One had to feel sympathy for the poor fae. Here he was, alone, traveling with three toddlers and a rather clingy infant, the poor man. Matthias sighed, keeping a tight grip on Milo's leash. The boy had proven he wasn't mature enough nor well-behaved enough to walk without one.
Milo was definately NOT a happy camper. The little boy kept running forwards, only to be yanked back by the leash, kind of like a paddle ball. He growled, glaring at his father. Stupid adult, sticking him on a stupid toddler harness. Ugh. He ran forward again, growling audibly as he was jerked back.
Aife walked beside her father, her hand gripped tightly onto the leg of his pants. She still wasn't sure what to make of her new siblings; Milo had already hit and bitten her, and currently was in possession of the dolly Miles had given her. She didn't like him at all. Loki, though....she wasn't sure yet. She'd been shying away from him, afraid he might do the same as Milo did.
Koloro clung to his father, dark brown eyes scanning the area wearily. Where were they? Where were they going? Why was that one on a harness? A scared and confused sniffle came from the boy as he buried his face in his father's shirt.

Risa had been informed just a moment before by her oldest, Miles, that Matth was on his way. And that he was bringing Loki, Milo, Aife and Kole. Well this would be interesting! The seelie was babysitting for her friend, and had both Samantha and Reiya over. Both twins had proven to be trouble makers, but Sammi was one of the worst behaved children she'd ever met. With the exception of said toddler's mother, of course.
Sammi wasn't really that bad, actually. She was just... Full of energy. Constantly. She never seemed to need a nap, and was immune to sunburn. She liked to be in the sunlight, constantly. She didn't like indoor activities and fought with her twin more often than not. And when she fought, she shot sparks in her sister's direction.
Which usually caused a peal of thunder to resound throughout the house. Reiya was just as good at fighting as her sister was. And though they weren't fighting at the moment, (and this was only because Miles had promised they would be able to meet their cousins, and had told Sammi that she better be good because Kitty was coming,), there was an air of hostility between them.
Ellie on the other hand, had swung the door open. She was waiting patiently for her newly named Daddy, as well as the siblings she'd waited for. "Loki an Milo coming!" She said brightly, though she disliked the sound of Milo very much. She disliked Sammi too, when it came to that. But only because Sammi liked burning her.
~~~ Loki was looking towards his twin with mild amusement. So Daddy didn't like Milo better! Daddy had put Milo on a leash, just like a puppy! And Loki knew quite a lot about puppies; animals seemed to follow him whereever he went. "Daddy, we there yet?" He couldn't help it, he wanted to see Mommy. Maybe play another prank on her, too. That'd be fun. Especially if Daddy didn't catch him at it! Then he could blame it on Milo.
Matthias nodded. "We are almost there. I can already see Risa's domicile from here." He looked forward, gently tugging Milo back as the lad darted forward again for the umpteenth time.
Aife peeked around Matthias' leg timidly, looking at her younger brother curiously. She'd be safe with Daddy here, right? She clung to him a bit tighter, just in case. He didn't seem as violent as Milo; that was good.
Milo was busy gnawing at the leash, attempting to chew his way through it. Being compared to a puppy wasn't a bad analogy for the boy. "Want off!" he declared, bellowing his command at his father who, in turn, paid him no heed. Stupid adult!
Koloro sniffled as his new brother yelled, a small bleat coming from him. Black haired boy was scary!
"See Mommy's house!" Loki cried, pointing to the neatly painted yellow house. It did have a welcoming feel to it, at least in Loki's opinion. The halfling fae liked brighter colors. "Come on, Daddy!" And because he wasn't tied down to a leash, ran down the sidewalk and towards it. "Mommy!" But instead of Risa, he bumped into Ellie.
The green skinned toddler frowned, and pushed him away. "No, Loki. Bad." She scolded him with a shake of a finger. "Mommy! Loki here! Daddy and ress coming!" She pointed out the door unnessarily, for both Risa and Miles had seen them. As had Sammi.
"Kitty!" The pigtailed toddler ran towards the group, her arms spread out wide. Once or twice she stumbled, but that didn't stop her. She was speeding headlong in the bull-like fashion her mother always got after her for. She reached them. "Kitty kitty! Hi Kitty!" Then she seemed to notice Milo, and her smile grew if that was possible. "Little Kitty!" Here was a Kitty who was just her age! Just the right size for hugs! But she wouldn't hug him just yet, not until she'd introduced herself. "I Sammi," she told Milo with a smile. "What your name, Little Kitty?"
Matthias smiled lightly. "Hello, Sammi." he said, an mild hint of amusement crossing over his features. Little ones were ever so entertaining at that age, so who could possibly blame him?
