true, that if he did anything to harm her she would kill him without a moment's hesitation. It was so deeply ingrained within herself that all women were better than any man, and she doubted that would change any time soon. Nevertheless, she would regret killing someone so strong, talented, and powerful as he was. "Are you almost ready?" she asked steadily after long moments of silent contemplation.

Only competent? Ryld bit his tongue and tried to nod reassuringly to the female. Sure, he was competent alright! Hmph. Competent. The slight would be something to rankle his nerves for hours on any other day, but right now the mage knew he couldn't dwell over it. He couldn't think about the beautiful female's touch either. His mind needed to be clear.

Ryldirahc gathered a few items. From a slim black glass jar he poured just a few drops of a clear oil into a stone dish. Some dark matter from another jar and a few clear pieces of mineral. It started to hiss against the stone. With a spell, the mage heated the mixture and the mineral and dark concoction melted together with the oil. The vapors were thick over the bowl, giving the room a sharp and pungent acidic smell. Though the vapors were heavy and fell towards the floor, Ryld quickly smeared a thick ointment under his nostrils to be safe.

"I apologize, Lady, but you will have to breath this in. Breath deeply and it will be done soon."

He drew the bowl closer to her, placing it on a stool slightly higher than her table and pushing it up behind her head. Ryld fanned the fumes down over Yasrena. Most healers had something similar in their bag of tricks to calm a fussy drow before surgery or administering a taxing spell. But Ryld desired a more complicated effect. A mental and physical relaxation. Some drow reported it as sending you into a hyper-aware state where your mind felt separate from your body. If his next spell was going to work and work safely, unfortunately for Yasrena, that meant she could not have the option of her body putting up a resistance to the magic even if unintentionally.

Before the vapors could die down, Ryld began the spell. The mage slammed his staff down on the floor. The orb at its end softly glowed and he lowered it to touch the female's chest as he began to speak rhythmically, power coursing over her.

Yasrena could see a tightening of his eyes for a moment as she lay back on his table, and she was curious as to what she had said that had rankled him so. It didn't matter much to her though, females were aloud to say whatever the hell they pleased without the consequences really affecting them, so she had only been curious and didn't dwell on it long. She watched intently as he started mixing things together, then a most disgusting smell filled her nose, and she just about gagged. When he told her that she would need to breathe the stuff in she pushed it away.

There was no way in the abyss that she was going to breathe this stuff into her nostrils, and she had no clue of knowing what the effects were going to be. But when she touched her hand to his to push it away, her eyes got that far away look again, and she watched herself get off the table with power thrumming and vibrating around her body. It was obvious she was fully healed, and that she would need to do as he said. The vision ended quite abruptly, and she knew that it was because she was weak, very weak indeed for the vision to not complete itself. In the end she did as she said and leaned in to breathe in the horrid scent.

As she did so she felt a numbness start to spread from her toes up to her long legs. It reached her waist, then her stomach and breasts, then finally her neck then head. When the numbness was complete she couldn't feel a thing, then she felt her consciousness leave her body, and she was floating about herself and Ryld who had begun to chant in a deep, rhythmic tone. She didn't like being out of her body like this, she did not like it one bit, and she began to scream and thrash in the air, but no matter how loud she screamed or how hard she kicked, her body down there never moved, and Ryld never looked up. "You b*****d, I will kill you! I will send you to the abyss and you will never see the faerie fire of our world ever again!"

Again and again she yelled at him, even kicking and hitting him, but he never seemed to feel or notice a thing as he continued to chant over her body. This had been his intention all along, to separate her soul from her body so he could use it for his sick purposes, or turn it into a slave of some sort. If she ever got back he would feel the entire wrath of House Faertala if it was the last thing she did. As she did all of this it seemed she had already forgot the vision she had seen of herself getting up from the table fully healed and once again powerful, for she was too angry and thinking of too many nasty and horrifying things she wanted to do to him. Oh, she wanted to make him suffer, she wanted to make him burn, she wanted to break every bone in his body then one by one cut off every single finger and toe.

When she got back to her body, yes when, for it was too horrible to thing if, she would bring down the full power of her House on this male. She would tell them it was him that had poisoned her, then he had seduced her with his magic and overcame her then raped her repeatedly. They would not think to second guess anything she said, for if they got her angry, they too would feel her wrath, and a female's wrath was something to behold indeed. No, they would have to believe everything she said lest they wanted to die, then they would have to follow her orders and send their entire army after the man that had done all of this. Oh how she would love to watch him die. Lolth curse him for tricking her out of her body like this!
