Where did your spark of interest of U2 come from?

While growing up, my mom would play U2 all the time, but I was just a little kid and didn't really take interest in them. But last year when iPod had thier comercial on TV with U2 playing Vertigo, I was like 'Whoa! This song is cool! Who is this band?' This is round about the time when 'How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb' came out, and my mom got the deluxe CD (with book and DVD), and we would just play it over and over, and I was just lovin' it!! Then my mom got the 'Rattle And Hum' DVD and I was glued to U2 for life.

U2 has followed me for my entire life. I was born on the year that The Joshua Tree came out. xd
At any rate, I recently became hooked to U2 because I was listening to a Chris Tomlin song... and the guitar intro reminded me of U2. So, I went and downloaded/bought five songs.
... and I got some more.
And some more.
And some more.
Then I decided I was going to be Bono for Halloween. xd

Their music has been part of my life since I was a little girl. If it wasn't my cousins hearing it it was my father. Plus, they were on MTV when MTV was good. It's just been U2 for life for me, and it always will be smile

U2=music that would be playing when I woke up in the morning and my mom was cleaning house. My mom was ALWAYS cleaning house. Therefore, U2=childhood

I first fell in love with U2 when their Beautiful Day video was playing on VH-1, early one morning before I had to leave for school, right when the video first came out. Then I went through an obsession stage and bought all their CDs within a year. Every since then I've always been a little crazy about them.

I first got into U2 when Joshua Tree came out (yes, I'm older than most of you). I really loved the video for Desire.

Newyearsday
On Newyearsday, i heard a U2 song for the first time. It was the song "Newyearsday". Thats why that is my favorite song. From the first time i heard them, i was completly obsessd.
Its thanks to my mom, who is also, since her 16th. She went to a concert when seh was pregnant of me, and gave me a Irish name, wich means 'War'

I've know about U2 since I was born...but what sparked my interest was a few years ago when I was listening to the War album at a friends house.