Milo blinked, a smaller frown on his face. Who was this odd person? "I Milo, and I not kitty." he said, his tone huffy. He did NOT look like a stupid kitty! Daddy, maybe, but him? Absolutely not!
Aife blinked, looking at the odd green person. Who was that? She hadn't seen them before! But she didn't look too nice....she just pushed Loki. That was bad. She hung back, staying close to her father, where it was safe.
Sammi gave Matthias a bright smile, before looking back at Milo. "Hi Milo Kitty!" she said, apparently ignoring the statement that he wasn't a kitty. Of course he was a kitty! And that's when she came to the realization. She had two Kitties now! Well counting Jaella, she had three. But two boy Kitties! Sammi took hold of Milo's hand, smiling. "Come on Milo Kitty! We go play! I show you fire!"
Ellie made her way towards Aife, not noticing that her new older sister was afraid. "Hi! What your name?" She asked, tilting her head slightly.
"Mommy!" Loki cried, looking up at Risa and tugging on the seelie's jeans. "Mommy!" He raised his arms, ready for her to pick him up. Which she did, before covering a yawn with her hand. Loki found himself being balanced on his mother's hip, and frowned slightly. How could he prank her like this?
"Nice of you to join us, Matth," Risa teased, looking up at her fiancee. "Now we'll really have a party."
Reiya was avoiding the crowd, until she noticed Aife. Then a smile that could have outshined even her sister's came into view. "Aife!" She cried, dashing over to her friend. "Hi! Wan play?"
Milo was about to yank his hand away, to yell at this stupid kitty-obsessed girl. But then, she said one magical little word that changed his mind: fire. "You has fire?" he said, his eyes shining with admiration and envy. Fire was awesome. Fire was good.
Aife stared at her feet, kicking at the ground. The other girl gave off the same vibe as the grownups, so.... "I Aife, ma'am." she said, her voice quiet and polite. She looked up, smiling at Reiya. "Ai, Weiya." she greeted, smiling slightly. She answered her question with a nod.
Koloro sniffled, bleating a bit. It was loud, and there were a lot of people, and why wasn't Daddy making them go away? He curled up, trying to hide amongst his father's shirt.
Matthias smiled, hugging the little reindeer boy close. "Yes. Looks like we will be having our hands quite full, it seems." he said, looking at all the children around them.
"I got lots and lots of fire!" Sammi bragged, leading Milo into Miles' playroom. Then she closed her fist, and opened it. There was a small flame there, sitting in her palm. "See, Milo Kitty? I got lots. I never get buwned." Then she leaned forward, and giggled. "I tell Milo Kitty's Daddy if he bad, I buwn him," she confided. "I puniss bad people. You not bad, Milo Kitty. I like you. I no buwn you. No worry!"
Ellie blinked. Never in her short life had she been called ma'am. And she didn't like it. Not one bit! "I Ellie, not ma'am," she explained with a forced smile. "Aife a pwetty name. We be fwiends!" It never came to Ellie that this wasn't how one made friends.
Reiya smiled brightly, and took her friend's hand. "Ellie play wiff us," she told Aife with a slight frown, showing her displeasure at having to share her friend. "She your sister."
Risa smiled, shaking her head slightly. "Don't worry, I know how to keep them busy," she told him, handing him a brightly colored blob in a bag. "Play dough," she explained with a grin. "I don't know about Miles, he's harder. I think you'll have to handle that."
Milo had a look of sheer awe on his face. A girl....who could make fire? Amazing! He just nodded, offering a half smile as she spoke. He wasn't really listening, but was trying to act like he was. "How you do that?" he asked, still enthralled by the fire. The little pyromaniac looked up at her, now giving her his attention.
Aife just nodded. "Sorry, Ellie." she apologized, sure she did something wrong. She smiled lightly, nodding. "Okay." She listened to Reiya, then looked back to Ellie. "Sister?" She didn't know she had any of these sister things. Interesting.
Matthias smiled; he had no idea what Play-Doh was, but with that bright of colors, he was sure that it could keep the kids busy. "Oh? Perhaps he could help me with my endeavors to teach Koloro how to speak." he said, thinking.
Sammi didn't seem to notice that he wasn't listening, and smiled at him. "I dun know how," she admitted with a slight frown. "I think buwn, and it come. Can Milo Kitty do stuff? Bet Milo Kitty got weal cool thing!" She paused, and looked at him. "Milo Kitty? You gots pwetty eyes."
