Who: Toshiaki (Sephiros) & Rivener (Aphismet)
When: Just after lunch
Where: Downtown, amongst the cafes and coffeeshops
Weather: Delightfully mild with a passing breeze
The newborn Raevan was totally flummoxed. Now he wasn't quite sure what the word meant, but Wit had used it before, and Toshiaki rather thought that it applied to the situation. He was quite convinced that Wit had been here a moment ago, and the kitsune had only stopped to close his eyes for just a second, as he'd felt a bit drowsy. It seemed that his guardian had not noticed his impromptu nap and had thus wandered away. Now if only Toshi could remember where they had been heading. Already the baby Raevan had learned to tune out his caretaker when he began to ramble on, and now he was rethinking that little jewel of a strategy quite seriously. He'd never been out on the town at any prolonged length before, and peering through his meshed eyelashes at the mess of streets and shops, he remembered the blond saying something about heading downtown.
Downtown. Downtown meant those cute little shops where Wit got his tea...it meant cakes and windows full of pretty things. It also meant coffee. "Coffee..." He mused to himself, momentary alarm leaving him as he levitated forward, bouncing lightly, fingers twiddling with themselves in the manner of a child that cannot sit still. His head was tilted up just slightly, amber locks of hair sliding away from his face as his nose was lifted to the wind, sifting through the cornucopia of smells in search of the one that meant food.
Ah! That way! And so, he made a beeline for the strongest scent of that heavenly, caffeine-rich brew that he loved so much. Wit had only taken him into a coffee shop once, and Toshiaki could have lingered there indefinitely. Now, Wit wasn't here to drag him out by one arm under all sorts of sadly whuffling protests. All alarm had left him, and his ears were perked in anticipation of his first adventure, immature whim though it might be.

Rivener was not working today, but he'd told Aphi that he was. The Scorpion rather enjoyed going out, by himself, and pretending he was independant. He'd go to a movie, stop for lunch somewhere, and now he sat at a quaint little coffee shop with a large cup of delicious coffee and a magazine. Riv didn't get a full pay yet at the place he worked, but he got a few dollars here and there when his mentor felt generous. It was thanks to this money that Riv could do all this, and he had to admit it felt damned good to buy things with his own hard-earned cash.
Rivener was in a very good mood when something caught his eye. Coming closer to the modest terrace in front of the coffee shop was... A Raevan! "Another new one?! Where do they all pop out of?" Riv chuckled, putting his magazine down and leaning over the wrought-iron fence that marked the edge of the terrace. "Hey! Hello!... You're like me, aren't you? A Raevan! What are you doing here? Where's your guardian? What's your name?"
Realizing that he wasn't even sure yet if this newborn could SPEAK, Riv grinned and motioned the boy over, inviting him to sit. Ruby eyes glanced around for a guardian of any kind... None? Hmm... "Here, come talk with me!" Riv prompted again, smiling.

Nose still tilted to the winds, quite wrapped up in the near ecstasy-inducing scent of the roasted coffee beans and tantalizing brew, Rivener's voice jolted him quite suddenly out of his trance, and his ears swiveled to attention, perked in the direction of the new voice. Oh my! It was a Raevan! And quite a different one at that. This one had dark hair and he was...hrm...bigger? This one was bigger? What was that word that Wit had used anyway...?
Fingertips daintily brushing the fence, he smiled brightly at this new fellow, "H'llo!" He greeted, the word still not fully-formed on his lips. Putting a hand to his chest, he cocked head to one side in a puppyish fashion, bobbing about to come closer to Rivener. Wit had warned him about strangers, but a Raevan surely did not count amongst them, and Toshi had a habit of disregarding his bumbling blond guardian anyway. "Toshiaki." He introduced, that hand still indicating himself. The kitsune was rather proud, as he'd just recently been able to say his own name in full.
Situating himself near Rivener's own seat, he pursed his lips in mental pursuit of an explanation. "Guard'n got lost...Toshi got lost? But likes coffee...here coffee." A sage nod at that, as the logic was impeccable to the youngling, despite potential disaster that might have occurred due to separation from Wit.

Rivener grinned at the initial greeting. This one must be VERY new if he couldn't quite form the word "hello" yet. It was one of the first ones, usually! And yet the frei knew enough to be able to explain, in a somewhat broken and amateurish way, that he'd gotten lost and was looking for coffee. Toshiaki had moved around the fence to come near, sitting with Rivener casually. In a gesture of good will, Riv pushed his still-hot coffee towards the youth.
"Toshiaki, then. You can have that if you want! My name is Rivener." With a bow of his head, Riv introduced himself. "So tell me, Toshiaki, who is your guardian? Do you know a way to get in touch with him? We could try calling him, if he has a cellphone." It was probably bound to happen that frei would get lost and whatnot, but Riv never liked seeing his younger kin all alone. He knew first-hand the kind of freaks someone could encounter out here... Humans could be a scary lot. Hopefully this young one had a way to get back into his guardian's care easily. "Or maybe you know where he was going? I'd like to help you find him."
