(( This is a continuation of an RP taking place on page 780 in the shop thread. Nar and D have stepped out after being interrupted by Chiwa ))
*Nar wanders quietly down the street, looking around at the bright lamps and thinking that he'd rather be out of town, and so heads for the closest town border, unaware that he's still got D in his clutches*

She walks willingly along with him, letting him lead the way. He's obviously thinking about something and so she doesn't say anything. Besides he just said "a walk" not a conversation. But as they start to move towards the city's exit curiousity overcomes her silence. "So where are we walking to?"

*he gives her a slight smile* I'm tired of streetlights. If you don't mind, I'd rather leave the buildings behind. *he looks off through the streets and contines to amble* You said you were angry with yourself for not beingable to convince me, but you need to understand that it was what I had to do. I couldn't stay if there was a chance of my hurting someone again. As for the world, well.... that's just the way it is. *he looks to the ground and speaks quietly* Do you mean to say that you really weren't angry? Would you really not care if I were gone?

She thinks a moment, she wanted to say that yes, she did understand that. It was a logical, rational action to leave. But if she had understood then she would have accepted his leaving as something that had to happen, right then on the spot. Instead her emtions got in the way and she had tried to convice him to stay, obviously she didn't really understand or didn't want to.
"I wasn't really angry but that doesn't mean I didn't care that you left. It was an action that saddened me more than anger me."
She wonders on a bit before adding. "You said I shouldn't care because I had plenty of others around, Sid and the other people at the shop. But just because you have other friends doesn't make it less sad when one leaves."

I know... I was only trying to make it easier. *he pauses and tries to arrange his thoughts* Really, though, I think it does. Imagine having one true friend, and then that friend leaving you for good. Don't you suppose that would be more depressing than if you had many? *he looks over at her expectantly*

"Easier? Would you have prefered that I be angry rather than sad?"
She looks at him, slightly annoyed. "Well yes, because then you'd be all alone. I meant..." Her expression softens, "well having other friends around would help but it wouldn't remove all your sorrow. Especially if that friend was one who you felt closest to. Enjoyed their company of the most."

*he watches her with a quiet, unwavering gaze* Maybe. To be truthful.. I'm not sure what I'd prefer. Part of me wants for you not to feel anything at all, another wants for you to feel at least.. something. *he realizes that he's had her by the hand the entire time and quickly removes himself* Sorry...

Fyrn ducks out of the alley he was in, then realizes who those people are, and ducks back in - he was helping some of his furred friends... BUT, he wasn't supposed to be out this late. Ever. Especially on the weekeneds. He SHOULD have been inside, and asleep.

She hadn't even realised he had been holding her hand but now he had let go she felt kinda awkward. "What? Oh nevermind." She shoves her hands into her pockets.
"Well I can please one part of you. I did feel 'something' when you left but it was regret not anger." She watches him stare at her a moment before giving a small smile and turning to look up at the stars. "Didn't think I'd ever see that toothy grin again."

Ah. So it was my grin that you would miss, is it? *he looks down at his feet and smirks a little* I suppose it's rather confusing, what I said. I'm sorry. I don't know my own mind sometimes. Anyway, I'm sorry for it all the same, making you feel regret, I mean. I don't know what that might mean to you...

Fyrn trails along behind them, once they pass, trying to be as silent as he can, tail wagging.

"Well I'll forgive you for it, this time." She grins. "Only because you made me pleased with your return."
She looks over at him, "you have returned right? All that about leaving if you're not wanted wasn't true was it? You know no one wants you to leave right?"

*nar walks along and listens to the quiet pattering behind them* Yes, I'm back for now. I was quite serious about leaving, though. I wouldn't stay if I was wanted gone. It might seem kind of silly, but I had this awful sensation that I wouldn't be wanted when I came back. I suppose it's a little silly.

D plods on, oblivious to their stalker. "Really? Who wouldn't want you around? I hope you don't mean me. After all that fuss trying to convince you to stay it had the opposite effect?"

No, it's not that. Like I said, I was being silly. Only, it seemed that I made a lot of people upset before I left. I talked to them with the purpose of straightening things out and it had just the opposite effect. *he sighs and looks around him. By now they've made it out of town and are headed along a road through the emerald grass made frosty by the moonlight. He leaves the road and starts up a hill, listening to be sure that Fyrn is still around*
