A chic nightclub and bar, The Metropolis is a favorite among the younger crowds of Veratians, no matter the race. In all it's years of business, it has never failed to draw in a sizable crowd with its fantastic food and drinks, aswell as music, dance floor, and atmosphere. It is a great place to meet people who share the same passion for dancing and socializing.

An overly attractive orange-haired young man sat at the bar, nursing something that looked rather like blue gel but was instead an expensive alcoholic beverage that the alien bartender made for him. The crazy looking being crossed his arms skepticly, hardly believing that this young human male could imbibe his culture's hardest drink.

But Diesel swallowed all of it without a flinch. Even though the stuff oozed down his throat, burning like an open flame. The burning helped to clear his mind of the incident at the racing circuit. The people who helped him - their strange ability to do everything flawlessly. It made him angry.

But more than angry, it made him curious. Were they aliens? They certainly looked human, but he knew that there were many species who did but were still alien. Maybe they were some new refugees, but he doubted it.

The fast dance music was playing a pulse in the back of Cosettes head, even from several blocks away, only getting louder as the hover-taxi landed infront of the building, people mulling infront of the dark doors flanked by a single bodyguard in a black suit that looked like he was only half human. The neon sign was purple and blue, hanging above the door and proudly proclaiming that this was The Metropolis. However, that was sort of obvious without even looking at the sign.

A long line of wildly and colorfully dressed people stood outside a red velvet roping, waiting for their ids to be approved and to be let inside, and the line was moving slow. Cosette payed the taxi driver, and using her natural Superhuman prescence, moved through the group of people like clockwork, the bunch of the normal humans parting in shoals for the stylishly dressed and heeled young woman. She ignored soft protests of the patrons as she tipped her head back and smiled at the guard, who after a moment, smiled back and pulled the rope aside to let her in with a deep-based " Good evening, Miss Ravencroft," to which she nodded and made her way in.

It enchanted her, really, to watch the throngs of people dancing and socializing all around the night club, yelling against the loud music until they moved into the protected space of the bar and could talk in normal voices, eventually becoming a bit hoarse from all the shouting and harsh drinks they consumed in copious amounts. The music was loud, the people were many, and the drinks were flowing freely- her kind of environment.

She moved over to the bar, propping herself up in a chair down near the end where she could observe everyone without problem and greeted the bartender with a cheery " Hello, Adam. Hows the wife been?" They seemed to know eachother, a fact all the more apparent when 'Adam' picked the conversation up with good cheer.
" Oh, she's 'een fine. Bit 'o cold this month gone, bu' nothin' she cain't 'andle." His accent was nearly unintelligible, but it seemed she could understand it perfectly.

" Tha' 'ould be tha usual, then, Cosette?" He asked, already filtering out several potent liquids into a tall, bubbly glass. Cosette grinned, an expression equated with a cat that had 'gotten into the cream' or a sly fox.

" Oh, you know me too well, Adam." She said, receiving the drink and downing a quarter of it in one go, an action that would usually have unexperienced drinkers coughing and choking or the lightweight going unconscious in one blow.

Diesel did a painfully obvious double-take when he noticed the girl from earlier sitting not much farther down the bar than he was. Once he caught himself staring, he straightened his racing jacket hastily and returned to inspecting the chasing lights going around the bar. To test his reflexes, every time one of the small LEDs lit up underneath his finger, he tapped the bar's surface. This was one of the more interesting materials that had been developed lately. The transparent plastic-like bar top reacted to touch, sending out subtle ripples that looked a lot like the old fossil-oils when they covered the surface of water.

He missed the next two taps, watching as Cosette ordered something bubbly. It looked better than the slime he was having. How should he react now? Should he indicate that he remembered who she was? Should he just point blank ask her what she was and end the damned questions his brain was frying over?

He settled for ordering another blue gooey thing.

