A chill breeze swam through the air, tickling the last remnants of the day. Slowly, the sun began to hug the shore of the ocean and Morgr'un peered at it with an endless gaze. His life was a shadow of darkness in the beauty of day... the sun was the only thing that kept him from forgetting reality.

As the last sliver of red passed into darkness, the decrepit Di'Taki waded into the water. His plumes of dark, ruddy feathers swayed gently in the wind as he dipped his rotting skull downward near the sea. Sharp, pale eyes danced with delight as he peered at its surface, trying his best to feel its cold.

Her thirst for water was quickly replaced with the fascination with the creature she was seeing right now... wondering if she was really witnessing this monstrosity.

Marrowmourn lingered by the shore of the lake, head held high, letting the wind play through her feathers, the soft clacking of bone against bone as her necklace moved, eyes wide, but steady.
head lowering forward a little, as she circled around the waters edge to get slowly closer.

Blood dripped from the jaws of the beast as he continued to study the ripples and waves in the sea. He paused, remembering to breathe and swallow the liquid that continuously flowed from his mouth. Morgr'un stepped out of the water, broken paws digging into the sand as he moved.

The Di'Taki sighed and muttered to himself incoherently, thoughts focused on something obviously not of this world. Morgr'un raised his eyes to view the edge of the forest as it called for him to come back.

Sand kicked up from under her feet as she hastened her pace. staying out of the water, ducking to the other side of the beach to get a closer look at this strange creature.
feathers whipping around on her body from the ocean breeze, but she payed no mind, eyes only gleaming louder as they stared, wide eyed.

the Black and Purple female stalked forward, trying to get closer, while keeping a safe distance from this thing. the closer she got the more shocked and repulsed she became. this thing wasn't just hurt, it was like he was rotting, while still living. and his stench, he smelled of death.
gagging very suddenly, Marrowmourn shuffled back sharply a few steps, her back arched as she tried not to gag again.

Sinew and muscle twisted as Morgr'un turned to peer at the creature beside him. His raw green oculars locked on the female; her mixtures of black, lavender, and white dancing in his mind. Her repulsed contractions were only too familiar to him. The sight of his undead flesh was not something most were comforted by. No, in fact he often felt as if he were an abhorred existence in the eyes of the other Di'Taki.

"I apologize for the inconvenience of my nature," he said, perhaps a little too loudly. His sense of hearing had rotted away for the most part, along with other parts of his deformed body. Despite the female's obvious disgust, he stepped forward, staring at her with an intense fascination.

Marrowmourn’s eyes shifted up as she tried to gain control over her contractions, staring at the creature that was now looking at her, watching her.
She gagged softly once more, before tentatively raising her head, watching with caution as the wind clattered the bones stringed to her neck. She did not speak, but her expressions were words enough. Eyes wide, head ducked low under her shoulders, staring right back at his dead eyes from under the feathers of her own Mohawk. What was this thing, how was it still alive.

Although nausea etched the shadows of the female's face, Morgr'un continued to observe her with interest. The creature was gorgeous while illuminated in the pale moonlight. Only her silence disturbed him, although he could understand her caution. "I am Morgr'un," he stated plainly, forgetting to soften his words with emotion. The tendencies of the living escaped him from time to time. Emotion and feeling were something he had to strive to remember.

He didn't bother to explain himself, for there were times Morgr'un didn't even understand his situation. The look of sickened intrigue escaped the femme's green eyes. The male Di'Taki sighed, allowing air to escape from his rotten lungs. The effect was mainly for her, not for him. Breathing had become unnecessary for him a long time ago.

She continued to watch this beast, uncertain of how to act how after the initial shock was over. He continued on to introduce himself, the creature had a name, and identity, and this was the second time he spoke to her.
Slipping her ears back a little when he let out a sigh, her own lungs contracting a little as she noticed how strained his own breath was, it wasn't exactly natural, but it was an act that was very familiar to one that is living.
But the sigh had made her realize, It only now occurred to her that he was probably offended by her reaction, as unnerved as she still was and unintentional as horror was, Still, she eyed him, finally finding her voice enough her tone sounded hollow, there was a weakness to it, a cracker in her will.
“Call me Marrowmourrn” she Didn't speak often, and the weakness behind the volume in her voice made that very evident.
The sound of her voice sounded strange to her, it felt strange, nothing she uttered felt quite right.

