I am downloading some new sheet music for me to play and it is all for Piano, But I play the Alto. Saxophone. Is Piano Sheet music the same as Alto Saxophone, or do i need to go up or down an octave?
Someone Please help. I want to play this music as soon as possible.

You need to transpose the music, since alto sax doesn't play in concert key. (Like, how concert Bb is G, Eb is C, etc.) I don't know if there's a really set method of doing it, because I usually do it in my head, but you just move the note down three half steps. So, a G in the music you downloaded you should play as an E.

Like Terra said, alto sax is in Eb; piano is in C. So you'd need to transpose if you want it in the right key.
I mean, you could still play it in the key it's written in. All the intervals would still be the same, it'd just be in a different key and might not sound quite right to you. That kind of thing doesn't bother me, but I know it drives my friend Mandy insane because she has perfect pitch.

Although, I had a flute piece in the key of G, I transposed it for the sax, then I played it as it was written for flute. I liked it better. So try both, and then whichever key you like it in, play it that way.

There's a three semitone difference. You'll have to raise all the notes three semitones, so if there's a G, change it to Bb.

(Because piano is concert, and the concert Bb scale is G for alto) If the music is alto sax, transpose up. Ya... I think that's right, because when I do the circle of fourths, I start with "0 sharps" and that's A major, (Which actually has 3) And A is three semitones below C, so you go up three semitones to play it on piano.
