I saw a picture of a character from the anime Code Geass and she was holding some sort of pistol, energy or otherwise, and it had a sort of nub protruding from the back over her hand. This isn't the picture, but it features the same gun:  I know there was a pistol that preceded the Luger that had a system with the feeding action put back further over the web of the hand (it's exceptionally unattractive) but it made me think: why hasn't anyone done anything with that idea in a while? It would work like a bullpup, allowing a longer barrel and sight radius for the same length protruding from the grip. The longer traveling distance for the slide might reduce recoil, and slide bite wouldn't be an issue. What are your thoughts on this design?

Desert_Fox_Rommel That's the first German gun I've ever seen that I've thought was ugly. Very ugly yes, very interesting design yes. You can tell that it's a mix between the Luger and the C96.

Since the Borchardt C-93 predates both the Luger and the Mauser C96, no.
It's more like their mishapen elderly grandfather, who somehow through the magic of Gun-Genetics, gave birth to two beautiful little pistols.

You should turn yourself into the Inquisition, willingly of course.
Potential redemption can be granted by informing us which gun designs you DO like.
