Darcy, for once, wasn't worried about the future parent being late. She wasn't being impatient, nor was was she questioning her twin half to death. Why? Because the orange haired child was sleeping, curled up on a rock. A book lay on the ground beside her perch; someone had been reading before they fell asleep.
Aaron was left to wrangle the unruly child his sister had summoned forth. "Get back here!" he said, running after the tiny blonde. Why did he have to get stuck with all the difficult work? It wasn't fair!
Jae was heading up to the usual spot, cookies and a jug of lemonade on hand. She was sure they'd all be in need of refreshments, and it'd make a nice surprise. She smiled, humming to herself as she skipped along her merry little way.

Zee trudged along, until he found a suspicious looking cave that matched the description an equally suspicious looking purple haired girl had given him. "Hello?" He called, walking inside. He had no fear, he'd done worse than walk into a dimly lit cave. "I'm here for the meeting or whatever it is I'm here for."
The blonde toddler was frowning, and apparently searching for someone. "Thophie!" He called, looking through the cave. "Thophie, where are you?" Where was Sophie? He didn't want to be here! He wanted Ingary! He wanted his castle! He wanted---hey. "Calthifer!" he cried, running to a strange floating ball of fire. "Where are we?" The firedemon made no reply, only stared at his young master with wide eyes.
"Howl, I told you to be careful with your spells..." He began. The blonde toddler ignored him and went back to his search for the person called Sophie.

Aaron turned his head. Crap, the parent was here, and the kid had run off! What was he supposed to do. "Hello, sir." he said, his tone not betraying anything other than a warm welcoming. Okay, now was the time to stall and try to buy some time as he tried to figure out what to do.
The purple haired teen came from inside of the caves; there must have been an exit at the other side of the caves. She blinked, noticing the toddler and a ball of fire with eyes. "Hey, what are you doing back here?" she asked, approaching the two. Poor little guy looked distraught....

Zee looked in Aaron's direction, blinking. He was meeting up with a kid? This boy was younger than the girl he'd met earlier. "Are you Aaron?" he asked, frowning slightly. "I was told to meet two people, where's Darcy?"
Howl paused, spotting Jaella. Maybe she could help him find Sophie! He toddled up to her, Calcifer following closely behind. "Hi," he said, glancing up at her with sad blue eyes. "You pretty," he told her half heartedly, still glancing about the cave for Sophie. "Wan Thophie... Thee no here..." he sighed, and wrapped tiny arms around her legs. "Mith her." Where was she? Why hadn't she come with him? For that matter, where was he?

Aaron motioned to the sleeping girl. "She hasn't been feeling so good, so I don't think she'll be doing much. I apologize." he said, offering a small smile. "Please, feel free to make yourself comfortable and take a seat." He should go find the kid, but he couldn't very well leave the man to sit here all alone.
Jaella was surprised. Poor little guy! She shifted the stuff she was holding so she could give him a one-armed hug. "I'm sorry...." she said, her voice softer than it usually was. "I'm sure you'll find her.....how'd you end up in here, anyways?" She offered the little boy a cookie and a small smile.

"I hope she feels better soon," Zee said honestly. He'd heard a lot of bad things about Darcy, but that didn't mean he wished bad things on her. "Care to explain why I was invited here?" he questioned, with a tilt of his head.
"Hope tho..." Howl sniffled, before seeming to think about her question. "I no know. Wath with Thophie in Cathtle... Then... Wath here. With her." He pointed to Darcy's rock with a frown. "No like it. Wan go home. Wan Thophie... Why here? Thith not home..." He took the cookie and began to nibble at it.

Aaron nodded, looking back up at Zee. "Well, we have a special child we'd like you to take care of." he said, spitting it out. He didn't see how he could say it any gentler than that. "My sister thinks you are capable of raising this child, and I trust her judgment."
Jaella was confused....did Mom have something to do with this. "I wish I could help." she said, starting to head towards her "parents" and the new adult. The poor little boy...

