Ok, I'm almost 100% certain (how many times have I said that!) now that my first guitar project will be a travel guitar. I'll basically take a short-scale guitar similar to this Squier Mini And modify the body and headstock beyond recognition to come up with something like this: I really want to hear some opinions on this, any suggestions are welcome and requested, whether its a comment or suggestion about the body or headstock shape, ideas about stuff to change or add or whatever, just TELL ME! This is a constantly changing design and I want the guild's input. Just remember that the whole point of these mods is to make the thing as short in length as humanly possible.

Looks sexy but I'd put an indent on the curve on the top of the body if that makes any sense.

I've seen small travel guitars for sale, unless you just want to make one of your own. In that case, i'd say Maybe round off the bottom and make the top into more of a Point maybe.

xd
I have to admit, it does have a certain feel to it... Smooth.
And travel guitars seem pointless to me. I'm not much of a travelling person. I'd rather pack up my guitar in a case and take it with me.

hmm I'd probably add more shape to the top sheerly for asthetic reasons xd . Like give it more of an indent and make the corner a little more pointy, that kind of thing. I dunno, but I think it's a little too square.

Nah I'm sticking with the rosewood on this one.
As for buying a travel guitar - they are WAY too expensive for something I just want to be able to toss in my bag with my Fender mini amp and go somewhere. I take bi-weekly trips to my mother's place (joint custody - divorced parents), and It's just a pain in the a** for me to schlep my Tele there all the time. Sooooo I'm'a purchase this guitar (way less expensive than a traveler's, only 100$!), and just mod the hell out of it. Schlap those Teisco pickups in it, cut the body down a few sizes (its an already tiny body, but i want that b***h MINISCULE!), and cut a few inches off the headstock.
I'm working on design number two, this time complete with an upper horn.

I hate being limited by that damn jack and switch. If worse comes to worse and I absolutely cant find a good design, I might have to fill in the hole and relocate the jack.

Unless your going to Cut off signifigantly large portions of the fret board, it will still be quite long.

I'm just thinking how that thing will nose dive when played. You may want to weight the bottom of the body down or cut a shitload off the head.
Why not go for a Parker style head? They're pretty darn cool.

It was seeing a maple necked strat, namely Eric Clapton's Over the Rainbow strat, that got me into guitar in the first place. Also Ash, you smell for not using maple. scream