Cosette was, of course, very aware of Diesel, having recognized him instantly from this afternoon after her encounter
and subsequent saving of his arse. She adopted an even more sly smile and winked at Adam before jerking her head
very lightly towards Diesel where he poked the bar in an effort to ignore her, being very conspicuous in the motion aswell.

Adam grinned at the white haired woman, then prepared the twin of her drink, mixing alcohols
and flavoring of red, yellow, and blue, which fizzled into a bubbly mixture, before
sending it down towards Diesel with a practiced flick of his wrist. Cosette delicately turned her
face towards her drink and hid her smile in her cup, running her fingers along the bar and making quickly-fading design in the blue plastic.

"Oi, Old man. This isn't what I ordered!" Diesel complained as the bartender slid the drink towards him. "I wanted that gooey-Oh...." His rant died off as Adam inclined his head to where Cosette was sitting. "Girly drink?" He asked, wrinkling his nose in distaste. A young female alien - very pretty, Diesel thought - giggled and jabbered at him in some crazy language that sounded much like cooing and gargling. His alarmed expression only made her giggle more as she slid her arms around his shoulders.

"Faaariy gurrrrly" She cooed in his ear. "eeef your gurrrl eees a monstuuur."

He shuddered as her prehensile-like tongue grazed his ear before she moved away to join some of her friends on the dance floor.

"That's exactly what I was wondering myself..." He mumbled quietly before swallowing something that felt similar to his blue goo going down, but was definitely easier to swallow.

Cosette found it hard to swallow a sharp laugh as her keen eyes took in his uncomfortable expression after that female alien left. She also found her 'monster' comment a bit funny, as many would personify her kind that way if they didn't understand them, which many didn't. Many didn't know about them, the Supers, since they kept their abilities secret from the public eye.

She quickly downed the rest of her drink, and after ordering another, decided to stand and slunk over to where he was with a cattish look of delight on her face.
" Girly? Why, I'm insulted." She slipped delicately into a chair next to him, sending a split second predatory glance over her shoulder at a cluster of girls who had been staring at Diesel, and reacting on pure basic instinct with the feeling she gave off in that moment, dispersed. They weren't to be disturbed.

' Not that much of them have a chance, appearance-wise.' She thought, no stranger to vanity, and with good reason. Her dress and heels had been perfectly picked by her own hand, and the lights flickered gold, red, yellow and blue across her white hair, highlighting facial features and curves that she was rather fond of.

He raised his eyebrow the least bit of an inch and grunted in a way that was half laughter, half groan. "Listen. Someone hands me something bubbly like this at a bar and I assume one of two things: It's drugged, or it's meant for a fairy. Either way, I'm not keen on the idea." Despite his statement, though, he decided to finish the elixir. It would be rude to waste a gift.

"So what are you doing here? Your friends nearby? Going to try to force some poison down my throat and call it 'medicine' again?" He was still bitter that Nash had forced him to take what Cosette had given him. Much to his disappointment it worked, and he couldn't gloat over the fact that he hadn't needed it.

Cosette smirked, pulling her red lips over white teeth.
" Perhaps, if it's really needed." She knew his ribs were no longer hurting by the way he was sitting; in a way that was much more straight rather than slumped around the offending pain.

" And no, my friends are not nearby, I'm on my own. You've got me all to yourself, lucky you." There was a sly smile in her voice somewhere. She downed the rest of her drink without showing any effects from the strong mixture of liquor on her face, then set down the empty glass, quickly swiping her lips with her tounge to get rid of any residue.

She spun her swiveling chair a bit to face him fully with her legs crossed at the knee, but she looked past him, scanning the crowd of dancers with a practiced eye while she waited for his undoubtedly inquisitive personality to kick in.

He narrowed his eyes. "What are you?"

He didn't expect her to answer. It wasn't a simple question, it wasn't even very polite. The noise level in the club meant that they wouldn't be overheard, however, except by maybe the barman and what did he care who she was. After all, he'd probably heard crazier stories than whatever she would tell Diesel. That freaky chick who had just licked his ear was one prime example of freaky. Cosette was no where near as weird.