Zee thought about this for a moment, before a frown crossed his handsome features. "Special? In what way? Do you mean one of those mental kids?" He asked, before shaking his head. He couldn't take on one of those! He could hardly handle normal kids like Devin and Almie.
Howl glanced up at Jaella with something close to awe--and something else. He was wearing an expression one would not expect to see on a toddler's face. "You pretty," he told her again with a small smile. "I luv you." he paused, perhaps remembering that he didn't know the older girl's name. "What your name? I Howl. Howell really--but no one call me that." He made a face at the name. "Thith Calthifer," he pointed to the fire demon. "No worry. He pretend to be mean, but he not."

Aaron blinked. Mental kids? "Oh, no, not special like that. He's, well, you'll see when you meet him." he said, rubbing the back of his head. He turned his head, seeing the little blighter with Jaella. That was good; he didn't have to hunt the kid down.
Jaella offered a small smile. "My name's Jaella, but most people call me Jae. It's nice to meet you both." she said, her tone cheerful. "And thank you." She giggled, ruffling the little boy's hair. Aww, wasn't he just the cutest thing? She then looked up, waving. "Hey Dad!" she greeted Aaron, smiling and then looking to Darcy. "Mom's sleeping again?" She then looked to Zee, smiling. "Hi, Mr. Zulpen!" she greeted, giggling.

Zee gave Aaron a confused glance, before looking up to see Jaella. He forced a smile, remembering that she was one of Thali's friends. "Hey Jaella," he said, before noticing the toddler walking with her. "Is this him then?" He asked, looking back in Aaron's direction. Zee couldn't see anything 'special' about him. He looked normal enough... Well except for the outfit.
Howl realized what these people were intending to do, and clung to Jaella's leg. If he left here, he'd never find Sophie! "No, no!" He cried. "No let him take me!" He looked up at Jae with big pleading blue eyes. "Wan thtay here. Wan find Thophie."
"Sophie?" Zee repeated, glancing at Aaron.

Aaron shrugged. "He's been going on about her since he arrived." he said, his tone quiet as he spoke to the dark elf.
Jaella gave his shoulders a squeeze, biting her lip lightly. What was she supposed to do? "I don't think Sophie's in here....I didn't see anyone else on my way here." she said softly. "Look, Mr. Zulpen is going to take care of you while you're here. I'll keep in contact, and I'll try to help you find Sophie, okay?" It was kind of surprising, actually; Jaella had come up with a smart idea.

Zee's frown grew. "What do you mean, arrived? Thali was under the impression that these children were born, or made and then given away. Where does he come from?" The elf couldn't see keeping someone hostage as being very fun. And that's what it seemed to be like--this child didn't want to be here.
Surprisingly, Jaella's reassurances calmed Howl down. Slightly. "Promith?" He asked, wiping a tear from his eyes. "You help me find Thophie? Mith her." He paused, and looked up at her. "Wath big, Jae." He told her in a whine. "Bigger than you. Why little now? Wath married... had baby. Where Thophie?"

Aaron looked confused. "I'm not sure. I wasn't here when Darcy did whatever she did. She simply told me to have Jae send a letter out to you. I don't know much about the child, except he calls himself Howl."
Jaella nodded. "I promise; cross my heart and hope to die. I'll do my best to help you find her." She listened, her confusion growing. "You were bigger? Hm....I don't know why you're little now. I'd say ask Mom, but....Mom's not feeling too swell."

Zee's frown faded into a look of pure confusion. "Howl?" He echoed, blinking. The name sounded vaguely familar, maybe Thali had mentioned it, or Almie. It was if he was remembering a story told long ago. Nah. It couldn't be. "Alright, Howl." The dark elf bent down to the toddler's level. "I promise, I'll do whatever I can to help you. I don't know what Darcy did to you, but whatever it was..." It sure seemed to have made the poor toddler upset. "I'll help," he finished.
"I wath bigger," Howl said with a sad sigh. "I really wath. Maybe athk later, and thee tell? Then you tell me. Then we find Thophie!" He said hopefully, before looking up at Aaron. "Read book bout me. There book."

Aaron nodded. A book about the child? He highly doubted that; the boy seemed rather narcissistic, but....he'd look into it, if only to satisfy his curiousity.
Jaella nodded. "I'll ask her, and do whatever I can to help." she said, offering a small smile, another cookie, and a glass of lemonade to the boy. He needed it.