A whisper flooded the undead Di'Taki's mind, but the words were inaudible. His expression dropped suddenly, taking notice that the act of speaking seemed foreign to this lovely girl. Unfortunately, hearing wasn't exactly easy for him. His senses had dulled over time while roaming in a world meant for the living. He had studied her maw while she spoke, but no familiar movements came to him.

"I am... sorry," he started, feeling awkward. "My sense of hearing is quite... lacking." Conversing with others wasn't one of his best abilities and he didn't want to scare this one away. A strange connection emitted from her, as if life had been given to him at last.

Her many eyes widened a little when she learned that he had difficulty hearing. shifting a claw under her weight slightly, finding that a rather odd coincidence, she rarely spoke loudly, but in order to communicate with him she would need to.
right now she knew that she just needed to get her name across,
though she was reluctant to get to much closer to this strange beast, her feet slowly gravitated her closer, uttering once again "Marrowmourn" when she felt she was close enough. the rich scent of blood was more pungent from here.

her eyes traveled over his body close enough to see details now, she could not help but stare, eyes wide, and glowing brightly in the darkness.

"Marrowmourn," the rotting Di'Taki uttered, small drips of blood falling from his maw. He looked upon her with intensity, even with dark holes decorating the areas where eyes had once been. The remaining green ones sparkled with something close to happiness, however, marveling at the sound of this female's voice. It was soft and delicate, but there was a strength to it that not even he would've been able to match.

Disregarding his previous caution, Morgr'un stepped forward, his spine straightening, allowing bloody, cracked ribs to sparkle in the moonlight. Patches of dark, dead fur and skin hung around the revealing bones, but his missing flesh didn't seem to phase him. Morgr'un was undead, that was true, but he felt his heart beating now... if that were possible. He wanted to get closer to her... to observe her in the darkness. Marrowmourn, he thought, the name soothing his mind.

"Why are you out here alone, my dear?" he asked her politely.

She could not resist a cautious step back, her eyes never once leaving him, her head still and ready. he did not sound, or move in a threatening manner, if anything, it only intrigued her, but the unknown of what he was, and where he came from was enough to make her want to keep her distance.
"... wandering" she replied simply, it was true though, she rarely had much else to do, never having a duty, or a fulfilling path, that was something she was still searching for.
"... can I ask you a question" she hissed softly

Morgr'un's body shuddered suddenly. It wasn't violent or menacing, just a mere reaction of his body to the passing wind. His nerves were partially dead and clinging on to the little life they had left. The smallest change in the atmosphere had the influence to move his posture without warning. It was something he had grown used to, for the most part. Unfortunately, the jerks and shudders looked unnatural to those who were not accustomed to his presence.

"Of course," he insisted, ears coming forward through a tattered mane of feathers. "Anything."

The odd movement he made only drew out her silence, her gaze drifting over his body, wondering briefly what that was before she returned her stare to his eyes... and lack of eyes.
"what are you?"
she couldn't really find a more polite way to put it, but it summed up her question, to her knowledge, no normal Di'taki would be able to walk around so casually with wounds like that.
she looked somewhat hesitant asking that question, and apologetic after she had spoken, not sure if this would offend him or not.

The skin on his upper jaw peeled back slightly in what could have been called a smile years ago. His eyes revealed the true sorrowful humor he pulled out of her simple question. "I am a Di'Taki," Morgr'un answered softly, wondering how to explain himself further. His own memory of his past and where he had come from were unknown to him at present. It was as if a white mass clouded anything his mind had once possessed before death. Even his rising was a mystery to him, despite his theories.

"I am undead, however," he told her, head lowering slightly, as if to make himself seem less menacing. "I walk among the living, but my body... died... quite awhile ago, I think."

Another ocean breeze passed over the beach, ruffling the dark, mottled feathers lining the zombie's back. Some were still beautiful with their deep red and violet hues, whereas others were torn and ruined. Pieces of leaves and dirt hung in his feathered mane, though most had been cleaned out by his own claws. Despite his efforts, it was obvious the creature had been rotting in the ground for quite some time... although it seemed to him like he had never passed away.