Her first response was to smile and tap the bar with the flat of her palm, the signal for another drink that quickly made its way down her to waiting hand. She lifted it to her mouth and drank it slowly, keeping his eyes while she savored the stinging sensation and rich flavor as
the bubbly drink went down her throat. She was beguiling, and she knew that.
She set her half-full glass back down and pulled her lips across her mouth in her typical 'come-hither' smile that she used when dealing with the opposite sex.
" Well, lets see." She tapped her chin with a finger and pretended to think hard on the question. She quite suddenly grinned and adressed him again.

" Female, 24 years of age, five feet and eight inches tall, white hair, red eyes and.." She stood to her feet and did one spin for him under the dancing lights. Her hair spun in a wave before coming to rest on her shoulders, slightly messy and highlighting her face.

" Unfairly sexy." With that, the Super went off, left the bar area and headed towards the dance floor. She gave him one backwards glance and smirk that said ' You can come if you want to.' and was then in the throng of dancing Humans and Aliens.

Diesel was infuriated. His pride refused to allow her to blatantly ignore the question she must have known he had meant. And now it seemed to him like the only way to get any information from her was to follow her into a pit of vipers.

Human girls, Alien girls. They were all the same bloodthirsty deamons as far as Diesel was concerned. Whenever he tried to tell Nash about it, the other man would just laugh and roll his eyes and lay a heavy hand on Diesel's shoulder. "My friend, don't be so quick to criticize the single women. The married ones are twice as vicious."

But the curiosity of exactly who Cosette was naggled at his brain, and so he followed her into the fray of bodies swinging against each other. It was a bit of a distraction, the physical proximity, but though her body was alluring, he knew his was too, and here he could use his race-hardened body to his advantage.

"That wasn't the answer I was looking for." He prompted in a low growl at her ear.

Her back to him and nearly flush with what she knew to be his chest, she grinned.
" Oh, I know. But where's the fun in telling you right off, hmm?" She turned her head so her chin was over her shoulder and smirked.
" I see what you were given earlier healed you right up. How fortuitous for me." She turned to face him, which was quite the feat, seeing as they were so closely pressed to eachother via the dancing assemblage.
" You should avoid getting in trouble, though. It isn't wise."

"Tsch. Who cares about what's "wise." The wise-asses on the circuit get themselves killed because they're too busy thinking about what they're going to do to actually do it." Tactfully, he pressed back into the crowd, pushing their bubble out a little. Something about her voice told him that being near her for any period of time could be dangerous. She sounded used to giving people the "avoid being in trouble" speech.

"So let's pretend you answered my question this time, and I moved on to a new one. Did you follow me here or is this meeting a coincidence" which I'm certain it isn't, he added in thought. He felt hands scraping at the back of his jacket and at his jeans, pulling on the belts hung crossed over his hips.

Cosette smirked and moved forward again to look around him and raise a single white brow at the alien female scrabbling at him. She meet the Superhumans red eyes for only a split second and then dissapeared into the crowd. Cosette looked up at him again and reached her hands up to smooth out the collar of his jacket where it had become askew. Her little white fingers brushed along the dark edge of the jacket and occasionally the skin of his neck, cool against the heat of his skin.

" Don't flatter yourself, darling. Just because I saved you twice doesn't mean I'm following you anywhere. I'm old friends with the owner of this place, so I get in free, and this is a place I like to go when the fancy strikes me to be surrounded by people, which is fairly often. And so, here we are."

Another one of her alluring, beguiling smiles as the song changed to something less hyper active. People began to file off the dance floor and Cosette did the same. She darted over to the bar momentarily to get a pair of drinks and then back over to place one in his hand.
" I think I'm going to get some air." She turned and wove in and out of the crowd towards a pair of glass doors that led to a small patio which no one currently occupied before dropping off into an alley way some three stories below.