Ellie shook her head. "No be sorry, Aife. It kay," she patted her new sister on the shoulder. "It kay. We fwiends. We sisters. Oor Daddy an my Mommy get mawwied!" She told her excitedly. "We be flower giwls!"
Risa gave her mate a charming smile. "I think he'd like to help with that," she said, looking to Miles. Her son only frowned, knowing what his mother was up to. Another bonding hour. Joy. Well, at least he could ask Matth if he could call him dad yet.
"I'd like to hang out with Kole, sure," Miles said with a smile towards the boy. "Remember me, Kole? Stupid flowers?"
Milo shook his head. He hadn't discovered his ability yet, unfortunately. He frowned; it wasn't fair! She got something cool, and he was stuck with nothing! He blinked, her compliment reaching his ears. Pretty eyes? A look of confusion spread across his face; he had no idea how to respond to that, and his face clearly showed this.
Aife looked confused again. Married? Flower Girls? She didn't know these terms, but apparently they were good. "Okay..." she said, her tone uncertain. She didn't want to ask about them; she didn't want to look any stupider than she already did.
Matthias nodded, offering Miles a small smile. "Thank you. I appreciate that." he said, his tone polite.
Koloro peeked out, recognizing the familiar face. "Tupid fl'rs." he mumbled quietly, still clinging to his father as tightly as his tiny hands could.
Sammi giggled at his expression, before patting his shoulder. "It okay, Milo. You find your power soon," she told him with a nod. The wisest kind a toddler could give. And had she just called him Milo? That must have been a slip. She'd been attatching the 'Kitty' on to his name since she'd met him. "We be fwiends, Milo kitty?" Being Thali's daughter, Sammi was more... Scratch that. She was prone to having crushes, and Milo just happened to be her second one, if only because he looked like her first.
Ellie smiled and looked over to Reiya. "Weiya a flower giwl too!" She told Aife excitedly. "And Sammi! Sammi a flower giwl too! Miles say so!"
Reiya nodded at Aife, "We flower giwls togetter." She paused, and looked up at her Aunt. Unlike Matthias, who didn't seem to realize that Risa was planning something, Reiya could tell. "Auntie Wisa got plan," she muttered, leaning in to Aife's ear.
Miles smiled at Kole. "That's right," he paused and looked up at Matthias. "I promise I didn't teach him that. Josh did."
Matthias sighed, hearing what his son said. Oh gods.... "Well, it is a start." he said, shrugging and making a mental note not to leave Kole with Josh again.
Koloro giggled, having no idea what the words he said meant. He just knew they made people smile, so they had to be good, right? Of course!
Milo looked at Sammi wearily. Friends? What was that? Was that some kind of trick? Was she trying to get him to lower his guard? He looked at her with a suspicious gaze, trying to decide what her motives were. He highly doubted it was out of actually liking him; she had to have some other reason. Maybe she wanted to steal his awesome clothes because hers were lame?
Aife just nodded, forcing a small smile. "Kay. Be fl'er girls gether." she said softly. She then blinked, looking up to her ori-to-be. "Plan?" she asked, not knowing that it was supposed to be secret.
Miles grinned up at his future father, before looking to Kole. "You know more words than that, I know you do. Josh was bragging about teaching you how to talk," he said, patting the infant on the head. "Oh, Matth. I have a question." Miles didn't wait for permission to ask it, either. "When can I call you Dad?"
Sammi was oblivious to Milo's thought process, and offered him a warm smile. She honestly did like Milo, there was no hidden motivation in her eyes. "We play game, Milo Kitty?" she asked, tilting her head slightly. "Fwiends play games." She silently wondered if he'd like Candyland or Shoots n Ladders best.
Reiya smiled brightly at her friend, ignoring her auntie's plan by now. It was old news. "Auntie Wisa make play-doh for us!" she said with another smile. She pointed to the coffee table that was currently filled with bags of brightly colored dough.
Koloro smiled as he was patted on the head. True, while he could repeat words, that didn't mean he understood them. The only word he really understood was "ball", which was the evil, sinister rubber spheres of evil that tried to hurt him.
Matthias blinked at the question, then sighed. "I suppose you may call me that now, if you wish." he said, sounding oh SO thrilled. Parental titles were going to take some getting used to; he could already tell.
Milo still looked at her through a narrowed, suspicious gaze. "Game...?" he asked, eying her warily. His idea of a game was "bite the person and run like hell". Hey, if she wanted to play that, he wouldn't object as long as he was the one doing the biting and running.
Aife looked, confused. Play-doh? What was that. She toddled over to the colorful lumps, giving them an experimental poke. What was this stuff? What was it for? And why did it smell funny?
