Out in the forest, under a tall brown tree slept a small brown and green Faun-teen. She almost blended into the roots of the tree and the surrounding grass. The girl snored softy as she dreamed of climbing hills and hiking.
Soon a brown eye opened and looked around. The teen faun shifted and yawned. It was a relaxing nap. She shook herself to get the blood going and sat up. What to do now?

Kieran...couldn't explain why the forest called to him as it did. And so he goes there now, his eyes toward the misty distance and not right in front of him. When the green-and-brown girl stands up suddenly just to his left he jumps, startled.
"Whaaai!" he exclaims. "Who're you?"

Seda jumped as the male faun yelled. Her hand flew to her mouth. "Se-Seda. Who are you?" She asked as she stayed close the the tree for protection. She had met a few other fauns when she was a baby, but hadn't actually been near one as a teen. There just didn't seem to be as many around the isle.

"Kieran," he says, relaxing slightly. Good Christ, what was with women popping up around him and scaring the bejeezus out of him? Still, he'd only had very minimal contact with Pae that looked like him. And she's a girl. And a very pretty girl, at that.
Mildly transfixed, he tilts his head gently to the side as he watches her. "What're you doing in the forest?"

"Sleeping." The accent her point she yawned and raised her hands in a stretch. "I love to be near the trees." Seda smiled at the teen faun. She then looked up the tree and then back to the teen.
"What are you doing?" He had asked her the same question so she thought it only fair. "Do you love the trees too?"

"Um, I think so," says Kieran, looking up. He leans on a tree, attempting to look suave and sophisticated. "I've never really been to the forest before today...mostly been in town and on the beach."

"Really? I so love the forest. I just love to bee around green things." She had picked up this love from her adopted mother Ivy, the Elder of Flora. Ivy had taught her many things about the plants. She had learn to love them as much as Ivy did. "What do you do in town?" She hadn't gone there yet.

"Oh, I dunno," says Kieran with a casual shrug. "Wander around, talk to people, I guess. I don't go there often, really. I mostly hang by the beach." He tries a winning smile.

"Any interesting paes?" She sat down under the tree. She smiled as she felt the cool damp dirt under her. She loved that feeling. "How's the beach?" She had 't gone there much either, she was more of a woodsy girl.

"Well, the beach is nice," begins Kieran. "Once of my favorite places to go. The sea just has this...raw energy that attracts me, somehow. I used to spend entire days there, building sandcastles and drawing in the sand." He smiles, hoping his passion for nature would come across well.
He sits down opposite the pretty faun girl. "I can't say I've met many interesting Pae, I suppose my caretakers Elizabeth and Amapola are nice enough, but Amapola's been busy lately with the children, and Elizabeth is just...quiet."
He smiles even bigger. "Although, I think I may have met a very interesting faun lately."

"Really? Building sandcastles?" That sounded neat. What were castles? She would have to try that sometime! The raw energy of the waves? She would have to see them soon.
Seda blushed as he called her interesting and she took that as a complement. "Well, thank you! You seem pretty interesting yourself. Ivy, my adopted mom, she talks to trees and plants so I learned really quickly to respect them."

Oof. For such a pretty girl she really isn't much of a conversationalist, thinks Kieran. Unlike himself. Still, he'd gotten himself into this, might as well keep putting his charm on.
"Why thank you," he says with a suave grin. "Talks to plants, mm? What would they say?" He'd been practicing his own talent, which seemed far more practical than talking to plants.

"Oh plants and trees have so much to tell you. They are very wise...and actually very gossipy." Seda laughed at the last part. "Mother Ivy learns a lot about the isle from the gossip the trees spread. Most of it is true though.
"She doesn't just talk to plants, she helps them grow. We have a HUGE greenhouse by our house in the Fae Clearing." She smiled to Kieran. "Hey do you want to see it or go to the beach?" She was excited to do either now.

"The greenhouse sounds interesting; let's go there," says Kieran eagerly. Really he isn't sure that he wants to share his precious beach with anyone yet.
"Gossiping trees, eh?" asks Kieran with a chuckle. "Wonder what they have to say about me."

"Ok, I can show you all our special plants." Mother Ivy grew plants there that didn't grow anywhere else on the Isle. It was a wonderfully magical place. Seda could spend hours there looking at everything.
"Well, I don't know. I will ask Mother Ivy, when I see her next." She stood up and started walking in the Fae Clearing's direction, since that was where the greenhouse was. "Should I be worried?" She asked in a playful tone.
