So the first one that came out was cute. It had fun stuff. Then a few months later they came out with a new one. Okay. But now it seems like they get a new one out as soon as the latest one sells out.
I thought it was ridiculous when people called Gaia money grubbers when the second one came out but now it's getting a little crazy.
What do you all think?

i know D: i wish they just gave us more real chances to actuall earn so gaia gold. truthfully i hope, us gaians still only have a handful of items we want.

I totally agree. They are dirty money grabbers. xD There is no way to earn the gold for the items. Not only can we not get any of the items unless we buy them but I hate how they rip everything from popular Anime and Video Games.

I don't mind that. I like that I can dress as a favorite character. I don't like that half the items you win from these things are stuff you can buy in the store. They're just not worth getting anymore. And by the time you earn enough gold to buy a cool item from the market place, they've come out with 5 new item games with stuff you want that you won't be able to afford until the next 10 are out.

I think the best way to make money is
getting lucky in zOMG and selling rings you find,
but even then,
that's only 10-50k a ring,
so it takes a lot of work Dx

I don't post a lot so I sell things I get in the daily chance or sell off letters that are a few years old. I'll probably be a colorist for a breedable shop soon too so that should bring in a fair bit of gold.

You gotta admit, it's a brilliant yet devious scheme. Being a business major, I find the cash card system to be a good and fascinating thing. (I'm just weird like that). I mean if you think about it, Gaia has been doing it since the beginning with the monthly collectibles. No one has to buy anything they offer, but people do to show support. They just increased it when Gaia expanded. There's a larger demographic to reach out to, and plenty of willing people to throw their cash into Gaia. Has Gaia become money grubbing? No doubt, but they have to be when they now reach out to how many hundreds of thousands of people?
The cash card can actually be a little nicer to use so you don't have to use your gold. I'm assuming that Gaia is making gold seem more valuable. I mean, say you buy a $5.00 cash card. You could pretty much buy any of the older store items that were originally on the site for cheap. (Anywhere from 1 cash to 7.00 or 8.00 is it?) I mean I remember when the G-LOL gown set came out, and I couldn't afford the 13,000 gold. So I held off until recently and got one for 217 cash, which is a heck of a lot cheaper than me buying it with my gold.
The people who are making it impossible to buy items with gold are the Gaians who have realized this opportunity and are exploiting it. They probably think, "Well, since Gaians use cash cards, they save their gold for the bigger, harder to get items. Oh, I've got a Mona the Platypus that people still want, let me sell it for a 1 mil." Hence, the price inflates, and a greedy Gaian gets that 1 mil for an item.
As for Gaia ripping things from anime and video games - well, that's what people like and want. If marketing research shows that Naruto is uber popular, and there is an opportunity for those fans to buy something Naruto-esque, then of course there will be an item for it. Businesses always cater to what the demand is. So we demand Naruto stuff, they deliver.
@Mugoi, I agree that when you finally have enough gold to buy something in the market place, 5 new things pop up, however this can work to your advantage. In a way, this balances out for Gaians because when those 5 new things appear, there's a hype about them. The older items either become less popular, which makes it more affordable, or, they increase in value. Telling whether it'll go up or down is tricky to spot, but I guess you gotta kinda check on the item you're after. Like I got the pink belled ribbons for like 20,000 and now it's back up to 36,000.
HOW TO MAKE GOLD:
Ok, I know my rant is already long, but here are some tricks I've learned that have helped me boost up my gold:
~Think of a minimum limit of gold you want to keep at all times and will try not to get below. (For me it's 200,000)
~Check daily chance
~Write in your journal once a day, even if all you write is bump.
~Post in one or more of your guilds/forum you visit frequently.
~WIf possible, whatever junk items you have in your inventory, sell from your inventory NOT the marketplace. More than likely all your junk items' sell back value will be higher than it would if you were to sell it on the market place.
~Try to keep your marketplace shop full. Out with the clutter, in with the gold.
~Enter a tektek challenge in the dressing room. You never know, your style may be perfect for the Gaian who asks for a tektek.
~Reply to more than one post on the Verizon bottle post thing.
~Play the games
All right, that's all I can think of. Man that was a long rant. =_=;;;

OK, OK, I gave in and bought a pack of the Azrael's Trickbox. sweatdrop crying sweatdrop crying But the pale marionette was sooo tempting. I didn't get it, but I got a bunch of nifty stuff. I mean just look at the goodies this time:
