It had taken a bit longer than he'd meant it too but Eli had finally found time to drag himself out to Farstep to see Faolan and his twins. The hunter didn't have a lot of knowledge about little kids so he figured seeing them would be interesting. Just when did babies stop sleeping all the time and start grabbing fistfuls of hair though? He'd rather his scalp remain unmolested. Either way Fao was something of a friend and Eli looked forward to seeing the other man again.


Uzi on the other hand no interest in weak defenseless babies, they were for other to pay attention to. She wanted to speak with Zia, to show of her new hands and perhaps go climbing again. Becoming an alter had changed Uzi in little ways but much of her remained as it had been before the shift.

" You could have worn something more.." Eli searched for a word" Covering." The redhead didn't think of himself as a horrible prude but he couldn't for the life of him find it entirely appropriate the things Uzi wore now. Especially not to go visit new parents. He had no idea why she worse such things either unless it was to make up for all the time she spent in near fullbody armor.

" I blend in," Uzi pointed out. There were people here wearing less than she was. Besides she was clothed enough to be appropriate without it being uncomfortable or hindering her range of motion.

Somehow it didn't surprise Eli at all that Fao was sleeping, the other man seemed even more laid back than he was. The again having twins probably sucked all the energy the man had out of him so it wasn't all that surprising he was tired. Either way the sight of the other man in the rocking chair brought a small smile to Eli's lips as he approached. He almost felt bad about needing to wake him.


Though her body had recently changed Uzi could still pick up Zia's scent before she saw it as well as the minute changes in it upon it's seeing her. She raised a hand and waved casually at the other. It was still and odd gesture to her but decidedly more friendly than what most she knew got. Though she was an alter herself now she still had respect for Ziazan as well as budding friendship. " Hello." Her voice lacked the powerful rumble it had once had but was now more smooth rich.

" I enjoy having hands" Uzi admitted with a predatory grin, those plus retractable claws meant she now had a whole new arsenal to use when doing her job. " I miss my armor though" she had kept tiny bits of it but it was wasn't going to do her much good. Especially not against that nameless one with his magic lightning. She was positive, despite what he had said, that her old armor would have defended her though and she would have won their fight. Well perhaps, she had to grudgingly admit he was incredibly swift even by her standards close up. Maybe a draw then.

Eli smiled at Zia and shook his head " Kell has an injured foot." It was nothing serious but the old hound had manged to cut the pad of his left front paw on a rock. Eli was trying to keep him from going too many places were he could get stuff in the cut if it reopened from the dog walking on it too much.

The man's green eyes gleamed with interest as Fao came out and spoke. " Really?" He wondered if Faolan had wanted company that bad.

"I was as surprised as you but I blend better now." Well aside from her gold markings anyways but she was rather fond of those. The young alters tail flicked lazily behind her. She flexed her fingers and shifted a bit from foot to foot, she felt like she had so much more energy now and that the world was furthered opened to her. There were more places she could go as an alter and alone at that.

"I'm bigger than you now," she mused. Technically she'd been bigger than him before in a way. Now though there was an obvious height difference, although she was nowhere near as tall as Eli or even the man's mother. Someday though.


" Not all dogs," Eli admitted. " But I'll give you any help I can." Was Faolan thinking he needed a guard dog now that the kids were born? Vaguely the red haired man also wondered if Zia had been speaking in general or is the essentic somehow knew Kell's injury was minor and would soon heal.

Uzi wondered briefly if Rhian would be small as well then, the butterfly proto had been small, well in body anyways with large wings. Before she could fully contemplate that though the long haired essentic dismissed all thoughts of the chatty and mostly useless other female. " Not yet but soon," She's stuck close to home initially as she tested our and came to learn the limits of her new form. " What interesting things? What purpose does school have for us?" Uzi already knew everything she needed to for her job. unless school here talked about the past or could teach her about souls she wasn't sure it would hold any use to her.

Eli's eyes slid over to watch the two alters. " School might be a constructive use of your time." They didn't hunt every day and Eli was starting to feel that some of Uzi's less wanted behaviors were a result of her not being accustomed to socializing or aware of what was and wasn't acceptable in general society. Besides, even he'd done public and high school.

His attention back on Fao, Eli looked thoughtful for a moment " Not specifically that I remember but I know a few that raise the right breeds for it, my father would know if they actually train them for it though." While Eli knew many other dog breeders in the area his father was more sociable with them and better aware of their operations. " I can ask him when I get home."

Uzi's golden eyes watched carefully as Faolan put his hand on Ziazan. It was an odd thing this friendly contact between them and she still only half understood it.

Uzi was somewhat shocked by Lauss going to school, the other essentic had always seemed smarter to her if lacking in practical knowledge. She still wasn't sure about this vague lots of stuffness but the animalistic alter figured it might not hurt to try it out for at least a day. Eli also seemed to be in favour of this school thing so Uzi would give it a trial. "I would like to see it at least for a day." If it proved of no use to her she could resume the pursuit of her answers elsewhere; likely by tracking down her magical trespasser.

Eli nodded his face a bit more solemn as he realized that Fao was not asking for a co worker but becuase of his own child. " That makes sense and I'll get the information to you as soon as I can." He promised. He couldn't imagine being a parent to a child with a disability like that, then again he relied utterly on his eyes for his profession so he was biased.

Uzi's ears flick in the direction of the men for moment and she process their exchange. Wouldn't it be better to cull the blind child? It was a souled being like all were but how well could it fulfill any duty in life, how might it complete and content said soul without the ability to see. To Uzi it seemed cruel to keep something crippled alive and ask it to adapt to being less than others.

Uzi was uncertain whether or not she was annoyed with that sudden touching of her hand. On the one hand she respected Zia even though she was now an alter herself. On the other she'd not given permission for her body to be touched and she was not generally kind about such things. She was no domestic animal to be pet. Her thoughts though were soon re-focused on the winged alter's words. " Humans and love are a strange combination," the golden eyed female murmured.

Eli nodded, "I can't remember the last time I saw a baby that didn't have four legs."

Uzi made a noise in her throat similar to her old rumblings, she wasn't actually interested at all in the babies but she'd agree to go see them briefly.
