I like St. Patrick's Day well enough, but I happen to live on the same street as all the bars, and so peace and quiet at my home on that day is more or less a pipe dream.
Though every year around that time Sioux Falls, which is about an hour from where I live, has an Irishfest weekend, with traditional dancing, and music, and art, and things. Maybe this year I'll check it out, because I've always wanted to.

I've already been commissioned at school to play a bit of traditional Irish music on my tin whistle. I'm really excited, because it's my first public performance. I'm an amateur, but oh well! Still can't wait...
106 days!

My family isn't big on St. Patricks day, seeing as they're not Christian, but we still go down to the pub and laugh at all the drunk people who fall on their a*&.

Yeah I have read about Saint Patrick day in Ireland. For those of you who are not Chrisitan that week of Saint Patricks day was TRADITIONALLY the celebration of brid/brig/dana/danu/brigiy/bridget! (too many names but it depends on the period!)

Pyth-chan Weird.
I live in Ireland and St Paddy's is actually one of the most boring days of the year. oo; It's so fun in the states... You really should visit during St. Patrick's Day... It's so incredibly festive. Especially in NY... There's parades everywhere, and lots and lots of green. Everyone with an ounce of Irish blood celebrates their heritage, even if they understand next to nothing about it (which can either be a compliment or an insult, but whatever), and being 100% Irish, and born and raised in Ireland, you're practically worshipped that day. I really really really like it. sweatdrop
